Automatic Emergency Braking problem #1

My brakes failed but I had them changed twice and that wasn’t the problem I had the cylinder change and still no brakes when I bought it it had some issues with the brakes going to the floor.

Automatic Emergency Braking problem #2

Abs advancetrac system failure results in extended brake pedal travel required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The condition does not result in a loss of braking function and the vehicle can be brought to a controlled stop.

Automatic Emergency Braking problem #3

All of the abs and parking brake lights come on and won't go off. We took it to a henderson Ford, and they said our anti-lock brake module failure. They have to order a new part and it will be a long time before to get the part. I heard there was a recall on 2010 abs brake system, but when I put in VIN number it says there is no recall.

Automatic Emergency Braking problem #4

When driving my brake system (abs) lit up on the dash and I had to put additional force on the brakes in order to stop. There was no warning that occurred prior to the dash warning coming on. I took the car to krieger Ford service department and they could not locate any issue with the brake system. They released the car back to me and it remained parked for 3 days. On the 4th day I tried to drive the car and the same alerts happened again. I took the car back to Ford and later they found that the abs module and applicable parts had failed. When I asked about the recall, the service center said there were no recalls available for my car.

Automatic Emergency Braking problem #5

I have done a brake job recently replacing the rear brakes and repaired master cylinder. Car has been inspected by a mechanic who says they have done everything they could and the brakes are not working properly. The brakes have to be pressed all the way to the floor and will not stop. Fsa 19s54 is a recall he says was never done and suggested I go to dealer to have it done; however, when I make the attempt to the dealer says that only the air bag and the throttle are under recalls and that is all they can fix. Reason for this safety recall # fsa 19s54 states that in some of the affected vehicles, a chemical reaction between aged dot 3 brake fluid and the zinc plating inside the hydraulic control unit (hcu) may result in a gel formation. A normally closed valve may be stuck open, which may result in extended brake pedal travel. This seems to be what is happening. I am taking to san antonio's northside Ford as soon as I can to do the airbag recalls(Ford's number for these recall is 21s12, 18s01, 16s26, 18s34, 19s01 & 21s05. ) and the throttle ( recalls that Ford told me about. I do not understand why when I google recall that I see the airbags recall for driver and passenger side and the abs hydraulic brake recall but do not see the one Ford said about the throttle. At the very least the information could be passed down throughout your system. Other recalls, 11 total, need to be addressed if not already. I happen to know northside Ford actually attempted to charge me for some of these things as I still have that invoice with the recommendations. . Read more...

Automatic Emergency Braking problem #6

Frequent failure of electric brake assist. Failure occurs without any prior warning and despite sufficient brake fluid being in master cylinder reservoir. Alarms and notices appear on the driver display panel as the brakes are failing. Can occur at start up or while actively driving the auto. Occurs across all temperature ranges and weather (moisture) conditions. Adversely affects driver's ability to safely use brakes to stop the car. Nhtsa issued safety recall applicable to non-hybrid Ford Fusions for the same issue and the same model year as my car. Mechanically, the electric brake assist systems are idnetical in non-hybrid and hybrid variants of 2010 Fusion. Attached photo illustrates notices that appear on driver display panel when brakes fail.

Automatic Emergency Braking problem #7

On approximately August 25, 2022 I noticed that my brake pedal had to be depressed further than usual, so I took it to a mechanic, who diagnosed hydraulic problems and did considerable repair work. That appeared to resolved the issue, but the problem recurred about September 7. The mechanic then identified a "silent recall" for replacement of a part in the automatic braking system -- # 19v904000. When I scheduled my vehicle for the driver airbag recall work, I was told my particular 2010 Ford Fusion was not eligible for the brake repair, even though my car's symptoms axactly match the description for #19v904000. I paid $450 for the work my mechanic did, but the problem was not resolved; and my Ford dealer says they can't repair it, either.

Automatic Emergency Braking problem #8

This is a Ford Fusion hybrid 2010 vehicle. The problem I have is vehicle won't stop after depressing the brake pedal. This problem has occurred few time but not always. We can't drive this vehicle due to this safety issue. Also we went landers Ford collierville TN. The report that the booster and abs needs to be replaced costing above $ 2500. In added that brake disc needs to be turned and pads replaced costing extra $1200. Looking at the problem and the recalls. Recall # 19s54 closely associated to our issue. Please advise.
