Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Freestyle. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle was started and she noticed a loud knocking sound coming from the transmission. The contact drove off and the sound stopped however the throttle control/transmission light and the service engine light were illuminated and the vehicle would not accelerate over 20 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
