Speed Control Cable problems of the 2016 Ford Fusion

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that when the vehicle was in park, it accelerated forward and crashed into another vehicle without warning. The air bags did not deploy. No injury was reported. The vehicle was not damaged. The vehicle was towed to the seelye Ford (3820 stadium dr, kalamazoo, mi 49008) where the shift control cable bushing dislocated and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that he researched the failure on-line and found an unknown recall in which the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The shift busing cable broke while I was in reverse backing out of a parking spot. When I went to put it in drive nothing would work. The car would not even go into neutral. There are lots of recalls on this issue for this specific car , but my VIN does not come up as one of them. I just purchased the car. I am a single mother of two young children. Christmas is around the corner. I do not have the money to fix this. This is a Ford issue that Ford needs to pay for.
