I went to have my tires rotated on my 2013 Ford Focus se and I was told that all my lugnuts need to be replaced because they changed form from the heat. In all the cars that I have had this has never been an issue. Numerous people have had the same issue.

The car uses two part lugs that swell and degrade over time, and some point, cannot be used to hold on a wheel that has been removed. That can be a hazard, for example, if a person needs to replace a flat tire on a highway and then cannot reattach the lug nuts. I recently had to replace the lug nuts for safety reasons, and while I could find ones that fit the post they screw on to, they were nor wide enough to hold the wheel cover.

Nhtsa recall 18v-735 and code p0606 indicates a fault in the ecm/pcm /p06b8 internal control module transaction.
The lug nuts that Ford uses on my car are poorly designed, and will swell. When this happens, it is impossible to remove them (such as when you have a flat tire) and they need to be broken off, and new lug nuts put on. If you have a flat, you have to get your car towed. Ford knows this is an issue and refuses to do anything to make it right, infect they still use this faulty parts.
Going through rear tires. Causing it to act like rear wheel drive vehicle on wet pavement. Had an alignment dine about 1 month ago and had good tires on it, they are now bald. Also back end slides when hitting even small bumps. First time was about 2 years ago, got it aligned and new tires was fine tile about 2 months ago. Got decent tires and an alignment its already doing itvagain.

On July 7, 2015, I bought 4 tires 117632 affinity touring bl p195/60r15 87t with a 70,0000 mile warranty. I paid $415. 58 which included four of the before mentioned tires; nevada recycling fee; lifetime new tire wheel balance labor; lifetime rubber valve; scrap tire recycling fee; and tire installation. I bought these tires at firestone complete auto care green valley 220 north stephanie street, henderson, nevada 89074, phone#702-434-0692. I had 59,284 miles on my car. On December 31, 2019, because of the tires going flat and the wear bar too low for me to drive safely on these tires, I had to buy four new tires. I had 106,125 miles. I still had 23,159 miles left on my 70,000 miles warranty. I bought 4 114572 primewell ps830 195/60r 15 88hbl dot#y9k5d8hk3210 tires prie $47. 99. The firestone located at 1323 boulder city parkway, boulder city, nevada 89005 phone#294-0098 gave me a credit of $26. 80 for all four tires charging $41. 29 for each tire. I paid a total of $303. 20 for these tires. I am very upset that I had to buy cheaper tires because the better tires I bought did not last the full $70,000 miles.

The lug nuts on this vehicle are improperly designed, and this issue is well know by the Ford dealer, (felix sabates Ford, charlotte, nc) and tire shops such as goodyear. The aluminum over-cap on them becomes "swelled" and deformed to the point that a lug wrench will not fit on them, after only a few uses. This can be more than just a nuisance, as it can leave someone stranded in the event of a flat tire. Ford refused to rectify the issue with replacement lugs nuts when I called their customer service. The dealership has also been told by Ford that they have no intention of compensating the dozens of customers that this is happening to. I had to pay for after-market replacements. There is no way lug nuts should be defective after only 3 years (5 tire rotations), and the dealer did most of them. I paid $62 + 8% tax for replacements (while I was at goodyear). See photos of deformed lug nuts and receipt for replacements.

Lugnuts on wheels are rounded and swelling making it impossible for the tool to fit over them to remove. This is a safety hazard because this will prolong the time a person is on the side of the road increasing the chance of harm.
My vehicle makes a grinding sound like tge floor is going to fall out , my gas tell me im 50 miles untill empty and I run out also when I turn my car makes a like a screch sound and also shakes at the same time. My car is getting do hot its melting thr plastic and tire covers to where its rubbing on my tires. My vehicle does not want to catch spped seems like it wants to die.
My car began making really loud humming that got louder as I drove faster. On occasion I would feel it slip at high speeds but I knew it wasn't the transmission. It turned out that all 4 sets of the wheel bearings were locking up . Because the bearings are supposed to be in a sealed environment they shouldn't have been exposed to the elements for one, and I had to replace the entire wheel hub for all 4 since the bearings alone are not serviceable.
Tire sensor fault , dougles tires loosing air.

I purchased 2 bf goodrich g-force sport comp-2 radial 205/50. R16 87z sl tires on April 15, 2019 from amazon, installed on front tire positions on may 9, 2019. Rear tires are general g-max as-03 which are the same size and were used the summer before with no issues, still significant tread life left and no damage. All four tires were inflated to 36 psi after installation. When driving on any kind of moisture, rain night before or drizzle or pouring rain, front tires do not grip road surface and have almost led to numerous accidents at varying speeds on rural roads, city streets, and highways, anywhere from 20mph to 75mph. I have now become used to the danger of the bf goodrich tires and drive extremely slowly in wet conditions. As I have a manual transmission front wheel drive vehicle, I always put the new tires on the front to ensure traction in bad weather conditions, the bf goodrich tires have almost gotten me killed more than a handful of times. As stated by another consumer, I also had trouble mounting one of the bf goodrich tires to the wheel as it did not want to bead and now the tire pressure in that tire will fluctuate, which has led to daily pressure checks. I have never had any issues with any general brand tires. This is the first time that I have purchased bf goodrich tires and I never will ever again. I have driven up to 180kph on the german autobahn in lesser quality vehicles with cooper brand tires, and I have never been as scared as I have been doing 70mph in drizzle with bf goodrich tires. It feels like driving on ice, no handling, no control, just sliding. I'm grateful for the general tires on the rear which have kept me from crashing, and will be purchasing as soon as possible(the only reason I have kept the bf goodrich for this long is because I hoped they just needed to be broken in a little but it has been over a month and it's still scary).

Tires are wearing out on the inside a lot faster. Am on 3rd set the first two sets did this and the dealer said the alignment was fine. I. Feel this is a safety hazard as a cursory inspection of the tires looks ok but if you get on the ground to check the inside part the wear will be alarming. I went online to check message boards for this model and numerous other people had the same issue.
Takata recall I noticed that this vehicle "chugs" when it is sitting idle, and that sometimes it feels as if it wants to stall while idling. There is already a recall out for this issue but I have not been informed of it. It says that 10/22/2018 there was a recall for this issue. Onto the next issue, without warning my vehicle began to shake (this car is my daily driver) and then I began to hear whining whenever I would turn! help!.
My 2013 Ford Focus tire rod "slipped out" and was replaced. The part was not broken but the threads on the male bolt slipped out and became disconnected while exiting a parking. The part came out during the transition from reverse to drive while stopped and straightening the wheel. The female part on the tire rod became disconnected. I have concern that that is a part malfunction and this should not happen. I have a video of the parts at the time of the incident that shows the part is not been broken and did not have damage. This car has not been involved in any accidents. There is rust on the threads and I feel that contributed to it coming apart. I believe that this part is a manufacturers defect.
Takata recall I just bought this car in 03-08-19 I notice the car wheels, transmission shakes its like it didn't want to go when you hit the gas. I thought maybe its out of liniment but something is not right. In motion in city and highway, turning. I have not taken to dealer ship I saw that they are some recall on this car. If so what next do I?.

Hi, ortega highway in California. Got a flat tire. I pulled over to change to the spare and can't get the lug wrench (oem) on the nuts. . . (drizzling steadily) I see I am risking stripping the lugs. I'm in the forest- cell signal is spotty. I'm left no choice but to drive on my flat tire slowly to a gas station (several miles) and they can't get it off. I call for a tow to tire shop. They show up in a car w/ a 4 way lug wrench. . Because of course, they assumed they had to fit. Must be my ineptness. . And he can't get one lug loose. And now I miss my appt. , I have to wait another two hours for a tow truck, while several creepy people want to "help" me. . . . (help me get thrown in their trunk they mean. . ) I'm making light of it now, but I really resent my safety being put in jeopardy and not even given a heads up when Ford knows it's a problem. . . No surprise, I've got a Focus transmission . Any integrity & ownership of defective design is non existent. . I can forgive mistakes, they happen. And as long as I am aware of them, I can prepare. . . But Ford doesn't give a damn about our safety. I've had it, no trust is left. Cost benefit analysis is their concern, which saves them money short term yay, for stockholders & ceo bonuses. Ignoring their long term loss of customers due to unethical behavior. Tangent over. . I made it to the tire shop 15 minutes before close. That shop was the place I first learned of the lug nut "2 metal swelling and stripping" issues. He had a special tool just for Ford lug nuts. This has happened several times since then. . . I have had to leave my car on the side of the road, also, drive it to the tire shop slowly. Damaging my rim. . . But my real concern is getting a flat tire that I cannot change myself because the lugs strip/ swell in some isolated area. . . Was lucky it was day that first time, scary as hell. . . Ford puts drivers in unsafe situations because irresponsibility is now it's business model. Cost us time, money, & piece of mind.
Oem aluminum lug nuts deform over time after routine maintenance. Lug nuts swell and become stuck to the wheel. Provided oem tire wrench cannot remove lug nuts. I was almost hit by a car trying to change a flat tire. This is a serious road hazard. Manufacturer needs to perform recall and provide replace with non-defective lug nuts. Other drivers have reported same issue, but Ford thus far refused to issue a recall. . Read more...
I purchased this car from schaller auto world on 11/14 18 and the four tires on the car by state law are unsafe to be on the road, state law is 5. 0 and above, all four were measured to be 2. 0 and above to be below 3. 0. I went to them with my complaint and they won't help me . I have prove with pictures and paperwork to back my situation up. What am I to do?.
Ive had my lug nuts swallon and unable to change my own tire. On three different occasions. Nail in my tire. Took it to the dealership immediately the clamped 2 times that they fixed my lug nuts and never did. Ive spoke to several other Focus owners and have the same issue. The power train clutch has been replaced 4 times in the last three in a half years. Ive had my car stall out in me several times at a stop light. It takes it a minute to slip into reverse. Doesnt matter what gear you are switching it from it will go into netural/park before clicking into reverse.
When going about 55 mph my car starts to get very loud, nothing seems to be wrong it's as if there's a leaf blower inside the vehicle. As I slow down, use the brakes, the sound slowly gets more quiet.
Lug nuts. I hit a curb near my house cutting the side wall of my tire. Time went flat. When I went to change the tire the lug wrench would not fit onto the lug nut. I called Ford for help the told me it was a common problem. The aluminum cover on nut "swells" making it impossible for the wrench to fit. I had to pound the wrench on with a rubber mallet, and knock it off after loosening the nut. If I was on a freeway with out access to a mallet I would have been stranded and in a very dangerous situation. Ford told me it is a common problem with all manufactures, les schwab where I bought my tires told me they see it every day, a common problem, the tire shop at costco where I work told me the same. I sounds to me you are putting peoples live in danger by letting car company's get away with this. They should at least be supplying drivers with rubber mallets.
Went to dealer for oil change & tire rotation and was told all lug nuts had to be replaced because rust made them swell. Cap was never sealed to prevent rust from building up between silver cap on lug nut and steel nut itself, only four years old and had to replace all 20 lug nuts.
The lug nuts on all tires had to be replaced twice in less than a three year period.
The rear wheel bearings had to be replaced after making a very loud noise when the car was in motion, worsening with speed. They have had to be replaced twice since then and that was just over 6 months ago! the mechanic informed us that there does not appear to be anything wrong that would cause them to keep wearing out.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated. In addition, the front driver's side wheel was wobbling. Furthermore, the engine stalled and the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road. The contact had to restart the vehicle and the check engine indicator turned off and on. Thornhill Ford Lincoln (u. S. 119 north 500 Ford fairlane, chapmanville, wv 25508, (304) 855-8300) stated that there was no warranty coverage; therefore, the contact would have to pay for diagnostic testing. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline) and took the vehicle to the same dealer for the recall repair. The failure recurred after approximately one month. The dealer wanted to charge for another diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 53,000.
The rear passenger bearing has failed on my vehicle. The bearings appear to be recalled on the year and make of my vehicle but the dealership refuses to replace them. Nhtsa campaign #01i017000,.

While driving home through the village at under 30mph, slowing down from 30mph because of traffic stop ahead, the right front side of vehicle crashed down and control was lost causing me to sideswipe parked vehicle. The pieces of the front end appear to have failed and were falling all over the road.
Got a flat tire. Called roadside assistance and his tools were not able to remove the bolts nor was my crowbar from Ford. Stripped bolts and swelling. Took car to discount tire they said this is common with Ford cars and that the materials used on the bolts were not of good quality. Recall should be looked into. I had the flat while I was at home. But if this would have happened on the highway I would have had to call a tow truck. Which is not safe. Advised to get all of the bolts replaced.
Air bag light is stuck on randomly makes a "dinging" sound. Tires continue to wear out at a rapid speed, ignition switch will get stuck an engine will not turn over-can't find a cause. And the a/c stopped working this week, mechanic looking for a leak unable to figure out these issues and why they all started with in past month. Each problem they can't find solutions or tell me it's probably a sensor or the heat. They hook it up to the computer and it shows nothing wrong?!?!.

Lug nuts are unable to be removed with lug nut wrench. Ford dealer says the lug nuts are defective and need to be replaced due to 'swelling'. Ford corporate says these are wear and tear item and will not replace. This is a critical safety item as the tires are unable to be removed or changed to a spare tire after a flat tire occurs.
Ford Focus is highly vulnerable to electric defects in which indicators appear for a long period of time after being attained to, brake tends to slip unexpectedly, bluetooth has stopped working, usb ports, brake lamp faults. My main concern for other drivers and my self is the vulnerability to sharp turn and the crucial acceleration delays. These problems were attained to and maintained by Ford multiple times, problems occur within 1-2weeks after maintenance. I'm concerned even more about the performance and shaking at high speed as well that hasn't been revised.
Passenger side front ball joint snapped, causing lower control arm bolt to snap-separated and damaged axle. Car skidded approximately 70 ft before stopping. Vehicle was moving forward on a city street.
