Ford Focus 2013 titanium in March 2020 on interstate 90 between st charles mn and eyota mn stalled without warning at 70 mph and had 32 miles to empty reading on gauge. Vehicle flatbed towed to home 35 miles away and gas was added and vehicle ran fine. August 2020 same vehicle stalled without warning on state highway at 60 miles per hour with 21 miles to empty on reading. Again vehicle flatbed towed home and gas was added and vehicle has ran fine since. I believe that the gas gauge is faulty in this model of Ford Focus as in other years but no recall yet for model 2013 year. We will make sure gas doesnt get below 50 miles as this has happened twice now within 5 months and not a coincidence.

When I go from a stop light or stop sign it shudders during accelerating. 11 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2019

On Friday, may 30. 2019, around 5:00pm, I was driving to a family event. I had just stopped for gas about 15 minutes prior to the incident happening. As ibwas driving and I came to a stop. Just as the light turned green, signaling for me to go, and I released my foot from the brake and began to accelerate, my car stalled. I was in the middle of a very busy intersection. I immediately put on my hazard lights, put my car in neutral, and began pushing it out of the street. There was smoke coming from the hood that eventually dissipated. I made several attempts to restart my car and it never would. I called my roadside assistance provider and had my car towed home. I have been trying to figure out the issue when today I had a reader plugged into my car to test for any error codes. Surely, codes p0100, p2227 and p0456 all came up. As I researched these codes, I was brought to the NHTSA website and found thid recall that I was never notified of and there's no remedy for. I am without transportation.

Failure Date: 02/07/2019

We received a recall notification for my vehicle in December 2018 from Ford. We were told that as long as the gas tank is filled at 1/2 a tank, the vehicle is safe to drive. Since we received the letter, my vehicle has stalled on the highway three separate times, each time resulting in the car having to be pushed to a safer location. It doesn't seem like anything is being done to fix the situation and it's becoming unsafe to drive. I wanted to file a complaint against Ford motor company for not fixing this issue in a timely manner before it becomes a more serious issue with my husband being hit by another vehicle at 70+ mph on the highway.

16 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2019

My Focus is under Ford recall. . . It is experiencing stalling and loss of power and difficulty starting. Ford says it will be fine if I keep a half tank of fuel in tank, but all the symptoms are happening with over half a tank of fuel. They will not provide a loaner/rental vehicle and the local dealer will not either. They both tell me the same thing about half a tank of fuel. But it is not safe to drive due to the stalling and loss of power. There is no parts available and they don't know when they will be available.

17 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

My current problem is after fueling up my car it starts and then stalls, then the next restart it turns over about 5 to 10 seconds and starts and then has a erratic idle and it may stall again, or if I manage to take off it will run ok, unless I have to stop within a 100 yards, and it then may stall again, or have a erratic idle around 2000 rpms, then idles down to the 750 area if I'm lucky, only after fueling up. Every start afterwards starts and runs fine until the next gas up. I have an engine code I believe they said was a evap code, my fuel tank is starting to concave on the bottom. I talked to my dealership and they said I'm not part of the recall, although he said I fit all the parameters of the recall, but my VIN number its in the system. I'm looking for help and hope someone can contact Ford ! ps this is on going and very dangerous! thank you, very disappointed in Ford. Ps ps the transmission is another forty pages of info if you ever have the time to talk.

18 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2018

Car is driven in moderate raining conditions in va. Suddenly while maneuvering in a walmart parking lot a fault engine faul service car now showed up on the dashboard screen. Didn't feel anything different at first and continued driving back home. About 2 miles later in the middle of route 28 the car lost acceleration and completely stalled in the middle of the highway. Was able to maneuver it on the shoulder before car completely stopped. Restarted engine but same error showed up and car only moved a meter before stalling again. Had it towed to Ford chantilly va. Dealer called a few days later and stated it's a 800usd repair on a electrical harness issue. It is the same electrical harness recall that Ford released but only for the Ford Focus st models and not se. This is the 2nd time this year that I've brought the car back to the dealer for major performance issues. The first one is covered by the transmission pcm recall. For a 2013 model that is barely being used (car has only 35k mileage) this is unaccepatable. Btw car also has an issue on the driver side power window (doesn't go down) but I have not requested them to fix them yet.

I purchased the certified pre-owned Ford in 2014 and in 2016 had to it in for service on a clutch asy- sensor turbi issue. After a few weeks the vehicle was returned. The aforementioned happened again and was taken in for the 2nd time for the clutch asy-sensor turbi issue. On 11/17/2017 it was diagnosed with the same issues for the 3rd time, this time I was told its out of warranty. I explained that the vehicle had this issues two prior times and the clutch system was defective. I was then told to take the matter up with corporate. My 2013 Ford Focus se is doing the exact same thing putting my daughter's life at risk every time she gets in it as well as my own and wray Ford in shreveport la says sorry cant help you. . . It's not on the recall since its not an st and you will have to pay for the repairs. This is garbage Ford is not standing behind their product and I am the little guy. This is the second recall for this issue and the se is not being taken care of with the identical issue. Runs fine when driving, but when at a light or stop sign, it shakes, gauges go crazy and then shuts off. I just bought this car and of course when I got it home that's when the issues started. Purchased as is no warranty and of course was not told of the issues but only that I should call to see if there are any recalls. Help! funny thing is that it stalled on me at the red light turning into wray Ford in shreveport.

When accelerating from first to second gear the car will shudder like it wants to stall. It seems to happen the most when there is any kind of extra weight in the car, when accelerating from a stop, and when going uphill. It will be fine for a while then all of a sudden it will do this every time I try to accelerate. The car only has 52,000 miles on it and definitely shouldn't have this kind of a problem.

30 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2015

2012 hatchback Ford Focus automatic the vehicle stalls whenever accelerated. It feels as if the computer sends the signal to maintain the speed or speed up but the transmission can not keep up with it, therefore it stalls. It does it when I'm driving on the city street and on the highway, the speed does not relate to when it occurs. In order words, if I am driving at a constant speed for a lapse of time it will still stall and if I need to speed up, for example when making a turn onto a street it will stall or when making a lane change.

I started having transmission problems in 2014, Ford validated the problem and put a part on order in may of 2015. In October of 2015 the part was scheduled to be put in but they ran out of parts so the appointment was postponed. A week or so later the transmission issue caused an accident. The transmission stalled/jerking as I was making a left hand turn and my son and myself were struck by an oncoming vehicle. After numerous attempts to have the vehicle fixed followning the accident, we voluntarily surrendered the vehicle to Ford credit. The vehicle is not safe.

35 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2015

My car stalled going down the road at approximately 35 mph upon attempting to accelerate the vehicle revved to the red limit, and would not go into gear. I was thankfully able to pull to the side of the road and get myself and my child to safety by rolling in neutral. Ford motor company has had thousands of complaints about the transmissions in these cars stalling or completely malfunctioning while driving yet there has not been a recall on them. My infant was in the car! had I been entering a highway or something the results would have been terrible. All the company will do is extend the warranty to 100,000 miles and then we as consumers are screwed. Basically they "fix" it until the warranty is up. This is not acceptable or safe in any way.
