I bought this car it was used by two other owners. I bought a new battery for this car but there is some kind of electrical problem with smell coming from vents and the radio system keeps shutting off. . Keeps giving me a message on the screen that says shit off admission or restart engine to save battery then my whole radio system turns off till I turn off my car. . . Also now it time 4 tries to start my engine. Dash board will turn on but not engine. .

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking abnormally and then stalled with the “service transmission” warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle shut off in the middle of the roadway. The contact was assisted by a police officer was nearby in moving the vehicle over to the shoulder. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The contact stated that occasionally while depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that occasionally while driving and exceeding 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. Additionally, the horn and the hazard lights failed to function as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.

Electrical power steering goes in and out and the dash displays “steering assist fault” warning, and the power steering goes out entirely. You can still turn, but it takes a lot more physical effort to do so. Since it goes in and out, it can happen at any time and is very hard to get diagnosed through a diagnostic if the mechanic or dealer cannot replicate the issue.

P0236 , p0238, p007d, p0456, charged air sensor a fault, boost sensor range/performance fault, and other faults , crank car engine service now pops up everytime, clear codes pops rite back up, car stumbles ,misfires , no boost, no throttle shuts off . Only had this car a week . Performed wire splice and anything I saw that I could do to fix this . No help making payments on a car I can't drive is very frustrating. Replaced sensors. These faults pop up within 2 seconds of clearing codes and starting vehicle everytime.

Engine light and red oil can symbol's keeps showing on the dashboard. Brake pedal is tight & hard when stopping when pressed on them.

Yesterday my air conditioner was working fine and today it only blows out hot air I truly believe somebody's tampering with my air conditioner as they were with my 2010 Ford Focus also. So my question to you is what do I do and what can I do about the car a/c I truly believe someone's tampering with my cars the air conditioner from a computer program somewhere in yamhill county oregon.

Not shifting into gear properly, slipping out of gear into what seems like neutral, downshifting. Also electrical problems, radio not functioning, speakers popping and static sounds even with vehicle completely off.

Wiring assembly, and tcm are a safety risk because of improper gear shifting and shuttering. The issue is reproduced with a battery swap on the vehicle it’ll cause improper grounding. No inspection, no warning signs until after improper shifting triggered limp mode no reverse and check engine along with transmission service message.

Bcm failure due to corrosion. Windscreen wash pump faulty. Fluid leaks into electrical components, travels through wiring, and into the bcm (body control module).

Unknown. Power steering assist fault message appeared. After driving the car on the road and stopping to fuel up and turning off the car the error message appeared. The power steering was not working making the steering wheel hard to turn. No warnings or errors prior and as well no error codes found via obd reader. Safety was put at risk as I was not able to turn the wheel when trying to take off after stopping. Several people have complained online already about this same issue.

Electrical power steering. While driving the steering suddenly locked up. There was no prior indication. Upon having a master mechanic check the vehicle, it was stated that it is a common problem seen by mechanics and after researching online searches, the Ford Focus vehicles from 2010-2014 have experienced the same issue. This is an absolute hazard. The cost to repair will be close to $4, 000. I am requesting that an immediate recall she be mandated by Ford. This was a close call for me on a main freeway.

This tcm issue is a known issue with Ford. They issued recalls on this in 2015 and 2017 and extending the coverage in 2023. Please put this on the recall list as it has affected many people.

1) each and every time I pop it fuel into my car, even if I'm just topping it off, when I start it it like starts to bog down like it's clogged or something, then just like that clears up. 2) while car is off, and no keys in ignition at all, my cars dashboard makes this almost clicking sound and I notice the fuel tank and gauge both shot b up to the top then drop back downs, it's strange, 3) sometimes when accelerating from hear the car almost stalks. . . That's v the only way I'd be by able to describe it.

When on freeway car suddenly displays an alert saying stop safely now and will shut off , while driving makes it impossible to properly control the car . It has done this on multiple occasions, on the freeway , on residential streets and also when starting from park and proceeding to drive car has suddenly stopped and unable to restart right away.

On 6/27/2024 when accelerating into traffic my vehicle stalled and almost caused an accident. Dash board display had two messages was code p0106 map sensor and hill start assist wasn't going to work. Possible safety recall 14s17 saying not for my vehicle.

I have been trying to get my car fixed but they will not honor the recalled part. I took it to another garage bc Ford is saying it's my clutch but I seem for my own eyes the only code was for the tcm. And then Ford told me they do not honor another mechanics diagnostics.

Vehicle won’t start on multiple occasions. Vehicle struggles to turn on and lag to turn off. Vehicle struggles to change gears to speed up.

P219a, p064d total system shutdown was not recrank. Was in the middle of a four-way intersection when car died. Independent service diagnose the problem have checked the Ford recall list and there are three recalls address to my vehicle oil pressure light battery light and check engine light.

It did the exact same thing it did in April! driving in traffic this time. The jerking, and not wanting to excelerate. . . Then jumps from drive to neutral doing 70 mph! on hwy 59! this is a safety concern at this point! make Ford fix this.

My radio stopped working and is now making horrible loud screeching and popping noises loud enough to startle me and almost cause a crash from the reaction I have to the loud sudden noises.

While driving around 12:30 pm on Thursday, 4/18/2024, the Focus electric displayed a "stop safely now" message and proceeded to cut power going to the electric motor, allowing the car only to coast as if it was in neutral. Luckily no vehicles were around in my lanes, as that easily could've caused an accident. Electric steering, regen braking, and air conditioning were all disabled. I was able to coast it into a nearby firehouse subs parking lot, and directly into a parking spot. Had to disconnect the 12 volt battery for 5 minutes and reconnect to hopefully reset the computers in the car. Still displayed ssn message after reconnection. I let the car sit for another 30 minutes and was able to start it up like nothing happened. Drove it home and read the stored dtcs, which were the following: ===becm dtc p0aa2:00-08=== code: p0aa2 - hybrid/ev battery positive contactor 'a' stuck open ===tcm dtc p0af8:16-08=== code: p0af8 - hybrid/ev battery system voltage ===gfm dtc u0111:00-08=== code: u0111 - lost communication with battery energy control module a it will be going to thomasville Ford on Wednesday April 24, 2024. That is the earliest they can accept it.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 50-55 mph, the steering wheel locked inadvertently. The message "transmission failure" was displayed. The contact veered to the side of the road and turned on the hazard lights. The contact stated that the vehicle continuously lost and regained electrical power independently. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the transmission was malfunctioning, and the contact was referred to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the tcm was replaced. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that the transmission clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under Ford campaign number: 19n08. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 97,069.

On 3/16/24, I was driving to the grocery store and didn't even drive 1/2 mile when I got a message on my dash that my transmission was over heating, while sitting at a traffic light. 28,000 miles on my Focus. I pulled into the parking lot that was there and shut the car off. I called aaa to have my car towed to mastercare automotive. Then I had to tow the car to sunrise Ford 5435 us-1. Ste 1. Fort pierce, FL 34982. Directions · (772) 461-6000. Because they have the equipment to run the diagnostic on my vehicle. I received a call that they have to put a $1,300 sensor in my vehicle in order for them to do a diagnostic test. I called Ford to see if they had any help with the vehicle as I was never told that my warranty ran out in Jan 2024 nor did they offer me an extended warranty on the vehicle (which I would of purchased if I knew that my warranty expired. I was also told that more then likely would need a new transmission at over $5,000. A car that only had 28. 000 miles on it shouldn't need a new transmission on it as I drive the speed limit and do not abuse my vehicle. The car that I was driving wasn't safe, if it had transmission problems, never warned about the transmission going right after the warranty ran out on the vehicle. I didn't even make it to the first transmission fluid change. Other then I receiving the message on my dashboard, I did not have any issues with the vehicle, no problems shifting the vehicle and no indications that the transmission was going to go out or I would of had my car in the shop to get my car repaired. Now I am left without a vehicle, no bus service and cannot afford to take a taxi or uber because I am disabled and don't make enough on social security to be able to afford these luxury of calling a cab or uber. I take car of my vehicle and have my mechanic go over my car twice a year when I have my oil changed. My records for my vehicle are at mastercare in port st lucie.

Transmission problems. I’ve almost wrecked a few times from my car stalling in intersections. First it had a delay in shifting where it would stall out before jolting into gear. Now it will not switch gears at all and is not driveable. I’ve been told that it is probably the tcm malfunctioning, but Ford did not extend the warranty on my test vehicle. They stopped it at 2016 models, claiming that 2017 onward the issue was fixed. Wrong. Countless searches online will tell you countless drivers have issues with their tcm going out. I was almost in a few different wrecks due to this problem(almost being hit in an intersection bc I couldn’t move) and now my car isn’t driveable and I cannot afford to replace the tcm right now. I feel scammed by Ford making such a crappy transmission system that is dangerous and unreliable. Problem confirmed by local transmission shop. I received no warnings on dash leading up to these issues.

The general information I have is my transmission is not working, and it causes the car to stall and jerk unexpectedly, it will be driving fine then aggressively slow down almost to a stop, then launch forward, which could cause an accident to the person in front of me or behind. When these events happen it’s on and off, and the stalling will follow multiple times during a driving period. The engine light will come on, and many mechanics we have talked to have said to either replace the transition or sell the car, and the transmission is the same price I paid for the car. It’s ultimately unfortunate because it is a great car, low miles, in great condition, and I am young into college with big loans and can’t afford to fix this car.

The washer fluid pump leaks causing liquid to make its way along the electrical wires leading to the body control module (bcm) and causing corrosion on the electrical connections and rendering the vehicle either inoperable or causing it to stall in some cases.

I have reported before my vehicle is and has been cyber attacked. This time around my horn has been disable. They turn on the radio, they turn on the light lights of the vehicle, they turn on the radio, they turn on the ac/heat control. If I take it in again, they are going to tell me nothing is wrong. This is very dangerous for me as a driver. I cannot drive a vehicle without a horn. I never heard from you guys on the last report I made. Not sure how this one is going to help. This Ford vehicle is dangerous! if you can please assist, I would appreciate it. Thank you!.

I have had several Ford Focuses and I’m not sure why I keep buying them. The transmission shudders or slips. Makes awful noises like grinding or something hitting the fan blade. I currently have 7 codes stored in the car but no check engine light. My garage thinks maybe it needs a new abs control module. The display screen goes black all the time and doesn’t come back on. Ford is aware of these issues in the 2018 models and continues to do nothing. I’ve been a loyal Ford buyer for years and I’m never buying “american made” again. They cut corners and produce trash vehicles that the consumer has to pay out of pocket for repairs. Current codes are p219a and c. U0121, u0140, u0256, u0452 and u2101. The car always makes a strange beeping noise. It sounds like a warning chime but no lights come on or anything. The car has awful fuel mileage currently. I live 15 mins from work with only 1 traffic light and it used half a tank for 4 days of just traveling 30 mins a day. You pay a decent amount for these cars and can’t rely on them. Shameful! the transmission issues have been happening since I bought the car in 2022. The codes, beeping and fuel mileage have been a recent issue within the last few months. It shakes. The vehicle is a safety concern not only for myself driving it, but others on the road.

While driving 70mph on the highway my oil pressure light came on and I loss all power to my engine. I tried pressing the brakes and nothing happened. I lost ability to accelerate and then the brakes got hard and locked up so therefore lost ability to stop. I was able to coast off of an exit off the highway and had to try to not cause an accident until my car finally coasted to a stop. I had it towed to portage Ford in portage wisconsin and they told me that there is an advance notice recall but would not diagnose my car. They told me that they cannot do anything because the recall is just an advance notice and they are unable to open a repair order on it. They told me that because they could not open a repair order they could not verify that it was in fact the recall and told me that I would need to purchase a new engine completely. My oil had been recently changed and the oil levels were checked and they were good as well as the consistency. The recall is exactly word for word what happened but they told me the engine would be $6,000 and the labor would be 25 hours and likely another $6,000 so they qualified my vehicle as a total loss and that they wouldn't be able to give me more than $1,000 for my trade in. They said the kelly blue book value was only a little under $8,000. My vehicle has a little over 50,000 miles on it only and was just out of powertrain warranty by maybe a month or two. This forced me into having to purchase a new car. They told me that if they found that it was related to the recall once they were able to open a repair order they would cut me a check for $5,000 because my car is obviously worth more than $1,000. I had just replaced the battery, front brakes and tires. No body damage or interior damage that would qualify the vehicle as lower trade in value. I bought it brand new and only owed $1,641on it and it would have been paid off completely. This is clearly the recall but they refused to acknowledge it.

Purchased car 9/30 and have driven less than 3600 miles. Engine slow to accelerate, also revving up while at a stop light, lurching forward, lagging, and recently on 1/3 not drive able and had to be towed. Engine light on with codes p2837 and p287b. Two different garages (1. Fritz Ford and mcnairs auto) have diagnosed this vehicle to have a defective tcm freezing up gears, causing transmission failure. Notified Ford motors in mi, they advised me to submit a report to NHTSA to help. Repair cost is 8600. 00 at mcnairs, 9600. 00 at fritz Ford in riverside, CA no warranty on this car! please help!.
