Adaptive Cruise Control Problems of Ford Fusion

One day the car was fine, next morning went to start car and was greeted by multiple failure warnings - adaptive cruise control not available, service advancetrac, steering assist fault service required, and hill start assist not available. Efforts to restart without errors failed. Power steering lost and unable to turn the wheel without great effort. Parked car and towed to dealer, failure of electronic rack and pinion steering per the dealership at a cost of $2500 - $3000. Car donated to charity. Concern in submitting is a record of other recent failures of this year, make and model failing in much more dangerous situation than mine but appears that this part has reached its useful life without identification from Ford of the likelihood of failure on these older cars.

While driving down the road I start getting warning lights about lane assist, adaptive cruise control, power steering and so forth not working. The steering wheel jerks hard out of my hands and the brakes will automatically apply. I’ve tried talking to the dealership I bought it from and I never get a response. They told me that Ford bought it back from the original owner cause it was a great car but this seems to not be the case. Seems more like it’s because of its very dangerous drivability features. I’m extremely concerned about my wife driving the car and I’m constantly getting alerts through the Ford app. Took it to a different Ford dealership and was showed to me on Ford data link where this car has had this problem long before I purchased it. It’s extremely dangerous.

Nothing on my steering wheel that controls dash works.

The cylinder wall failed which led to coolant loss into the motor.

On Saturday 6/15/2024 I noticed when I opened my driver side door, the dash light & the light on my touch screen began flickering. I didn't think much about it at the time, but the next day, 6/16/2024 as myself & my wife were traveling on the highway, I tried to turn on my cruise control but it would not come on. I then tried to adjust my stereo volume on the steering wheel & it wasn't working either. Well, the next day I checked the fuses & they were fine, so that's when I went online & found out that the clock spring in the steering wheel could most likely be the problem. Well I decided to dig a little deeper into the matter & I found out that some 2016 Ford trucks had been recalled because of faulty clock springs which also could cause the airbag not to deploy when needed. I was just told by an employee from a local Ford dealership that the 2016 Ford Fusion was not a part of that recall, which I believe should have been a part of that recall, because I'm pretty sure that the same clock springs that were used in those 2016 trucks, were used in the 2016 Ford Fusions. I would like to ask that you would please look into this mater, because this is a serious mater, & I think Ford needs to fix this problem. They should be responsible for all of their vehicles with these bad clock springs & not just those trucks only. Thank you for your time & all you do to keep us safe on the road. God bless you all!.

Accident.

Apim is faulty per the Ford dealer ship. (rusty eck Ford) they state that it is a known issue but there has not been a recall. This affects the sync, navigation, instrument panel, connectivity to Ford connect app, etc. In order for some things to be used temporarily, it has to be hard reset on the console. Nothing leading up to the issue.

My Ford Fusion hybrid is no longer safe to drive. I keep it parked in front of my work. I’ve had 2 mechanics I know personally look at it and they both say the break line is cracked and is spraying out break fluid. I was driving in a stormy day and all of the sudden the break light, traction control light, slippery roads light, abs light, and advance service tech appeared. All at once I knew to drive slow and safe since I had no traction control. I restarted my car and all the lights disappeared. Than as I’m driving the next day, low break fluid was on the screen but for only a second. And it did that every time I would hit the break. So I bought break fluid and filled it up. I pressed on the breaks many times and turned the wheel to the left so I can look in the wheel well I noticed the leak and immediately knew I needed to get it serviced. I unfortunately don’t have the money and it is gonna remain in front of my work till I can figure out what to do. I looked online to find solutions and found some recalls but when I looked up my VIN it didn’t show up for my car. I can attach the recalls I found that look like they are for this issue. Please put add this to the recall list.

Driving in very heavy rain on i93 at about 40mph, exited highway, after about 5 miles, no power steering, many other functions stopped operating, limped into a parking lot, tried to reset everything by shutting off and back on, no change. Brought car to dealer, said they had to replace power steering unit, $2000. This happened when car was only two years old.

Car has a door latch recall as well.

I have 2019 Ford Fusion with only 6400 miles. Airbag light came on and took the car to dealership and they denied to cover airbag module replacement under warranty. Airbag module was bad and dealership denied to cover because I had small dent damaged on the quarter panel when I bought it. Car drives fine but has airbag light on due to bad module from the manufacture.

While trying to reverse or go into drive, my shift cable came off due to a cap being missing on it. The error �shift system fault� keeps popping up. And now it has effected my transmission to the point where my vehicle has issues with accelerating.

Brakes, emergency brake, brake switchs. Backup camera turns black while backing up. And yes it’s available for inspection. Car keeps braking and jerking in the other lane by itself. Emergency brake kept coming on by itself randomly. Also I almost hit someone when my back up camera went black. Yes the problem have been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Yes it have been inspected manufactures police and insurance representatives. Yes ever single light came on. Advanctrac light. Brake light, emergency break light, abs light and traction control light and tpms and airbags light.
