The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the power steering assist fault message was displayed. The power steering function was inoperable. The check engine warning light was illuminated due to a possible canister purge valve failure. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 15v340000 (steering). The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 165,461.
2012 Ford Fusion is having issues similar to the Ford focus recall, 18s32, that pertains to the canister purge valve and powertrain issue. Current Fusion has a 2. 5l motor in it. Have replaced the canister purge valve 3 times in a 2-year span and is currenting giving codes (as well as engine light being on) of another failure. Do believe it is affecting the powertrain as well, as it is jerks under workload.
Vehicle loses power while driving, with no response when accelerator is depressed further. The engine continues to run but no throttle response. No engine warning light came on. No codes stored. Must stop, turn off engine and perform an engine restart to continue driving again.
My steering assist system goes of at odd times, and the acceleration it does tiny tugs, and my suspension it rattles, over street bumps,, can it be fixed by a dealership, cause it’s my only vehicle ?? I have and plus I’m on ssdi income and I can’t afford major repairs, like these, and if so have the car fully inspected just in case I’m missing something, OH and also there’s a popping noise coming from the front of the car. .
Pulled out of a side street taylor onto a main highway 39 beach blvd and car jolted and didn’t have much go. Seemed sluggish. Transmission mount bolt had snapped off and I could have been in a major accident because I had oncoming traffic coming at me when I merged into the street and lost power because of the incident.
Their is a recall for Ford abs module yet their needs to be one for 2012 Ford Fusions se as well I have paid over 3200 dollars for my brakes alone . I have had 2 near misses and was in an unreported incident today from power loss on my breaks . Very unsafe for me and those around.
The power steering assist randomly went out and caused me to almost crash into a wall when I was on the freeway taking the car home. The previous owner had gotten into an accident with the vehicle which had also resulted from the power steering randomly going out, and the power steering is now out completely on the vehicle and yet seems to come on randomly while having to manually steer the vehicle. I just got the vehicle and am the most recent owner, but since the vehicle has over 150,000 miles on it and it has been over 10 years, Ford and its dealerships are saying there’s nothing they can do to fix it. However, I know that these issues going on with the car (power steering assist and electronic throttle body issues) are related to the recall on the vehicle. There are apparently no active recalls on the vehicle, but I know that the previous owners may have taken the car in for problems related to the recall. However, I also know that the company is required to fix problems related to the recall no matter how many years the warranty is or how many miles the vehicle has on it, so I’m unsure why both Ford and its dealerships are saying there’s nothing they can do and that I’ll have to pay for a diagnostic fee and then the repair fees associated with the problem, and I just got the vehicle. I don’t feel that it’s fair that I pay for repair costs associated with a recall on several other Ford Fusion vehicles as well (2011-2012) when those recall related problems almost killed me, and upon researching it no other cars have power steering assist, electronic throttle body and airbag problems like the Ford Fusion.
My car has a very hard time shifting when I go to take off, I have not been in a wreck because of it yet but when it does shift it shifts very hard I’m afraid to even pull onto a busy road I’m worried one day it will just not shift and I’ll cause a crash.
Transmission issues. Jerks and shudders and loss of power, broken motor mounts, pcm issues, misfire issues and etc. Car threw codes, many expensive trips to Ford dealerships, excessive undriveable down time, unsafe to be on a highway or go up a hill when it shifts (automatic), 6f35 transmission in my 2012 Ford Fusion.
My car just dies while I'm driving. Are there recalls I haven't been notified about that could be causing this? if so, how do I get it repaired in the most expeditious manner. I only have the one car and it is pretty unsafe at this point.
The wrench light comes on and the vehicle cuts off it will start back up but it's random and cuts off anytime it wants. It's done this while parked and moving. Throttle body extended warranty. My car is under the 150,000 miles and met the requirements for this to be replaced and I took it to ravenel Ford ravenel SC and was told that because they didn't get that code that they we're allowed to fix it.
I was getting gas and I cut my car off when I got back into my car it did not start. I continued to start it. Car would not start. I popped the hood and touched the battery some and tried starting the car the car started then about 5 minutes after driving it suddenly cuts off. This is a ongoing issue. Car suddenly stops in the middle of street almost causing accidents that can nearly kill someone!!! very unsafe and extremely dangerous. This happened on highway and street. And its so random no signs just cuts off at any speed.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal. Both the power train and check engine warning lights would appear on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to both an independent mechanic and a dealer but neither could diagnose to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I was driving my 2012 Ford Fusion to work one day when suddenly I got an alert reading "service power steering now" and was no longer able to use my power steering which made turning extremely difficult. I was on a highway and had to pull over and park in the closest fuel station.
I was going 55 miles an hour on busy street in florida, all of sudden car was getting no gas, had to pull over, shut off car and restart, this has happened twice, very spuratic, very dangerous, had it towed to executive auto, they could not find anything, and could not get it to fail again. Do not trust it.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving, at high speeds the vehicle shut down, restarted, and shut down again. The contact was able to drive, but it shut down. The power steering assist fault warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who informed him there was no warranty coverage and referred him to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. While driving, the check engine indicator illuminated and the power steering ability was reduced. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rack and pinion was sensing over effort and shutting down the power steering. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (al packer's white marsh Ford, 9801 pulaski hwy, middle river, MD 21220, (443) 777-5000) and they reprogrammed the power steering module, although they recommended it be replaced. The failure mileage was 94,983.
Electronic throttle body error codes lead to loss of engine power and engine being throttled back to approx. 10 mph in "limp home mode". Issue is intermittent, and NHTSA has studied the problem previously. Ford says my etb is not included in the recalls, and that I need to pay for the repairs. It is a known problem with this year Ford Fusion, and Ford supposedly made a 10yr 150,000 mile warranty on the part. . . . Just not my etb.
I was on the road pack saddle in jonestown TX 78645, when I pulled on to road 1431. A large truck with a crash guard hit me on the driver's side @ 60mph. The accident turned my car into a horse shoe, and senjt me into on coming trafic. All of the air bags were activated and saved both me and my wife but, the residue that came with the activation pepperd me in the face and ruined my glasses. If I had not had my glasses on,I would have lost my vision due to such. We were on a county road. Turning left and my vehicle was in motion.
City traffic, 30mph. Only had traveled a few miles. Temperature was in the low 90's and dewpoint in the low to mid 60's. Wrench tool icon illuminated and the vehicle shook and total loss of power. Could only go 3-5 mph. Pulled off the road. Turned off car and restarted. Icon was off and car ran fine. Service scan tool did not find any faults. After the scan, the dash message center displayed the message: "service advancetrac". Intermittent problem with no other error messages and appears to be a common on Ford vehicles. Simply restarting the vehicle should not erase the source of the problem. This is a very dangerous situation if this occurs at highway speeds because of the total loss of power.
The electronic throttle body has failed twice within 500 miles. (the vehicle has 71500 as of this writing) both times this has occurred at approximately 35 mph while driving on a flat stretch of road at a steady speed with little input from the accelerator. In both circumstances the car has thudded into "limp mode" where the car can only coast of the road. A restart seems to clear the problem.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 30 mph, the bolt from the engine fractured and hit the cv joint. Grease flooded the cv joint, which made it difficult to drive the vehicle. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The contact was not sure if the manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 83,894.
For a while know my car would randomly stop. All of a sudden it would decrease in speed and then shake at which time I would pull over and shut the car down after some time I am able to start the car up again and get back on the road. No mechanic can actually find anything wrong with my car so they just keep telling me to come back if it does it again. At first I thought it was the fuel filter so I was told by the mechanic to use fuel injection cleaner in my car. I have done that and it appeared to work however it started up again. I have been having this issue off and on for a while but can never find the issue. I am wondering why hasn't there been a recall on this. I noticed that with this model year everyone is having the same issue. I live in houston and our freeways are not the best places to break down.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that there was a sudden loss of power. The vehicle failed to accelerate, lunged forward, and jerked while in motion or making a turn. In addition, the power train warning indicator flashed several times. Two dealers were notified of the failure, but the dtc was not present; therefore, the failure was unable to be replicated and diagnosed. The manufacturer had a service campaign, but refused to provide a solution. The dealer would not replace the part unless they could determine the failure. The contact was able to order the part from the manufacturer and replaced the electronic throttle body. The manufacturer had not issued a recall. The VIN was not included in NHTSA action number: pe13003 (engine). The failure mileage was not available.
Takata inflator: on September 23rd I was driving to work using local stet and all of a sudden my car lost all power, it would not accelerate when I hit the gas. Several warning lights came on inside the car including the engine light. It happen once again on oct 5, 2016 while driving on 408. Thank god that the traffic was heavy and I was able to place the car into park, turn the engine off and then on again. I the traffic was not heavy I could have been badly injured. I did not notice any recalls for this issue. Please don't let someone loose they life before the issue is fixed.
Driving on the 605 fwy with my 5 year old going about 65mph when my car suddenly lost power and a orange wrench light appeared, I was able to pull off to the shoulder when my car jerked and completely shut down. It took me 3 times to get it started only to have this happen again about 2 miles up the road. I was able to safely get home but my mechanic has advised that I have an error code p2111 and my throttle body will need to be replaced. This is extremely dangerous and I am not a happy Ford customer. I will be taking in my car to the dealer tomorrow in hopes that they will stand behind thier product and replace this part.
Over the past week my 2012 Ford Fusion decelerated, idled roughly, lost power steering and power breaking and the wrench dummy light came on. All 4 times it occurred below 30 mph in clear conditions. The car is extremely hard to handle and luckily I was in areas where I could pull over safely. Once pulled over I was able to restart the car and resume driving. I have brought in my car twice to a local mechanic who could not find any error messages on the computer. I have an appointment at the local Ford dealership to do more diagnostics. I am very concerned about the safety of this vehicle and its reliability.
2015 had throttle body replaced by Ford for nothing . . 8 months later it happened again 6/3/16. . Ford paid for the first wont do the second without me paying for it. . This can be dangerous as it just stops , you have no power to move, then it shakes and dies. I did start it right after and got home both times. Just saying if this is a faulty part. . Why arent they fixing it, not us. I f your going fasdt I would hate to think what would happen on a big highway.

I was driving down the highway at 65 mph. I had been driving for about 30 minutes. The car suddenly lurched. The "wrench" light illuminated and I had no power from the engine. I coasted to the emergency lane. The idle was very rough and sputtering. I restarted the car and it operated normally for the next 15 miles when I reached my destination.
I was traveling down a surface street when the car suddenly lurched forward and then lost all engine power. I was able to coast to a turn lane and shut the car off safely. The engine idle was extremely rough and sputtering. After restarting the car it operated normally until I reached my destination. This was the 2nd time today that the car malfunctioned in the same manner.
Small evaporative leak attributed to the fuel filler neck as part of the capless gas system. This year, make, model presents consistent issues in this area. Previous model years had recalls associated with this issue, but not the 2012 for some reason.
The contact owned a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the engine caught fire. The fire department extinguished the fire. A police and a fire report were not filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 80,000.
First incident was in 2013, driving down freeway and advance trac light came on then the power steering went out on car. Took in for repairs and cost me 2054. 00 for repairs, was told not under warranty. Paid for repair and here it is less than on year later and I have same failures on my vehicle as my husband, son and grandson were coming back from a trip. Thank god no one was hurt. First advance trac light came on followed by power steering fault light came on and they lost the power steering to the car. Tried to turn car off and restart car again and still no power steering available. This is becoming quite common for this model car because my daughter has the same car and had the exact same issue. Something has to be done, before someone gets killed. Always after the issue happens when driving car the engine shifts really hard, rpm's go up and then slams into gear!!!!.
