Body problems of the 2014 Ford Fusion - part 2

Was driving and made a turn and my driver door flew open.

My passenger door will not latch or stay shut. My VIN didn't recognize the recall. After further research my situation seems identical to Fords recall 15s16 or ( 17v-210) Ford recalled 390k vehicles spanning the year my vehicle was produced. I believe my vehicle is affected by a faulty door latch that Ford has failed to recall. The vehicle was stationary when this occurred however the door will not latch under any condition now. I have to use a ratchet strap to keep the door shut.

On 6/29/17 I had a recall for the door latches they were all replaced, I had 42,984 miles, in 2019 until now 2020 I have complained about my driver door not latching and the " driver door ajar" message appears on the dash I have had a couple of times where I was driving and had to pull off to close the door I took it a month ago with this complaint , but of course they couldn't duplicate the issue, so I called a Ford rep customer service, she said you have to take it to the dealership I said I did several times but it doesn't do it for them, well now I see 2014 Ford Fusion is having another recall for the door latches but mine isn't one of them for the recall, it should be because I and whoever drives my car are in danger of the door flying open and someone falling out , so I feel my car should be recalled again for faulty latches.

Door latches become unlatched while vehicle is in motion, causing the door to swing open and refuse to close entirely. Two separate instances of this occurring on different doors within months of each other.

I was driving going 25 miles a hour on 9/28/2018 and the front door just open up by its self witch a is know issue with Ford and door latches and they keep saying my VIN# is not part of this witch the dealership acknowledges and said it should be this is the second door in the last 3months to do this in chandler az witch is unsafe to me and the people who could be around me.

The rear passenger door lock does not hold. You can close the door but the latch does not hold the door closed. The car was parked and when we opened and tried to shut the door, it would not stay closed.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the remedy and part was not available within a reasonable time frame to receive the part for NHTSA campaign number: 18v471000 (power train). A loaner vehicle was provided and tom holzer Ford, 39300 w 10 mile rd, farmington hills, mi 48335, indicated that they were subject to having to wait to determine the manufacturer interim fix until the remedy and part may become available which was unacceptable to the contact. The dealer stated that they would service NHTSA campaign numbers: 18v167000 (steering), 16v875000 (seat belts) and 15v246000 (latches/locks/linkages) with the remedies and parts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was waiting on a response to determine when the vehicle may be repaired for all 4 recalls. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Dyd.

First the driver side passenger door open up in the middle of driving in June of 2018 and now September of 2018 the driver side door fly open in the middle of driving door not latch major issue and Ford fuses to take responseaity for the bad product when this is major issue and know the issue the dealership has acknowledge this and this should be a recall.

Passanger rear door won't stay closed.

My driver rear door latch is broke witch is known issue on 2014 Ford Fusion and there have been two different recall and they are trying to say my VIN is not part of the recall and want me to pay it broke on it's own and in safe and something should be done when contact Ford they refuse to help.

2014 Ford Fusion my car has had many recalls all of them fixed promptly my passanger side door wont close there is a recall for this problem but not for my car it is a 2014 Fusion sitting and a stop sign in this little town my son opens the door to spit when he shuts it wont close.

1. When pumping gasoline, the lever clicks off every 1-2 seconds, taking long time to fill gas tank, and never knowing if over-filling. I must repeatedly turn the ignition on/off/on in order to see the gas gauge. 2. The body dents easily.

Vehicle door spring. Door may come open at any given time while driving or not driving. There's a recall on this car.

The drivers side front door latch failed, and so the driver's door will not latch closed. When driving, the door must be held closed by the driver (I resorted to tying a rope from the driver's side door handle to the passenger side in order to get the car home). When taking right turns, if not properly secured by the driver's arm, the door will fly open which could lead to the driver being ejected from the moving vehicle. After the door initially failed, I contacted the nearest Ford dealer about getting the car repaired and was told the existing door latch recall did not apply to my vehicle and that they had no parts in stock for a repair. Ford issued a recall for faulty door latches on specific 2014 Fusion models. Mine apparently was not one of them, but still suffers from the same faulty door latch design. The existing recall needs to be expanded to properly cover all Fusions (and the other affected Ford/Lincoln models) with these inferior door latches suffering from faulty "pawl springs". Inquiries to the parts departments of two local Ford authorized dealers have not been fruitful; the part is apparently out of stock at all dealers in the state of arizona and there is no eta on a replacement. An inquiry to an online outlet called Ford parts giant shows the part number given to me by the dealer to be discontinued. That part is ae8z-5421813-e, door lock actuator. I contacted Ford motor company customer service in an attempt to locate a proper replacement part somewhere in the united states, but they were unable to provide any useful information.

The passenger side door latch failed, causing the door to open while driving on a residential street. This happened only 3 months after the driver's side door latch also failed. My 2014 Ford Fusion is not currently included in the already existing recall of the faulty door latches. Ford will not reimburse or cover the expenses to have either door latch fixed. This is a serious safety issue for me, my wife, and daughter.

Upon regular closing of rear passenger door, it will not latch, therefore can not be shut. The car cannot be driven in this condition, as the door will necessarily be open at all times.

I have called two local dealers multiple times dating back to April (when I purchased the car) to have the recall fixes performed, and continue to be told the parts are on back order from the manufacturer. I have also contacted the manufacturer (Ford) online and was told I needed to schedule the appointment with a local dealer.

I have a broken pawl spring in my back right door which stops my door from latching closed, there is an open recall on that part but Ford refuses to acknowledge my claim and hangs up on me when asked.

The latch on the driver's side front door stopped working, causing the driver's front door to not latch shut. Apparently my car is not covered in the existing recall for this issue. The car was stationary when this issue first occurred.

Car door latch unexpectedly stopped working. I parked at a convient store and closed my door. My door will not stay closed and now I can not secure my car, nor can I safely drive the vehicle.

The contact bowditch Ford at 11291 jefferson Ave, newport news, va 23601 (757) 595-2211 where it was confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. (VIN tool confirms parts not available/parts distribution disconnect). Lt.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle made a grinding noise. The vehicle was taken to the towne Ford of redwood city dealer, located 1601 el camino real, redwood city, CA 94063, where the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Also, the contact received NHTSA campaign number: 20v177000 (latches/locks/linkages) and the same dealer ordered the parts and scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced a TSB number: 17-0030. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 18,213. Fe.

Passenger front and rear door latches have failed within days of each other. Both or the doors, at different times, flew open while driving the car without notification or warning. Doors will not latch at all now. There has been a recall for this failure but it does not include my VIN. . .

The door latch suddenly stopped latching. The vehicle was parked at a shopping center. My passenger got in and tried to close the door and it would not latch. Tried cycling the lock. Tried several times to close and latch. The latch will not lock into the closed position.

Front driver side and front passenger side door stopped latching. Cannot safely secure doors during trip. Both times the car was stationary, the doors were latched, then I opened them, and they just stopped latching. Driver side door occurred on 8/04 and passenger door on 10/17.

The contact called raceway and fritz dealer, located on riverside CA, four times where it was informed the remedy part was not available for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experience a failure. Part distribution disconnect. Aw.

My 2014 Ford Fusion has electrical problems. The ac/heater just come on full blast sometimes and sometimes not at all. . It is very dangerous when I'm trying to drive in bad weather. It wont even defrost my windows correctly. . My transmission is slipping and has done so for 5 years. Ford dealers have not helped in anyway even thought I have a recall letter stating the there was a recall on the shifter cable. It said that my car isnt going all the way into gear/park and it could cause problems for transmission in the furture and it has. I need help, please! tge shifter cable broke completely off and fidd had it towed to fix it. They fixed it in less then 30mins but did not even look at my transmission after I told them that my car is driving horrible. It has no power hardly when I press the gas. I have almost been in several bad wrecks because of it. I can't drive over 70 miles an hour so my car knocking really hard. Also my headliner on the inside of my car is falling down. Ford said they were measured wrong when they built these Ford Fusions but have yet to do a recall on them. It has fallen down on my little girls head and my own head while driving at a dangerous speed.
