Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problems of the 2009 Ford Fusion

Takata recall. Vehicle stationary on January 18, 2019 the passenger air bag inflator was replaced under the 18s01 recall, Ford part number 8e5z 54044a74 ad. On September 10, 2019 brought car into local quirk Ford dealership for service because air bag cover was no longer was flush to the dashboard. Ford service said problem was due to "worn dashboard" and not covered under recall. See first attached picture. Called Ford customer service on sept 11, 2019 was told problem was not covered under any recalls or any warranties, case number cas-24226208-s8r0v4. My concern is that by having an open corner (see second attached picture) foreign objects could accidentally fall into this space without the drivers knowledge (ie. A penny, dime, etc) and if the air bag deployed a serious injury could occur. Specifically, foreign objects could become air borne when air bag deployed. A small piece of metal like a penny or dime could cause fatal damage to the passengers in the car if air bag deployed. Not sure if this should be covered under the original takata recall or if another recall should be issued. In any case I believe this is a serious safety issue which should be brought to your attention.

Takata recall I received a notice of the takata recall (passenger frontal airbag inflator) in February 2018. It is almost December 2018. If this is such a safety issue, why is the recall status still listed "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available"?? when will a remedy be available??.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer anderson Ford(2500 wildcat dr. Lincoln ne. ) who replaced the air bag inflator under the NHTSA recall campaign number 18v046000(air bags). After retrieving the vehicle the contact discovered that the upper left corner of the passenger side dashboard that houses the air bag module was not completely secured. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who indicated that the air bag module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but approximately 3 weeks later the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 153,432. Jft.

There has been recall for the airbag inflators on this vehicle since 2016 and the Ford dealership indicates it is still waiting on the part to fix. We have been trying to get this issue fixed since notice of recall in 2016.

Takata recall - airbag inflator - we received notice January 2017 that our airbag needed replaced, we still do not have it replaced, no remedy to the situation yet!.

Takata inflators. I received a card in the mail that said my car was under a recall alert. I called several repair shops in my area as instructed on the takata recall page online and was told the replacement airbags weren't available anywhere. I was also told the repair shops have been waiting a very long time for the replacement parts.

Takata recall. I was contacted over a year ago that my airbag inflator needed to be replaced. I was put on a wait list for this part to become available. I called my dealership again today, and I was told that the parts are still not available. The dealership told me that they do not know when the part will be available, and it will honestly, probably never get fixed because takata has filed bankruptcy! I live in louisiana, which is a high priority state due to our hot and humid weather. I find Ford's handling of this dangerous problem to be completely unacceptable! my family / children drive around in this car, and now, we are actually in more danger if we do get into an accident!.

Takata recall. Vehicle was stationary. I received a recall notice June 2016 from Ford saying the passenger frontal airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash. I still have not received a replacement airbag for the passenger side and it has been well over a year. I made an appointment to see the Ford dealer and went to the Ford dealer November 1, 2017, and spoke to a female to have them look at my Ford Fusion 2009 car as the air bag on the passenger side is trying to come out from the dashboard, and we have not even had a car accident/crash. She told me that they still didn't have the replacement airbags which I already knew. I wanted them to look at the passenger side of the dashboard to see that the airbag was coming out of the dashboard which I think is dangerous as I was told by another male over the phone previously that it was dangerous and that I should make an appointment to have it checked out. They would not even look at the car. I had to tape down the area on the dashboard where the airbag is trying to come out of the dashboard. They wasted my time coming to see them and they knew what the situation was about as my wife had explained it to them over the phone when she made the appointment for me.

Takata recall dealership does not know replacement date. I have been waiting for over a year for replacements. I called a local Ford dealership today; I was informed they do not know when replacement inflators will be in stock.

Takata recall - months ago, I have received the notice for owners of vehicles with takata airbag. I contacted my nearest dealership in tuscaloosa, alabama. However, they said that they do not have airbag inflators, also, they said that I should wait until Ford sends a letter to notify me that I can get a free repair. I only want to be sure that my car does not contain an effective airbag and if it does, I need to schedule a free repair as soon as possible.

:takata recall: had a recall of takata inflators on right hand passenger side and was told not to use. This recall was on July 2017. Nothing has been done yet and I have not been able tocarry passengers on the right hand front passenger side.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v024000 (air bags) for the passenger frontal air bag inflator; however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that recall remedy parts were not available. The contact inquired with multiple unknown dealers who stated that parts were not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Takata inflators. My issue is the length of time in getting my airbags replaced. The recall was effective January 2017. I was notified by letter March 2017. I have called my local Ford dealer several times, and each time told the parts are not available. It's an unnecessary stress in driving this car knowing of the potential issues with the airbags. I just want the parts replaced. That's all.

I was given back in March 2017 a paper stating my airbags on my 2009 Ford Fusion were defected. Months later in approximately October 2017 I received a post card stating tk holdings inc is filling bankruptcy, who made my cars airbags. The post card also stated ""if your vehicle contains a defective or potentially defective airbag inflator and is under recall, contact your nearest dealership immediately to schedule a free repair". When I called the Ford dealer this December stated they would fix it when they get the parts in. I have been told this since I first called back in March too. It is a huge safety risk to be driving my car, if the airbags do not work properly. This needs fixed as soon as possible, but Ford is not helping at all and will not replace these in a timely manner. This is unacceptable and a safety risk.

Takata recall passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture. I received safety recall notice 17s01/NHTSA recall 17v-024 on March 2017. I have not received the letter from Ford motor company that parts are available and to contact dealer as of october26,2017?.

Takata inflators I am trying to remedy a recall on my vehicle and have been told by the dealership in which I bought my car that I am unable to do so because the manufacturer is not providing the needed equipment or parts. In the recall description it says that if the airbag deploys the passengers could be killed, how am I supposed to feel comfortable driving myself or my young son around in a vehicle with such issues? plus, apparently this was first an issue back in July of 2016, so I am not exactly sure why there isn't a solution to this issue yet.

Takata recall. Passenger airbag inflator replacement. I am still waiting for a resolution to this problem. It has been ten months.

Takata recall: we received a notice on July 23, 2016 that our passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture and send metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. We've called our local Ford every few months since then to see if they have a replacement air bag. We just called again this morning and were told that the replacement was still not available and "parts to be determined". We've been driving an unsafe car for 16 months with no replacement in sight. Can you do anything to speed this up?.

Takata inflators have not received any free replacement of my air bags. It's been since July 2016. I've called everyone. Dealer say they don't have the parts. Filed complaints at Ford corp. As well.

The passenger front airbag inflator could rupture if involved in crash. Issue was identified in 2016 and there is still no remedy available.

Takata recall. My vehicle has an airbag inflator recall as of June 1st 2016. A vehicle with a safety feature defect is not safe to drive, and loaner vehicles are not being issued. Why am I subject to injury or possible death because of a faulty part that hasn't been replaced? my car is not safe to drive because of the takata recall, and there is not yet a remedy for the recall. It's been 15 months since the recall was issued, and nothing has been done. I've been told by a Ford motor company customer service representative and the customer service manager, that there is no issue with the vehicle and it is safe to drive. Which is wrong because if everything was fine then there wouldn't be a recall on it. And why is it that Ford isn't giving out loaner or rental vehicles to consumers who are affected by the recall? why is it that NHTSA and Honda advise that their vehicles effected by the recall only be driven to an authorized dealer for repair, but for Fords NHTSA says they are safe to drive? it shouldn't matter what make or model, if it is affected by the recall then it isn't safe to drive. I should not be expected to drive an unsafe vehicle, just because the parts aren't available. That is putting so many lives at risk. I, as should others affected, be issued a loaner or rental vehicle at the companies expense, for having a defecting part in their vehicle. We shouldn't have to wait around like a sitting duck hoping that nothing happens. This needs to addressed and fix right away.

Takata recall. I have been trying for nearly 2 years for Ford to resolve this inflator issue. I've been told multiple times the parts are not yet available. I understand this is a very large recall, but 2 years is unreasonable. I need this repaired as soon as possible.

Takata inflators I bought my Fusion in 2013 . Maybe about a year and a half later one day my airbag light came on out of the blue. My car warrenty at the I believe expired. I took it to a Ford dealership and was charge I believe $99 for a diagnostic. I maybe wrong I may need to find the report from back in 2014 but I believe they said it was a bag air installed in on passenger side and it would be 900 to fix. I said no because I was a student I couldn't afford that. I have just accepted the fact it was no good. I then see this recall I got notified on and it got me wondering. So I just wanted to send this to be noted under my VIN.

Ford sent a recall on the airbags and not on the inflator which take longer and longer to show inflation on dash light.
