Odometer fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. While attempting to trade the vehicle, the contact was informed that the odometer had been rolled back, as indicated on the carfax report. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 86,785. It was discovered that the mileage was 125,121. The initial carfax report had no indication of odometer fraud. The north carolina department of transportation was contacted, and a complaint was filed.
