Power stering went out on 2010 Ford Fusion. Dash notifications: service advance trac & power steering assist fault. Seeing too many posts on the same issue.
Interior driver side door handle would not open door. Made appointment with Ford service to check safety problem issue. Ford replaced and corrected interior door handle issue. Cost was approximately $260. 00 dollars.
Ford has had a problem with their ac equipment since 2006. They have ignored this problem and have left to owner for repairs. The problem has nothing to do with the ac but with the temperature sensor evaporator. Which can either over heat or freeze up behind the dash. It cost most owner a high labor cost for the replacement of this deffect that Ford is aware of. Vehicles involve with this problem are not just the Ford Fusion but also the Lincoln LS as wellas the 2012-2014 Fusions. Beings that Ford knows about the problem, they bare the responsibilty to rectify the defect.
In a nut shell the car would not accelerate properly it kept dying out every time I would mash on the accelerator. Went to autozone and had a scanner put on the vehicle and a number of codes came back pointing to the throttle accelerator control when looking for the part it came back as the entire throttle body. Then come to find out the part had to be ordered, then it could nto be ordered from any retailer, went to the dealer one day to get the part and it was purchaseable, went back the next day to find it was a recall on that part went to another dealer to have the recall honored and they gave me this spill about the cost of a diagnostic test, saying it had to be done before they could know for sure if it was the throttle body. Then later that day they call back saying it was some kind of air hose that a rat had chewed through. Sounds like a bunch of hoorah to me. Tell me what do you think.
Every time engine starts, Ford Fusion dash displays two (2) fault codes: cross traffic system fault, and check rear park aid. Both fault alerts clear after pressing controls on the steering wheel. However, both, the rear park aid, and the cross traffic system stopped working. Each provides unique audible buzzing¿ alerts when auto is in reverse to warn of an impending crash/contact with a person or object. Two safety system features that no longer worked. The 2010 Ford Fusion was out of warranty, (4 years old, less than 8,500 miles on odometer) so I had to pay the dealership about $150. 00 to diagnose the problem. The dealership diagnosed the problem as a broken, and non-working speaker in the top of the rear seat. The cost to replace this speaker would be approximately, $350. 00, and there would be no guarantee that this will fix the 2 problems, although the mechanic said he was 98% sure the diagnostic was correct. Ford motor company offered to pay $200 toward the repair. Result: two safety systems are now working, but I had to pay $300. 00 of the $500. 00 cost to diagnose and repair these safety system features. A speaker in the top of the rear seat¿ is a part of an auto that an owner expects would last for the life of the auto, and certainly more than 8,500 miles on an odometer. Since this speaker is an integral part of both safety systems, not subject to any wear and tear, its failure to work/operate as designed is an obvious design or product fault, and something that Ford motor should repair at its expense.
I was turning left into a driveway and my car lost acceleration but did not quit running. I pulled over to the side of street and turned the car off for a few minutes and the car started back up with no problem. There was no check engine light or any other indicator that something was wrong. It happened again same day same thing. It worries me that I might be killed the next time. I called the Ford dealership and was told this has happened to several of their customers but no recalls are on record. This is very dangerous and Ford should take a close look at this before someone is killed or seriously injured.
2010 Ford Fusion, maintenance light comes on and all gas/throttle is cut to rough idle with no response. This incident has almost caused accidents to to stalling while trying to cross roads. You have to remove the key and restart 1-4 times before the light goes away and you can use the throttle, all while it may shut off again after you get moved just a little way.
I was very worried when my car appeared to just turn off as I was slowing down from the interstate. I thought it was a fluke, bad connection and hoped it would never do it again. Car did start back up with no issues, that day. Unfortunately, it happened a lot on Saturday 7/20/13. I parked the car and never drove it Sunday. Called Ford first thing Monday - 7/22/13 and they were too busy to help. I had to take my car to a non dealership and they confirmed it was the the throttle body. I had previously researched and wrote down the codes that would possibly come up. As the other company stated this is a known issue, I thankfully have an extended warranty to cover cost but I was advised that this is around $1,000. Ford is charging me my deductible for a known saftely issue that has not been recalled? why? when? im hoping by adding to the list we can make sure they take care of their customers before they issue arises rather than after we are stuck on the side of the road. Ive been without a car for 2 days and no concern of Ford. I need a reliable car, as im still paying for it. . Read more...
The car began to stall on the freeway, so I had to drive it off the freeway after it had turned off twice. The first time, it went off in the middle of the freeway as I luckily veered to the side and no one was hurt. I took it to be serviced. It turns out there was a faulty throttle control: the throttle actuator was stuck closed (p2111), and also would get stuck open (p2112). This must have happened while I was on the freeway. The auto service center ran the tests and tested my vehicle after replacing that throttle assembly and now my car runs back to normal. Also, my rear parking aid back up tone is out of order. Sometimes it just beeps constantly and there is nothing behind the vehicle. It seems to be working in order, but once in a while it does that.

The first time I was driving was may 11, 2013 I was going 40 miles an hour. All of a sudden the car starting slowing down to zero and the wrench light came on so I pulled off the road. I turned the car completely off and restarted the car after a few min. This time it got me home with no issues. This happened again today June 12, 2013. I was driving about 35 miles an hour and it just quit (throttle power outage) scared the day lights out of me once more. Again, I pulled over and restarted the car after a pause. I then drove immediately to bo beuckman of west county, ellisville, mo. They put a call into Ford hotline. I waited for an hour they still did not return a call. Randy told me that he thought it maybe a throttle issue. He called for the part and it is on back order. (that is not a good sign) I told him I did not feel comfortable driving the car---afraid someone might hit me if it stalls again. He could not give me a loaner car or satisfaction, just took my cell number and will call back when he hears from Ford. On line, I see this is a major issue. Why wasn't there a recall for replacing the throttle body. I am very upset with Ford and scared to drive my car until they find out what it is for sure and the back order issue. Please help me.
Similar to the 2010 Fusion problem of stuck accelerator, I have had this same problem with the 2007 Ford mustang gt. This problem has occurred ever since I received the mats in June of 2007 and has occurred numerous times! the all-weather mat is sitting on top of the standard mat and slips forward. When the accelerator is depressed fully, it does get stuck under the all-weather mat. In one incident, I was on a freeway going to pass a vehicle. When I floored the accelerator, it stuck! in a mustang, you can imagine the amount of acceleration involved and I was up over 120mph in seconds! I had to turn off the engine to begin deceleration. Frightening!.
