After this happened I had it towed to a independent car service shop who was honest enough to call a Ford dealership whose representative eluded the Ford may take the corrective actions on this, after a $150 tow to this dealer shop the Ford dealer department denied ever having claimed they would help and refused to help in any way. The Ford dealers rational: 1) the car was purchased from an independent dealer 2) warranty was expired 3) they required a $120 examination fee, even though the independent dealer had already done this. When all was said an done the electronic power steering rack and pinion assembly had to be completely replaced totaling $2106. 69. While driving the car in a commercial are the wheel stopped steering. I could not move the wheel left or right and got stuck in an intersection. A police officer came and sat with me while we waited for a tow truck. The car was towed to the Ford dealership and was looked at when they opened after the weekend.
