The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, she noticed smoke coming from the front passenger’s side tire. The contact stated that the abs warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road for an hour before restarting and continuing driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the brake hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact’s husband replaced the front passenger’s side brake hose himself. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
This is a 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid sedan. This happened to me on 2 separate occasions several months apart. Was driving at a moderate speed about 20 mph and applied the brakes to slow down but upon depressing the brake pedal the dashboard suddenly lit up with service lights and the brake pedal sank to the floor with no power assist at all. It was difficult to bring the vehicle to a full stop. Put vehicle in park, turned the ignition off and back on again , and it seems to operate normally again as if nothing went wrong.
The car was shaking at a low speed. When taken to the shop it was determined that the rotor was damaging the break lines which caused a need for a rotor, break pad , & break fluid lines. Once that work was done the brake pedal was soft & would not depress correctly. It is looking like a defective abs module, which is what was recalled on the 2010 & below. His is a problem with the 2011 too. It needs to be rectified! Ford, do the right thing.
Advance trac light abs traction control light came on next thing I know car goes out of control and now my car is totaled total loss smashed right into side of the road brakes failed steering failed and all this popped up moments before and then q truck ran into me my mom went to hospital but is ok I'm fine.
Advancetrac light started turning on, then about the 3rd time the light flashed electric brakes went away and was left with extremely hard to press hydraulic brakes. Just to scan the car Ford wants $200 because they have a proprietary system. . .
My 2011 Ford Fusion se is experiencing a brake system failure similar to the one noted in NHTSA recall 19v-904. The recall pursuant to NHTSA recall 19v-904 only applies to model years up to 2010. I contend the brake system failure continues to be prevalent but Ford is refusing to acknowledge the failure as applicable to the recall simply due to the model year. No warning indicator appeared.
Brake peddle goes to the floor without any warning near accident. Replaced master cylinder and fluid. Continues still.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph on a bumpy road, the brake pedal was depressed while making a turn however, the brake pedal traveled to the floor. The contact stated that the vehicle stop time was increased and the failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was not able to diagnose a failure cause but flushed the brake lines. The vehicle was able to operate for several months without a failure until the contact was driving over a speed bump. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who stated that he received a failure code for the abs system. The mechanic stated that the hydraulic control unit pump or abs module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that she researched the online and found NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, neither the year, make, nor model was included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 169,000.
I have owned car for almost 4 + years I was roughly at 128,000 when I purchase I gave 159,xxx miles on now. In the past 4 years tires replaced 2 times. I keep having issues with tires needing plugged in front. My brakes have been replaced 3 times rotors 2 times plus struts ball joints tie rod u name it repaired suspension system sucks. I’m sick of having same issues repair. I have thousands of dollars front suspension then always have to fix tires stop for air replace. Ridiculous. Everything has gone wrong with the suspension system. Shocks bad ball bearings. The premium aluminum rims eroding away. I think that is what cause tire issues non stop I’m sick of getting air!!! I can’t afford to keep repairing the steering has became awful pulls yes I’ve had alignments it’s all over the place feels loose makes all kinds of banging clunking noises the wheel locked up had smoke rolling out from front driver side. Smelled terrible car shaking all over around 45 mph . I have more in the front than car is worth transmission jumps all over or jerks hard into drive or reverse I had look at and repaired once all ready door handles in side don’t work!! check engine light always on the cap less fuel area is junk the ring came off. When pumping gas it doesn’t stop it now. So gas is usually on ground running down car side headlight are always getting loose knocking out my headlights. For only have 30,000 from buying it I have spent as much buying the car the equals the cars repairs almost. Chunks of paint in front falls off below grille brakes/steering have defaulted and I have slid across intersection in winter I could have been seriously injuried and of course anothe tire issue today I want my money back and the repair money!!! paid 7,000 put $ into all the time invested roughly 12,000 all together for same damn issues. Car value 3,000 wtf. Make it right Ford!!!! yr cars are junk on certain models recalls never knew they better be getting fix for free.
Braking on icy roads engaged the anti-lock braking. Immediately afterwards normal braking was affected with an increased travel in the brake pedal, down to the floor. This is the same behavior resulting in the recall of 2006-2010 Ford Fusions. My Ford Fusion is 2011 and not covered. I believe my abs unit has the same sticking valve issue. I resolved the immediate problem by forcing the anti-lock brakes to engage 4-5 times on an icy road. The brakes are now currently back to normal operation. This is the exact same issue reported in the recall but excluded by Ford based on the model year of my 2011 Ford Fusion.
It started in January 2022 riding down the road, and the front left tire blew out. While replacing the tire is when the first, of more than a dozen lug nuts / studs/bolts broke off. This would make the car make a weird noise causing the tires to make a weird noise and it be the wheel wobbling. When you’d get up to 45mph or so it would cause the whole to shake and make a noise as well. I went to b&b tire to have front pads, all rotors and a master cylinder replaced. They said 40% was left on pads and rotors. Also that the used master cylinder wasn’t any good? so, none of the maintenance seemed to resolve the brakes. They were kinda of stumped ?the lug nuts/ studs/ bolts all the way around have either had to be replaced, or sporadicly came loose, broke off on there own. It as if the wheels/ lug nuts/ studs/ bolts and brakes are a combination of issues working against each other. We are riding with every tire missing at least one of the three. Some tires are missing more. No, we realized something wasn’t right with the wheels/ lug nuts/ studs/ bolts/ brakes with the first front left tire blew out. Now the back right wheel is giving us trouble. The front left only has 3 lug nuts/ studs/ bolts holding it on. I have photos of the ones that had to be replaced, and what’s on the wheels at this point. The tire pressure light stays on. Whether you just put right amount of air in each on or not. The front left tire was the beginning of everything. I’ve found a tire weight that fell off in my driveway. I called in and filed a complaint via telephone. The photos in this complaint all apply to the odi# below. VIN #:3fahp0ha4br303447 odi #: 11460546 ( 506503) I found a recall for 2011 Ford Fusion NHTSA: campaign #:11v574000 (NHTSA recall 11v-574 ) & Ford recall#: 11s23 campaign recall #: 11s23 I have more photos I have to email you at vsh@dot. During winter driving conditions, the antilock brake system engaged. Following the engagement of the antilock brake system, the brake pedal would press all the way to the floor and very little braking was available from the brake system. Distances to stop the car were extremely long and the car was inherently unsafe to drive on the road. There were no warning indications on the car. It was determined by a Ford dealer that the hydraulic control unit failed and needed to be replaced. Upon repair, the braking system returned to normal function. I have the failed hcu in my possession.
Started the car and went to back out of the drive way and all these lights came on the dashboard and started to beep. It stated to "check brake system" and "service advancetrac". Also had to press down on the break pedal super hard to make sure the car stopped. Took the car to the Ford dealership and they stated that the abs module needed to be replaced. There was no prior warning there was a issue. Glad this didn't happen while in traffic or on the highway. I see there have been similar issues with the 2011 Ford Fusion and not sure why there has not been a recall on this yet. Car has 103k miles.
Brakes intermitent and low pedal with loss of power brake. Master cylinder and brake booster already reolaced by technical shop. Brakes continue to non efficient . Abs control module not closing fully their valves, afecting brake functionality. Even on fresh start on parking brake pedal goes way down.
Brakes serviced within last 3 years. They should not have failed. A few months ago noticed that the brakes after initial tap will go to floor. Then they completely failed with no warning when my teen driver was on a highway. Per mechanic there is a problem with the abs module. Mechanic states we have the same abs module as the 2010 Fusion that was recalled. However, per local Ford dealer as our VIN # is 2011 it doesn't matter that part has proven to be faulty.
Excessive brake pedal travel has almost lead to an accident twice. Brakes slightly engages at the top and then will have to press further to stop vehicle. This has almost caused an accident twice.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the brake pedal would depress to the floorboard without warning while coming to a stop. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be serviced or diagnosed. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 128,500.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact to call the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
Brake system failed, brake is hard to push and has to go to the floor to stop. Brake light, emergency brake, abs and traction light stays on. Car is not drivable.
This problem has occurred more than once in the past month, the last time being July 3, 2021. I have not driven it since then. The previous times it happened, I turned the car off, and restarted it. That does not correct the problem now. I only have 72446 miles on this car. Brake went all the way to the floor and I could not stop. Displayed on my dash: service advance trac -brake check brake system -brake - abs. I was extremely lucky when this happened, but it could have resulted in a serious accident. It seemed to correct itself, but has happened again. The dash displays appear each time I start the car, so I an not able to drive it now. I will have to get it somewhere to be repaired.
One more than 10 occasions my vehicle has failed to properly stop. For now apparent reason my brakes will go all the way to the floor. I've had the vehicle inspected and taken to multiple repair shops, however the issue is never resolved. I've almost been involved in two serious accidents. There are recalls on this issue from 2006-2010 and I've seen many, many complaints with the same year (2011) and same vehicle. Please help.
My brake pedal stays down and I have very little brakes. I took it to my mechanic and he has been waiting for the part for over 6 months. I recently called him and he informed me that Ford was no longer manufacturing that brake part. What do I do now? my mom has a 2009 and she had the same issue and it was recalled. Will my car also be recalled or am I stuck with a car with bad brakes?.
While I'm driving my brake pad goes all the way to the floor, it's scary because you have break fluid so why the issue, and then they work normal. This needs to be recalled soon, can't afford to buy another car. I see lot's of issues with this so whay isn't this already up for recall, maddenining. If Ford works so hard to sell you a vehicle they should work harder to protect the owner's of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her son was driving the vehicle and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The contact stated that a warning message had appeared on the instrument panel that stated to see a mechanic about the brakes. Her son was able to steer the vehicle down a hill and into a curb until he was able to stop the vehicle. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle and the brakes resumed normal operation. Her son had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who could not find any failure with the vehicle. Recently, the contact stated that her son had experienced the same failure. The dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while attempting the stop the vehicle, the brake pedal would extend to the floor and the braking distance was extended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The brake pads were replaced, however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 160,000.
The brake pedal went down to the floor board when trying to stop at a traffic light and 2 weeks later at a stop sign. The pedal since the 1st time is a bit soft.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while stopping the vehicle, the brake pedal traveled to the floor. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither a dealer nor the manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.
While driving on a city street, I was coming to a stop sign. There was snow on the road and the abs kicked in, and the pedal went to the floor. Since then the pedal goes to the floor every time I use the brakes.
Following an abs brake event, my brake pedal was noted to sink slowly to the floor when braking. No fluid was lost. I read the recall notice details for the hcu on an 2010 Fusion (19s54). From this, I was able to determine that if I braked on gravel, I could cause the abs to activate and correct the issue. That worked great for several weeks, but while my daughter was driving the car, the sinking pedal issue resumed. She is not an experienced driver. I'd like to take it to the Ford dealer for diagnosis and repair. I see the investigation 19s54 included 2006 to 2012 models; however, the recall for some reason only covers to 2010. What's up? can I go get my car fixed? or do I need to wait until my daughter has an accident?.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the abs, emergency automatic braking, traction control, and service warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel while depressing the brake pedal. The contact also stated that excessive force was needed to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to lucas Ford (900 us-130, burlington, NJ 08016) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 128,262.
I was driving my 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid at around thirty mph on a city street and my brake system warning light popped up on the dashboard. As soon as that happen I had no brakes, and there was no resistance in the brakes. They went straight to the floor, luckily I was able to stop the car with my emergency brake. I restarted the car and the brakes worked fine after that.
Activation of the anti-lock braking system causes a loss of braking - pedal goes nearly to the floor. The condition can sometimes be reversed by rapid pumping of the brakes. Suspect faulty hydraulic control unit (hcu) - sticking valves. The 2011 models should absolutely have been covered in the recall for 2008-2010 models. Please ad this model year to nhsta 19v904000. This is a known danger and Ford must be held responsible for the defect/resolution. Thanks!.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal would depress to the floorboard without warning. The contact stated that extra brake travel time was needed for the vehicle to come to a complete stop. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and the contact had her brake lining and rotor assembly were replaced. The mechanic also informed her that the brake master cylinder and hydraulic control assembly might also need replacement. The parts were not replaced. Despite the repair, the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to check the repairs that were performed on the vehicle. The mechanic informed her that the work was repaired; the mechanic referred her to the NHTSA to file a complaint. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 44,924.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his nephew was driving at an undisclosed speed, the brakes malfunctioned causing the brake pedal to extended to the floor. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to immediately stop. After restarting the vehicle, the brakes operated as designed however, the failure recurred. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.
While driving in traffic on a city street at about 45 mph, the brakes stopped working so that we were unable to fully stop safely. There was smoke coming out of a tire and burning inside of the wheel. The abs system suddenly stopped working and we were lucky that we didn't hit anyone.
