1 Air Brake Antilock Control Unit/module problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2022

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the abs, parking brake, and the traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact also stated the brake pedal was soft and spongy and the contact had to depress the brake pedal to the floorboard to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the abs module to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
