Ford transmission problems wont go away!! transmission shutter and poor initial acceleration. The clutch has been replaced twice and tcm twice by Ford dealer. After the last tcm replacement in 2016 problems continued and I was turned away by Ford dealerships because no engine light came on. Now that finally a check engine light came on u0101, p07a3, I am now over 100, 000 miles the clutch is no longer covered under warranty but the tcm is. I have had several incidents where the car lost all acceleration abilities while driving on a busy highway or simply fail to accelerate and a traffic light causing major delays for anyone around me. It has been a saftey concern for years due to the unpredictability of the transmission intermittently not allowing acceleration.
I just bought is car Wednesday the 09th 2020 and on Thursday the 17th I picked my car up from the garage after getting it inspected, I go back to work and leave around 730pm I went to drop my friend off at her house, her house is located on a hill, once I turned the corner and hit the gas, the car backfired and felt like it was going to stall, everytime I stop the car is hesitant to move everytime I try and take off. Also while I was on my way home I had to take a road with a hill and what a mistake I didn't think I was going to make it to the top that's when the check engine light came on.

While waiting in traffic on a hill or accelerating uphill the check engine light randomly turns on and the vehicle immediately shuts off. This has left me rolling to a stop on the freeway and even rolling backwards downhill unable to turn the car back on. Today I barely pulled over on the side of the road before I started to coast backwards. Recall was posted 10/22/18 and there is no solution yet over 4 months later.
I called washington Ford in washington, PA on 1/17/2019 regarding a check engine light due to Ford Focus recall (purge valve). They scheduled an appointment for 1/30/2019 to fix the recall. Took my car in on the eve of 1/29/2019 and dropped it off. They called me the following day to say they didnt have the part available. They instructed me to pick up my car and said they would call when part came in. I had an inspection scheduled for 2/7/2019 and they told me it would come in prior to my inspection. I never heard from them but called back a few times, telling them I had new codes coming up on my obd sensor (fixd) the car had been running rough, stalling out while idling/stopped. . They assured me it was safe to drive. They did not get part in by 2/7/2019 and I missed my inspection. Two new codes came up on my car and I called angrily on 2/14/2019 to ask if they need me to take car to a different location, and they told me they were just about to call me to tell me parts came in. . We scheduled for 2/22/2019 to have recall fixed. They told me rental cars aren't covered under this recall when I explained the problems with scheduling so many appointments and having difficulty finding other transportation. On 2/17/2019 my car shut off while driving, on a major road (route 40). I was able to coast down a side street and pull into driveway at the bottom of the hill. Had the dealership fixed the problem the day they originally scheduled me, I would have a working car. Now, I'm afraid more damage has been done, as there are 7 total codes on my obd sensor(there were 3 when I first called about recall). The dealership should have never scheduled me when they didn't have the right part in stock, or a rental car should have been provided until they corrected the problem. I'm very unsatisfied with the customer service level at this location!.
While traveling on a surface street, at approximately 50 mph the engine decelerated very quickly. The dash instrumentation showed "engine fault service now!" the engine was sputtering and shaking as I attempted to accelerate to get over to the shoulder. I did get over safely. My wife and I were very badly shaken. After about 5 minutes I regained my composure enough to try to restart the car. It took about 3 tries to restart. The instruments were back to normal except the check engine light was on. I drove home without incident and turned the car off. A half hour later I tried to start the car and it did it again. The car has been towed to a repair shop. My wife is now afraid to drive this car. We live in arizona. The speed limit is 65 mph. The average speed of cars on the highway is 75 mph just to keep up with the flow of traffic. Not if, but when this happens to a driver travelling at 65 to 70 mph there will be costly repercussions and hopefully no loss of life, but life changing injuries. This car is a death trap. I also have filed a claim in the ongoing Ford transmission settlement, vargas v. Ford motor CO. , case. No. 2:12-cv-08388-ab-ffm. I am sure that you are aware of this case. This car needs to be taken off our streets and highways. I know you will do your due diligence and please, sooner rather than later. I will have documentation when my car has been repaired, so feel free to contact me. When.

Very unsafe and Ford is responsible. Please demand that Ford return money's paid & pay my loan off. How many people have to die before this issue is resolved?.
I was stopped in line at a light. When the light changed I pushed on the gas and the car would not move- it sounded like the engine was stuck in neutral. I shut the car off and restarted it and that's when the check engine light came on. I was almost rear-ended several times as the car would not move. I had it towed to the dealer only to be told that they didn't know what was wrong-after two days I was told it was due to an update that needed to be done to the engine software and that it was not covered under either the basic warranty or the extended warranty and I would have to pay for the repair. I had the same vehicle to the dealer for a sound in the engine on 6/30 and they couldn't find anything! I have a friend who had the same issue when his car was a month old and they covered the cost of his repair.
Ford Focus st (manual transmission) stalls repeatedly when coasting to a stop. Once stalled while driving at 40 mph which is potentially dangerous. Sometimes the idle drops very low (500 rpm) but doesn't stall. No check engine light (cel). Dealer said without cel there is no indication of a problem. From online research this appears to be a widespread problem with 2013 Focus st.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the check engine warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. 2013 Ford Focus st has stalled on the highway going 65+ mph multiple times, in addition to on on-ramps and while coming to a stop, resulting in loss of power brakes and power steering. Multiple times has stalled without giving a check engine light, meaning the dealer wouldn't look at it despite being under warranty. Engine's idling speed is wildly erratic before and after stalling events. Have been incredibly lucky so far because this is extremely dangerous and a huge safety risk. Terrified of losing power again while turning left ahead of oncoming traffic or while merging onto the freeway. Ford has issued TSB 13-9-7 for those lucky enough to have the ecu store a code, notice the issue and get it to a dealer while still under warranty, but this absolutely needs to be a recall before someone gets hurt or killed.
Vehicle lost all power while driving at 45 mph with no warning. After attempting to restart for 10-15 minutes, the car did re-start, but the check engine light stayed on. Took to dealership on 2/22. Awaiting information from dealer.
