Equipment problem #1

I did not crash the vehicle I bought it preowned.

Equipment problem #2

I hit an animal in my way to work as I reported the accident to my insurance company they were going to cover the parts and have it towed to my choice as it was however the professional car shop wasn't able to fix the anti theft that caused my car to not turn over as I was then told to take it to the nearest Ford dealer to get it reprogrammed to the original status I was told that it would cost more to fix the problem then what my car was purchased for so my insurance company claimed a total loss of the vehicle, oliver Ford Lincoln Mercury in Plymouth indiana sold me a lemon as I was a customer to them for over 8 yrs and covid came in the middle of my lease being up on 2017 Ford fusion I asked if I could purchase my lease vehicle but was refused and told no because I was collecting unemployment benefits but for the last year and half I paid my car note out of my unemployment benefits money each month but they didn't seem to accept my money then, I have always been a Ford customer and drove 4 brand new Ford fusions and paid off each one with my hard earned money, I was devastated by the decision of being told that my unemployment money wasn't earned money, yes correct it wasn't earned money that I paid into it was because of my employer who paid in for me as I worked enough for the company to take care of me while I suffered through no fault of my own a pandemic that should not be held as a turniquit over my ability to have transportation no matter what money is paid and where it comes from I felt disappointed discriminated and I will never buy or refer any customer or vehicle.

Equipment problem #3

The back passenger door locks are stuck locked and the doors can't open or they stay stuck open and the door doesn't stay shut. I've had the locks replaced and it happened again.

Equipment problem #4

The evaporator coil in my car is leaking and spraying refrigerant in my car. This happens when the car is in motion and or in park.

Equipment problem #5

The door ajar sensor warning light for my driver's side door keeps coming on. The door is closed. This happens while driving and when parked. With this defective sensor it also sets the alarm off every 5-10 minutes while locked, along with the interior and exterior lights coming on sporadically.

Equipment problem #6

My husband had returned from the store and pulled up into our slightly angled driveway, he was checking his receipt for an error and thought he had the car in park. He got out to carry some bags up to the porch and when he returned he noticed the car was still running. He reached in to turn the car off and because it was still in drive the car started rolling down the driveway, he was able to reach over and get it in park but it did not stop rolling and continued at a greater speed pulling him partially out of the car and dragging him resulting in a fractured neck, massive bruising on his abdomen and due to the shock of the incident kidney failure for three days. We realize it was his fault for not turning the car off and not having it in park. My brother-in-law came over in his Dodge and tried the same thing and his truck immediately went in to park, if he opens his door while the vehicle is running even slightly the vehicle immediately goes into park. We have always been Ford vehicle fans but this is having us rethink our decision on a new car. We think we know why it did not stop when he put it in park while it was rolling but there is not a safe guard to prevent these kind of accidents are uncalled for. If a young child were to get in this vehicle and take it out of drive there could be horrible consequences. The car rolled all the was down our driveway into the street (app. 60 ft driveway), he was stuck in between the bottom of the door, afraid he was going to get run over. He was finally able to free himself after app. 40 ft. My grandson has a Ford edge and it did the same thing. This is a safety issue that should be addressed immediately. If the angle of the driveway hadn't been what it was I am sure it would have started rolling before my husband got out of the vehicle.

Equipment problem #7

Transmission shifts hard as you drive with cruise control on for no apparent reason.

Equipment problem #8

Excessive tire wear. Went to rotate tires and found wear bands showing. Less than 19,000 miles on 60,000 mile tires. Original tires wore out fast, and thought it to be previous owner or cheap tires. Was able to replace on tire warranty, but failure was imminent was down to steel bands on inside of wheel. Per issues on internet forums, why is this being overlooked?? do I have to fricken die before something is done?? at $110 a pop per tire at a minimum, the burden on drivers because this is overlooked is overwhelming. Is anything ever going to be done??.

Equipment problem #9

"takata recall" we have already had to replace one of the seat belts because it would not latch and also the pasenger door has issues with locking and unllocking. It works occassionally but not always. The 2012 Focus was reacalled for this issue and 2011 should be too.

Equipment problem #10

The driver side door will not latch and not lock. I have to drive the car holding the door with one hand and holding the other hand on steering.

Equipment problem #11

My vehicle has displayed an intermittent but increasing issue with electrical components. It started with a warning on the dash (including the warning chime) about a tire pressure monitor fault, and spread to include many and various warning lights. These include the parking brake light, and the door ajar light. When these lights are displaying, my turn signal indicator will not report on the dash, although I have been able to verify that the signals themselves are working on the outside of the car. Over time, this went from an occasional issue to being almost constant. At times, the tire pressure warning light will come on with constant chiming. I have experienced battery dead / non-start issues, although after jumping the vehicle, it will be fine for days. I have been able to get the dash to work properly by slapping the deck just above the display, although this only works for a short time. I typically only do this now when the constant chiming starts. I have had a mechanic look at it, and will be doing so again today. Last time, they tightened some wiring under the dash, and the issue appeared to go away for about 5 days, then crept back quickly. The initial thought was the alternator, although as mentioned above, the issue stopped after wiring was adjusted, and I suspect smacking the dashboard won't fix an alternator, or provide more power to dash lamps. Thank you. By the way, I am in canada, your form below doesn't offer that as an option.

Equipment problem #12

I have a serious electrical problem in my Ford Focus 2011. During the day time the dash lights that are supposed to come on at night when you cut the lights on come on during the day time and won't cut off which causes the battery in my car to go dead. I've already replaced my car battery twice because of this problem. I have to beat on my car for it to cut on and lately that hasn't been working at all. Another problem I'm having is that the car says that the trunk is ajar when it's closed and the rear door is ajar when it's closed, the emergency break is on when it's not. My car cuts off every time I stop. Everything in the dash cuts off and freezes so I won't be able to tell if I need gas or how fast I'm going. Both car keys aren't being recognized by my car. I've repetedly called the dealership that I got my car from and they keep telling me to come on Saturday and when I get there they say they don't have any mechanics available. I've called triple aaa every other day to jump start my car and sometimes they can't get it started because the dash in my car won't cut on. My dash in my car doesn't cut on when I try to crank up my car my car doesn't start. Everything else comes on in my car but the dash. I went on vacation the day after I bought this car and I had to buy a new battery because of the electrical problem in my car and then it wasn't the battery that was the problem. I went on vacation to florida and if I didn't get the dash to come on I would've been stuck in florida. I've had this problem everyday since I bought this car on September 19, 2014.

Equipment problem #13

The doors are locking it won't unlock with the key I've called a locksmith. Ive had to crawl out the window twice safety issue Ford is ordering parts of course my warranty is expiring even the extended one I will have to pay for this safety issue.

Equipment problem #14

Locking mechanism for trunk failed. No longer pops open. . . . . Dealer states the repair will cost $250.

Equipment problem #15

At approx. 40,800 mi, doors began to intermittently not unlock, no matter if I used the key, the remote, the inside switches or handles. Took the vehicle to the dealership, they tried to give me paperwork on how to use the remote. At about 41,000 mi multiple doors locked and it was taken back to the dealership, at 41,109 mi they replaced driver's, front passenger, and rear right: latches, linkages and control rods, partially at my cost. At 44,568 mi dealership replaced left rear actuator/latch, partially at my cost. At about 58,000 mi intermittent problems began again, at 63,638 mi dealership blew out the locks and told me it was because I lived on a gravel road and had to blow it out or bring it back to have them blow it out monthly. Two days later all four doors locked and I couldn't get in, 3 weeks later they unlocked randomly, despite the fact the car hadn't moved (I couldn't get in it). I can open the front doors by pulling really hard if I am inside, one of the backdoors I can pull the latch up with needle nose pliers from inside, the other I can't open once it locks. I have fought the dealership as well as corporate Ford and they won't do anything, they say they are aware of the problem but won't do anything about it. This is a safety issue, I had an infant get locked in the back thank heavens I wasn't in a wreck, we took her out and had to leave her car seat in the back (this is how I figured out the needle nose plier trick). I have 3 kids in the back of my car almost all the time and it scares me if I crash, they may or may not be able to get out. I can never lock my car, because I may not be able to get back in, and now the drivers door doesn't always lock anyways, even when I'm going down the road and it used to auto lock. There are complaints similar to mine for several model years of Focuses all over the internet. Make Ford be responsible, do a recall!!!!.

Equipment problem #16

My door locks on one or multiple doors failed to unlock by any means, repeatedly and intermittently. I did take it to the Ford dealer in twin falls, idaho and they wouldn't fix anything until I could prove it. I did drive to the dealer when it happened and they verified the problem when they attempted to unlock the doors and failed. I had to crawl out the window to get out. They replaced all of my door locks on warranty. Now I have 58k miles on my car, no warranty and I am having the same safety issue. The dealer said they would not fix the problem. If I were to wreck, or the car caught fire, how would I get my grand kids out of the car? how would I escape? would if my windows which are electrical failed also? I am locked in my car and so are my passengers. What ever parts they replaced under warranty aren't any better than the original ones.

Equipment problem #17

The door lock on the drivers door when using key fob does always unlock, when locks its own at 10mph then you try to get out some driving has be wrenched with handle. Passenger door behind the driver locks itself at 10mph, stays locked, cannot be opened by handle even after car off, the door pull cannot be pulled up to unlock the door, my daughter has been using other door for years to get in and out because we cannot get that door unlocked. It will not unlock using key fob or from main door inside vehicle. The car has always been like this since we bought it new. Has been to the Ford dealership 3 times and they cannot find the problem, it then went out of warranty so we never went back.

Equipment problem #18

Rear doors do not open from inside or outside.
