The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While driving at 15 mph, the front driver side door independently opened. As a result, the contact's door slammed into the driver side door of another vehicle. No injuries were sustained. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the quarter panel on the outer part of the door and the front driver side door latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer who confirmed that the quarter panel and all the latches on all the doors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts not being available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000.

As a result, the occupant sustained lacerations to the right hand on two separate occasions. There was no medical attention required. Also, the interior front driver side automatic door locks failed to unlock. The contact could only exit the vehicle from the passenger side door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Drivers door release handle broke internally. Parts is plastic and is brittle in cold weather. This is second time it has broken. Major issue is that driver cannot exit door in a emergency and requires jumping over console to passenger side.

This may be a huge coincidence but immediately after being sideswiped with only passenger side view mirror damaged, the driver's side door would no longer open from the inside. We thought it was related to the impact on the passenger side but this seems to be a recurring problem with Ford Fusions. We have to keep the motor running, lower the window and reach out to the exterior driver door handle to open the driver side door. This should be a Ford recall item. For awhile the airbag light will intermittently stay on while driving.

Drivers inside door handle has broken twice preventing opening the drivers door. Have found two other Fusion owners that have had the same problem.

I was a passenger in a 2010 Ford Fusion and was in the front passenger seat and another person was in the right rear passenger seat. I was exiting the car and because the door had opened to far, I used my hands to pull myself out of the car. At the same time, the passenger in the right rear seat was in the process of opening their door and exiting. Due to the close proximity of their door edge (approximately 1/16 inch) and the car itself, a finger tip on my right hand was completely amputated when the door was opened. I was taken by ambulance to hospital where surgery was performed.

A crack appeared on the driver side door interior handle. The door would not lock. Door can be opened at high speed and can also be opened when locked with the key fob. I am concerned the latch handle will break and I will not be able to open the door from the inside. The car cannot be secured against potential theft. This is a serious manufacturing issue and could be easily corrected through a recall.

Went to work Monday, March 11th, and when I got to work my driver's side door would not open from the inside so I had to roll down window and open from outside. It will not lock either.

I parked my vehicle and attempted to exit out of the driver's side door. I discovered there was no tension on the door handle. I was unable to open the door from the inside. In order to exit the vehicle, I must roll down the driver's side window and open from the outside.

When opening the driver side door, a small piece inside broke off. The door could no longer be opened from the inside. The door knob had to be replaced. When I bought the replacement part, the Ford dealer said that he sees this problem a lot with Fusions.

The chrome on the inside driver door handle is peeling and severely cut my finger.

Driver's side interior door handle broke. This is a safety issue. If I were needing to exit the vehicle in a hurry, I could not. If I were not able to roll down the power window, I would not be able to open the door from the inside.

The interior drivers door handle does not open the door. I have to unlock the door manually & reach to the exterior door handle to open the door.

After parking my car I pulled my door handle to get out of my car, when my door handle broke. The plastic is poor quality and snapped leaving my handle nearly hanging by a few pieces. This is a very common problem even so as much that when calling Ford to get it repaired they laughed at me citing it has happened with many other people. Seeing as there are several occurrences of an unanticipated problem with this vehicle I would like to recommend that this become a TSB.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle decelerated abnormally. The contact stopped the vehicle and shifted into park as the vehicle began to shake vigorously and stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics and stalled a second time on while in route. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure because the computer was not providing a failure code. The failure recurred three times. The third time, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and the technician advised that the computer was not reading a failure code but the electronic throttle body would likely have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000. Updated 03/02/lj the consumer stated the rear window, weather stripping on the doors, and door handles had to be replaced. The consumer stated there have been numerous problems with the transmission. Updated 03/08/12.

First the rear driver's side interior door handle broke when my granddaughter was attempting to open it. Recently the front driver's side interior door handle broke. The fake chrome is peeling off of the passenger side both front and rear door handles. It was peeling off of the two handles that broke but I never thought that they would break. Although I am able to open the window to access the exterior door handle to open the door in most cases, the windows don't always open in the cold weather and the door is very difficult to open using the broken door handle. I am concerned I or a passenger will be stuck in the vehicle and not be able to get out in an emergency.

Driver side interior door handle plastic separated and handle cracked. Unable to lock door without having to hold handle in. Was able to open door from the interior with great caution. Handle continued to crack all the way through and had to be replaced.

The contact noticed that the driver's side door cable and actuator were not releasing the latch; therefore, it caused the handle to fracture. The contact advised that the interior door handle was replaced several times; however, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact also stated that the repair for NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The contact received the recall notification approximately eight months ago. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

2010 Ford Fusion sel. Customer writes in regards to continued transmission problems. The consumer stated the transmission would slip harshly and hesitate on acceleration. The recall repair did not correct the transmission problems. It was determined that the valve body and solenoid body were defective. Also, one of the tires was leaking air, there was an issue with the traction and brakes. There were noises coming from the front of the vehicle. The steering wheel would not lock into place, the cd player did not work at times, the driver side visor did not stay in place, the gas over flow tube was inoperative, the vehicle would pull hard when the brake was applied. The rear driver's side door had to be slammed extremely hard, in order to close it. The driver's side seat belt was backwards. The passenger side windshield wiper dragged on the windshield and the vehicle would sometimes surge on its own. Each time the consumer went to the dealer about certain problems, she was told no problems were found.
