Two piece lug nuts. Dealer will not rotate tires because they say the lug nuts are swelled and are afraid that they will damage the lugs nuts and I would not be able to change the tire if I had a flat since my lug wrench would not fit. I should not have to buy replacement nuts at $100. 00+. Ford should have to replace these at no cost to me or anyone else.
We having a problem with transmission failed. I noticed a recall for 2015 Ford Fusion. The car is running but stayed in limp mode and will not go over 40 mph.
Code p2112, throttle body stuck closed. Lost power, no acceleration, no power steering. Has happened 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Check engine light comes on, no air bags, traction control or hill assist, messages pop up on dash. Too expensive too have Ford "diagnose" issue. No warning before this happens. There was no accident (yet) but it is my only vehicle so I have no choice about driving it.
The side mirrors adjust to a position on their own. They also become fixed in this position and are unable to move. Not sure why this happens. I saw some complaints of water exposure being the issue but I have not been able to test this theory. This issue becomes very dangerous when on any road but especially the highway.
Automotive warning lights: multiple light syndrome (dash indicator lights) - at times while my vehicle is running all the warning lights start coming on and my steering wheel starts to get tough to turn (almost like it doesn't have power steering at all). The only thing that takes it off is if I shut off my car and restart it. This happens almost 5 times a week. It will show abs, power steering, check engine and a bunch of other things. Just had the bolts that were recalled on the steering wheel fixed but this is still an ongoing issue. The vehicle only has 58000 miles.
I am not sure what part or components, but I am experiencing a smell of some kind that is making me sick. As in, nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, headaches and migraines. This only happens when I am in the vehicle and only at certain times throughout the day. I've been vacationing for several months now and this is a reoccurring problem. When I am driving the smell is trying to put me to sleep and I have to pullover on the interstate to sleep and I have been putting the windows down to try to stop the reactions I am having. But, the smell continues even when the engine is not running. That is the best way I can explain the experience that I am having. Thank you so much and have an absolutely amazing day.
My 2015 Fusion backup camera has been intermittent or non-working for several years. I took it to the dealer who said it would cost $600 to repair, so I have not repaired it. Now I see that they have recalled 2015-2017 mustangs for the same reason and wonder if my Fusion has the same defect that the mustangs do.
Ford recall from 2019, #19s16 failed . . The bushing they replaced as part of this recall has failed, causing the same safety issue the original recall was supposed to fix. The car shifter is in park but the car remains in neutral. Serious safety issue. Brought car back to the dealer that originally did the recall repair, but they refuse to fix this issue as part of the recall and the manufacturer says the recall only covers this issue one time. The car has less than 55k miles on it, and it has only been 2 years since this recall repair was done (also, last year the car was hardly driven due to covid). The original recall covered several types of Fords - so many car owners are unaware that this bushing will fail again. What recourse do consumers have when the recall repair does not fix this issue????.
The display for sync / phone / radio / backup camera went black & now no display of backup camera etc. Reset does not correct problem. Fuse good. Disconnecting battery / reconnect does not correct. Known problem with other Fords accessory display module & screen. Very expensive failure.
The engine leaks coolant into the cylinder, which causes repeated overheat warnings which completely disengage the throttle.
My name is [xxx], my daughter stated that she was driving her 2015 Ford Fusion down the highway, and panicked when the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. She was pushing down on the brakes as hard as she could, and the vehicle would not slow down. Thankfully, by the grace of god, the vehicle eventually started slowing. She crept home afterwards. The vehicle is now at mullinax Ford in mobile alabama. The address is 7311 airport blvd. Mobile alabama, 36608. The phone number is 251-261-0238. The vehicle has 80 thousand miles on it. I have kept it in excellent condition due to the fact that I do not want her to breakdown in the middle of the road. However, I never expected that the vehicle would autonomously accelerate and potentially kill her due to a wreck. I am concerned that the vehicle can no longer be trusted. What can be done to resolve the issue? will the manufacturer pay for the fix? will the fix be professional, and actually remedy the malfunction? do I have a legal avenue of approach? will you please have someone investigate, and rectify. Can my daughter please have a temporary, or permanent replacement? this has been a burden due to the fact that she needs that vehicle to go back and forth to college. She will probably have anxiety driving the Fusion if, or when the Fusion is returned. I am asking for help. I do not know the system or component that malfunctioned. I do not know if the system has been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. My daughter noticed a hill start assist message on her instrument cluster at the time of malfunction. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
A few weeks ago, the passenger sun vizor in my 2015 Fusion suddenly came part. I have attached photos of the current condition. There is no change in handling as I have just used this as a support for the dashboard sunshade as a protection from the hot arizona sun. Currently the vizor is hanging by its wire (please see photos) and presents a big safety risk from a visibility and handling standpoint (since its just suspending by itself). When I contacted Ford (via twitter), they asked me to take it to a dealer to have it checked. Dealer is asking for $159 inspection fee which is absolutely ridiculous since a problem like this should be inspected and fixed for me (being a safety issue). I request NHTSA to take action by bringing this to Ford and getting them to review this issue for a possible recall. I would also like my vizor to be inspected and repaired as soon as possible.
Rear view camera intermittently stops working entirely or shows a mirrored image (view is reversed).
This is a complaint on the ability to get repair made under nhsta 20v-177, Ford recall notice 20s15. Under the process set up by Ford motor company I am being told by 2 dealers the repair can take up 2 to 5 days with the vehicle at the shop. The labor time allotted by Ford for my vehicle is 1. 8 hrs to make the repair. Ford is not authorizing a rental car. It is my understanding that recall notices issued by nhsta should not be any expense to the consumer and completed in a timely manner. How are consumers like myself, who is a senior citizen with only one vehicle suppose to get around? or a working person to get to work. Why is the nhsta letting Ford get away with this? is this not a serious safety issue? your response is appreciated.
Had dealer work on recall 18s20. Transmission linkage. After 9 days got the car back and the recall work failed with less than 60 miles traveled. Creating a very dangerous roll away event. Basically the car was placed in park. The car rolled away.
While driving, my vehicle stalled with no obvious warning. There were no lights displayed or other issues with the vehicle prior to this. I was able to press the gas pedal; however, it did not function. The car immediately slowed to a "coasting" speed while in traffic. This has occurred without warning on at least 3 occasions, all while in traffic. I have also noticed that this happens after having turned and after accelerating. This could have easily caused injury to myself and other drivers.
I was driving in hot 95 degree weather on on freeway with my a/c on going 65 mph when my car beeped and a message popped up saying my engine coolant was too hot. My temp guage was at the highest temperature at hot in the recline. I quickly turned off my a/c and slowed down and got into the farthest right lane. I was about to pull over when the temp guage dropped back to normal operating level which is about the middle. I drove slowly and exited and the car was not steaming or smoking. I left it running and checked underneath and no leaks or drips of any kind. I drove off and upon accelerating the temp rose up not quite to the top of guage but close and then back to normal again. I got to my destination and left 5 hours later and it seemed fine. I checked under hood that night and coolant was below min line. I checked again the next morning and it was still at the same level. I have a 1. 5 ecoboost engine and notice some white smoke coming out tail pipe some mornings when reversing out of driveway on rear camera. I had to order coolant and meanwhile took it straight to my mechanic who can't find a problem. Where did the coolant go? there are no codes popping up. I get regular oil changes and maintenance. I thought my engine was going to blow up. I've never drove a car and saw the temp guage at the top without some sort of steam or loss of power. My mechanic says he did the pressure test overnight and all seems fine. I safely changed lanes but it was very nerve-racking. My mechanic drove it onto freeway and says guage goes up and down but doesn't know why. I hear a watery sound by my feet sometimes when accelerating from a stop. I thought it might be the turbo engine? it runs a bit rough sometimes too. Uncertain but I dont want to get stuck on the road later or pay for costly repairs when issue could been avoided. Already having to pay 200. 00 to diagnose and potentially another 200. 00 for further testing. I'm at 71,000 miles now and out of warranty.
The car is burping in the gas cap. It is very difficult to start after fueling. And will randomly shut off. Check engine light is on. Code p1450 $07e8pd & p1450 $07e8. I clear the code and in a day. Or so it comes back on. This started around 78k miles. I have 79201. On my car. Plasting a tight plastic wrap over the tank reduces burping and random shut off. . This IA a major repair for a car with this mileage local non interstate miles. That has been well cared for. This seems to beca common problem for the Fusion based on internet search.
When getting ready to park the car the car says it's it nuetral but it's actually I believe in park. I took my foot off the break and it was moving backwards. I put the parking break on the car so it is stationary.
Na.
Driving on highway and car overheats and have to pull over. The car shutdown. A coolant problem not a big deal. Take it in and have a code saying it is misfire #2 #3. Replace plugs do a tune up and ask about the over heating problem. Said we were low on antifreeze. Strange cause we had just topped all fluids when we changed oil. Okay pick it up runs great for one day, engine light comes on again. Take it back and get it checked misfire again. Leave car with mechanic and he goes thru it. Test driving and engine light comes back on. Gets it back to the shop, starts looking around and notices the coolant which he just filled is dry. After further review the coolant is leaking into the engine. The diagnose is the engine needs to be replaced. The vehicle has 80000 miles on it and should not have a problem of this sort going on at all. We took it in to Ford and was told they can help us . This is there product correct?.
Sometimes halfway or completely my back up camera will go black and leave and error message. This is everytime I back up, has been happening since August 2020.
8/15/2019 my son took my car to auto clinic of boca raton inc. =computer diagnostic scan, no charge=replaced cylinder to ignition coil-total was $90. 95(12month or 12,000miles lim. Warty. ). On 10/24/2019 my son took my car to the grayco Ford of delray beach for recalls. Engine light was back on,they wanted $to find out y the light was on. So my son left &on his next day off he took the car back to the auto clinic again. They did a diagnostic scan=free&this time=replaced cyls. 1,3&4 ignition/coils= $272. 85 this time mileage in & out was 53,473. My son mileage in for my car at grayco Ford of delray beach was 54,824 on 10/24/19. Motor was under warranty up until 60,000 miles. So I don't understand why they wouldn't of looked at that check engine light or the motor of my car for my son who was away at college in florida for 3yrs. I bought that car in order for him to go to florida and work and go to school lynn university to get his masters degree at 23 years old. I thought I bought a safe vehicle for his travels. My son got his normal oil change of every 3 months on 4/15/20@1:03pm. Engine light on after he left so he took it to the auto clinic again @2:05 they replaced spark plugs for $58. 44 mileage in 58,325 in and out. He moved home to OH the check engine light on again! I took it to classic, mentor OH they tell me my Ford engine has a problem something warps inside a chamber and lets coolant go into the motor! they want $5200 to fix it. I called Ford&it's 2000 miles out warranty. They said cant/won't help w/ this well-known problem for 2013-2019 Fusions! I talkd to the grayco Ford of delray, very rude (david aliva) & boss very rude as well. I got a rude email, that they will not help me! even though the check engine light was on and it was under 60,000 miles! car sitting at mentor classic(since 08/20)they tell me it is a fire hazard to drive! I don't know what to do!.
The front driver side door won't latch and stay closed. I parked it in the garage and the next day the door was ajar.
Ford Fusions having a coolant leak into the engine . I've heard from multiple people having the same issue & now I'm having the same problem after only having my Fusion for two years & still making payments. Car makes a sloshing noise in dashboard when accelerating , turning or braking & car overheats due to coolant leaking into engine & having to constantly refill coolant .
Right rear door lock does not remain locked, even when car is in motion. You are able to unlock and open the door from the inside when vehicle is in motion. This happens on city streets at 30 mph or going down the highway at 55 mph. First noticed in March 2020, but ongoing. My grandson sits in the rear in his car seat and had on several occasions he can open the door, while driving down road.
I was making a right hand turn and my left back door flu open, and will not close. My friend had to sit in the back seat to hold door closed.
I was in motion driving not long after I got my car which is still pretty new. While driving I tried to accelerate and it wouldn't accelerate. After mashing the petal all the way down the car was still moving at the same speed then like 3/4 secs later it jerked and started to accelerate. I thought it may need a tune up so I went and got that done but it's still doing it. I was on a city streets going straight.
The trunk of my 2015 Ford Fusion will open without notice. It first happened while in my garage, but has also happened while driving down the road, which made it difficult to see out the back window. When back in my garage I turned the car off. Within a few minutes the trunk opened on its own. When I went to check to see if I could figure out what was going on, I could hear the trunk release 'triggering' automatically. This random trunk opening occurred both when the car was in motion and stationary in the garage.
As I was driving on highway doing 55 mph, my Ford fusin 2015 wrench light came on and seat belt light along with car loosing power. Power dropped down to under 20mph and had to place emergency blinkers on to pull over to side of highway barely made it. Taken to dealership no codes were found to indicate the problem and could not be duplicated. Battery was replaced due to next day the battery was dead. 2 weeks later , while driving on the street going 35 mph same issue occurred . The rpm reved up and dropped down along with wrench light and seat belt light coming n. Back to the dealership no codes stored to indicate the issue. This is very scary to lose power while driving and may cause an accident or even death. There are alot of complaints regarding this matter, you would think Ford would do something about it, unfortunately nothing has been done yet. Maybe someone has to be dead for them to take it into consideration. I'm going to purchase a chevy!! be safe everyone!!!.
On many occasions my cars main battery has completely drained. Something in the car keeps draining the battery for no reason all essentials are completely turned off that I am aware. In all cases the car was parked for periods of time. My wife went on a business trip came back after two weeks to find her car at lot dead. . She managed to get a jump from someone. This was during minnesota winter. Car left in garage for summer while took other car on a trip for a few weeks only to come back where car was dead again. Managed to get it recharged. Again car left in garage for longer period about 3 months as wife was on disability. Car again was found dead and was unable to recharge as my charger indicated battery was bad. Car under warranty. Towed to where purchased, said battery was bad. I informed them this has happen several times and apparently battery was not under same warranty. Battery replaced out of my pocket. Car went back into storage again. Again battery died. Took in again and I asked they conduct a through test as something keeps draining the battery. I also went out to charge the battery about every two weeks. But eventually my charger tagged the battery as bad again. They replaced again no charge. But they said were not able to find anything. After home this time I charged every week and when I do the battery shows it has drained anywhere from 30% - 40% each week. I need someone to intervene with Ford as I do not drive the car as much now and this is concerning as now is my only vehicle and warranty ends soon. Car was serviced each time at midway Ford 2777 n snelling, roseville, mn 55113 (844) 338-7004. I don't have other details at this time. All records are with dealership of service. The exact dates are unknown as did not realize this would become a long term constant problem. I see that NHTSA id numbers 10733369 & 10871542 are similar to my case.
Takata recall. Car sputters as if running out of gas before stalling. Happens sometimes after driving a few hundred feet and other times after being driven for miles. Idles fine in park or neutral. Engine light doesn't come on. Computer shows no codes. When recranking, engine turns over several times and cranks without key being held in on position. This repeats a few times and then car drives fine. Has happened while stationary, in motion, and turning. Always at low starting speeds.
My climate control will stop working, I have no control over anything on my touch screen or bottom part of screen where you control temp. When this is happening the windows lock and only have control of the drivers side window. I have had this into the repair shop probably 8 times. They have replaced the same part 3 times.
Vehicle shut off without warning, notice on monitor said "transmission not in park" this happened 3 times within a 10 minute period. The first time I was accelerating coming from a stopped position while at a stop light. The two occurrences following that the vehicle was in motion.
My 2015/Ford Fusion is halted in neutral but the gearshift is stuck in park and I can't move it. It happened after I pulled into my parking spot and shifted the gearshift to park. I noticed the light indicator did not go to p but rather stayed at n and when I took my foot off the brake the car started moving. I have my vehicle's emergency brake on in order to prevent it from moving but due to the time of day Fords in my area are closed and cannot offer help. My vehicle does have a safety recall for this exact issue and I attempted to get it fixed in August along with another recall but the dealership told me they were backed up on the parts to fix this issue and that they would notify me when they had the parts.
