1 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2020

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 - 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. Several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel tank was warped and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that NHTSA campaign number: 19v515000 (fuel system, gasoline) was completed on the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage 130,000.

2 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2011

The fuel gauge reads much higher levels than are actually in the tank. The gauge will actually go up from three quarters to full in a 20 mile ride. I do have pictures documenting this. The only time the gauge seems to be correct is upon starting the vehicle first thing in the morning.
