1 Headlights Turn Off While Driving problem of the 2012 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 09/06/2019

I recently submitted a complaint and received a purge valve recall from Ford. The vehicle was taken in on sept 6 and repaired. on sept 11th I went to start the vehicle and it hesitated to start. I tried again it started and a notification came on stating transmission malfunction service now. I had my transmission fixed in October 2018 and still have had constant issues. The car still stalls and goes in and out of gears. The car hesitates when turning or pressing on gas to accelerate. after a recent oil change the employee tried to change my headlight as it went out and 4 bulbs later he determined the wiring on the vehicle is horrible. on Nov 2nd my car hesitates to start and check engine light returns stating transmission malfunction. I brought the car into a shop and they thought to change the battery and pulled a code showing clutch position sensor in transmission. The passenger rear seat belt also has a malfunction. im still paying on this vehicle and still have 11000 to go. Every year there is a constant issue. Im not covered under the warranty and when I was at the dealership stated the car didn't need work and wouldn't repair it. my biggest fear is driving with my children and the car stalls while turning and someone getting hurt. Ive spent thousands of dollars on this vehicle for the same issues within this transmission and Ford doesn't want to fix it.

3 Headlights Turn Off While Driving problem of the 2012 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

I have recently had an ongoing problem where my dash lights turn off, head lights turn off, radio turn off, and a message comes on the dashboard saying "hill start assist unavailable". The radio turns back on after about 20 seconds. The dangerous part is when the speedometer shuts off and I cannot tell how fast I am going. I have contact the dealer about this problem, and taken the car in for service on this and they claim there is nothing wrong with the car. I already had a problem with my transmission where I had a full replacement and they are refusing to take any action regarding this problem. This vehicle is unsafe for anyone to drive until they figure this out. I dont know who else to contact regarding this issue since I have gone to Ford, the dealers, as well as independent shops and they all claim they cant find a problem.

4 Headlights Turn Off While Driving problem of the 2001 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

Headlight failure. With engine running, when the headlight switch is turned on, the headlights (both) do not always go on. Also, after being on for a while (often within 10 minutes, almost always within 20 minutes), both headlights will suddenly turn off on their own. When headlights go off, dashboard lights, and other outside lights, remain on. When the switch is on, but headlights have gone off, if the high beams are toggled on and then off, the headlights will go on (for a while). This sequence occurs repeatedly. Unless it is dark (e. G. If in twilight or in daytime rain), or unless I can see the headlight reflections, I have no way of knowing the status of my headlights. Dealership initially replaced a relay, without solving problem. Dealership then replaced the "multi-function switch" controlling turn signals and high beams, with seeming success. I am in possession of the failed original-equipment "multi-function switch". Dealership was understanding and helpful, but would not treat this intermittent, sudden, repeated headlight failure as a critical safety issue under warranty. This vehicle has been subject to gas pump failure, and to front suspension spring breakage, which were covered under warranty. [note also that car design does not allow headlights to turn on or stay on when engine is off - this may save accidental battery drain, but deprives operator of illumination or signaling ability that may be needed in emergency situations. ].
