Clutch was repaired and now a part of the new clutch needs replacement and they don't want to help me! I know it's part of the recall!! now I can't use my car because I have to pay $2k out of pocket to get it fixed! when I know it's the recall. It's the clutch!!! also. . The attached work orders. . Were not given to me when I purchase the car. But they were in the car manual book. And it's says the car was already having transmission problems at 15 thousand miles! if I would've known . I would have never purchased this vehicle! this car is a lemon!!!.
After putting the car in first gear because it's a manual transmission and moving forward. My car isnot locking and I go sometimes upwards of 100 feet or more before it shows that the car is locked. But I am not hearing the car lock like it should. It does the same thing in reverse.
The 2014 Ford Focus only has one door lock/unlock button which is located on the front middle panel near the radio controls. There are no manual lock/unlock mechanisms on any of the doors - if a crash occured, how would anyone in the back seat be able to get out if the driver is unable to push the button for them? that seems like an unsafe decision for a vehicle made for multiple passengers. Second, occasionally while driving in rainy weather, I have switched the wipers on to find that they hesitate for a few seconds before finally wiping the windshield. This does not happen every time, but I expect them to move when I turn them on, not a few seconds later. In the rain, a few seconds of non-visibility can be dangerous- even more so if it happens at night the next time. Are these electrical issues? could the unlock feature be an electrical if for any reason the battery goes or hits water?.
I filed a complaint under the mn lemon law due to repeated transmission issues on my car. When driving the vehicle it is quite noticeable that the transmission does not shift properly because it causes the vehicle to shudder when shifting. The vehicle is an automatic transmission, bu, t at times it feels like I'm driving a very sensitive manual transmission and will cause a shudder feeling at shift. I have taken my vehicle in to north country Ford in coon rapids, mn on 4 separate occasions. The dates were 8/27/15, 10/16/2015, 2/18/16 and 8/21/16. The dealer has been unable to permanently fix the issue and my concern is that this has been a repeated problem with my car and that it could be costly to me in the near future.
When trying to accelerate from being stopped at a light to complete a left turn the car would not accelerator and began to shutter even though I was pressing the gas the car did not move. I was finally able to move from traffic and narrowly avoided being hit by oncoming traffic. This is unacceptable as I need my vehicle to transport my children . I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. The vehicle is all shuttering when the transmission is trying to shift gear. If it had been disclosed the the automatic transmission was a manual transmission in this vehicle I would not of purchased it. I have had this problem for over 1 year (since I purchased the vehicle new) and I have brought to Ford 4 times and each time I am told it is operating within normal peramators . The dealership replaced the clutch only after I had the car for only 3 months. I also reached out to Ford corporation and was told the same thing and that there is nothing further they can do.
I purchased my first brand new 2014 Ford Focus about the end of September 2013. Being that I was driving a prior clunker and then I started to drive this new fancy and exciting car, I figured I wasn't too familiar with driving something new! as soon as I drove it the transmission or as I say the front of the car would do a jerking almost like a whiplash type movement no matter what speed I was driving. I took the car into the dealership and they tell me that it needs to update the computer software. I immediately have the same issues after that car was returned back to me and when I took it in this time they now tell me I broke the cvt/ or the clutch? this car was sold as an automatic but I later find out that it shifts like a manual to save on gas??? I would have never purchased this vehicle if I was aware of this detail. My husband is now terrified for me to drive the car. I'm beyond disappointed in Ford and its ignorance to knowingly place the public in a potential dangerous situation and a financial problem as well. All my husband and I truly want is to be placed in a safe vehicle, especially since we have poured our hard earned money into a trusted company that is doing a good job with promoting a terrible reputation thus far.
I filed a complaint last month on 9/17/14 #10637121 about the transmission grinding, lurching forward and shifting poorly. I took it to the dealer and they "reset the transmission" and I was advised to drive the car nice and was handed a paper on the transmission on the Focus. On 10/26/14 (9606 miles), I had a major coolant leak and had to have my vehicle towed to the dealer for service the next day. While there I also asked them to look at the transmission again. I was argued with and handed a paper on the dual clutch manual transmission and what to listen for. I explained that what I was noticing (grinding, lurching and hitting the gas and the car not going) was not normal and was advised that they would "look" at the transmission but with them resetting it, there was probably nothing they can do. After a day and a half of misdiagnosis of what was wrong with my car, I was advised that my heating core was leaking and told that my transmission was fine (no leaks). I spoke to the service manager and insisted that there was an issue with the transmission. He agreed to test drive it and called awhile later and said that they had hooked it up to a machine to test the vibrations in the engine and that my Focus engine vibrations far exceeded the normal and they would be approved by Ford to replace the transmission. I just got my car back today and on the service order they 1) replaced the heating core and 2) replaced the clutch assembly. When they took apart the old clutch, they found shards of clutch in the bell-housing and metallic flakes. So for nothing being wrong, shards of clutch sound serious to me!! my car is only 7 months old (one road trip to north carolina) and it has lost value and I worry about future clutch issues. The 2014 Ford Focus still only has a standard warranty on the transmission/clutch.
While in a median turn lane, I accelerated forward to turn left from a complete stop. As soon as I reached the middle of the road, the automatic car slipped out of gear and in to neutral, leaving me at almost a dead stop in the middle of a busy, uphill road. While trying to get the car back in gear, I was almost rear ended by two cars coming up the hill. Luckily they were paying attention, but had to swerve in the next lane to avoid me. I put my car in "select shift" mode and manually switched to 2nd gear. It was the only way the car would go back in gear. The Ford dealership service department has it now, needless to say, as I don't feel safe. I have also been experiencing a grinding noise and shaking/surging when accelerating from a complete stop in this vehicle. I believe this is related to the incident that occurred.
This vehicle hesitates upon acceleration, lowers rpms, jerks making a clicking noice and revs up the rpms once it accelerates it has hesitation and is notifiable that the transmission is changing gears there is a lag as if it was a manual and the operator could not change gears appropriately. The vehicle also tends to roll in a reverse motion as if in reverse upon inclination. Upon engaging the brakes there is a popping noise. The vehicle also sounds as though it has the key in and isnt turned over completely to start at times vehicle it turned off, in park, without key in the ignition, and remained this way for any period of time. This 2014 Ford Focus was manufactured 6-17-2014 in the michigan assembly plant.

There has also been a noticeable smell of burning rubber when occupying the vehicle. This vehicle was taken back to the dealership and I was advised that the transmission has to learn your driving habits and seal itself up I was given a paper on the transmission, and advised it should correct itself in 2000 miles. Well it hasn't, and this poses a dangerous and inanimate danger to my family as well as others on the road at the same time as I am in this vehicle. This is unacceptable manufacturing and fraud Ford motor company should be held liable for this vehicle as well as the others they maliciously and intentionally manufactured to only increase their personal welfare and greed without the compassion of human life, and integrity of their products. I have bought several Ford vehicles, and been loyal to a company that has a low moral and customer service standards.
I placed my car in reverse at an incline on my driveway I triple checked the tail lights, gears on dash and on shifter knob to verify that the car was in fact in reverse however my car instead moving in reverse was moving forward. I checked again and let go of gas and again it creeped forward. Placed it in neutral and it too went forward as well (triple checked the vehicle to be sure I was in the right gear). This car gave no warning of what it was doing or that the transmission was malfunctioning. Other problems the transmission does is that it shudders on acceleration, meaning its shakes like a manual transmission car when this car is in fact an automatic. It's shakes a lot in turns, low speeds, and just on acceleration without a full and complete stop. I have taken this vehicle time and time again to Ford and I they are only doing the minimal work. Ford has restarted the transmission computer and only once did they remove and changed a part of the transmission (clutch was removed and changed). I believe that they are waiting for a fatality to happen in order for Ford to have a recall. I know I am not the only person having these issues. People driving the 2013 Focus and fiesta are having similar issues. I have tried the lemon law only to be told that I was aware of what I purchased and that is that. . . . They may tell what technology is in the vehicle and how this saves gas however they forget that the consumer is not an expert mechanic! please help!.
Vehicle is equipped with Ford's 'automatic/manual hybrid' transmission. Vehicle began stuttering about a month after purchasing. Purchased vehicle brand new in January with 44 miles on it. When accelerating from full stop, vehicle shudders as if there were issues with the air intake, fuel, or transmission. Took vehicle back to two separate Ford dealerships (including where vehicle was purchased) and was told that that's just how it runs. Previous car was a manual. Whomever is operating the clutch under the hood, needs a lesson in driving! feels like vehicle is going to stall every time.
