The vehicle shows an error on ignition stating "check advancetrack" and the abs light comes on. When driving the vehicle in this condition it has manual brakes, and they must be pressed to the floor to engage. Turning off the car and re-starting it sometimes clears the error and I am able to drive the car normally, with abs and highly responsive brakes. Ford dealership says it's caused by the failure of the abs module and the hydraulic control unit (hcu), which they claim are normal wear items not caused by driver and the cost of repair is $1,800. 00.

Left house one morning abs light came on and little to no brakes. Came back slowly to the house. Waited five minutes tried again. Again brake pedal went to the floor. Waited 2 hours and drove to my mechanic 2 miles away using back roads. Mechanic who is right on a highway went to take it for a drive. No brakes. After checking codes it was determined that it needed nee abs module and brake booster. My understanding is this has become a very serious problem that should be recalled. Had I made it to highway and had this happen at intersection it could have been a critically serious situation. Now I am spending $2264 on a fix that some have said does not help the situation. Can we please hold Ford accountable for these issues? this should be a recall. Do I even know the parts I am buying wont fail in the future or worse will I be selling a future death trap to a stranger.
4/18/17 I went to leave my home in my 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid and as I pulled out of my house and proceeded to my first stop light, I was in motion going downward on a slight hill in my neighborhood and I noticed my breaks just drop to the floor and break pedals seemed to stiffen in their flexibility and I was headed straight for a red light. I was extremely terrified and did the best I could to maintain the car under my control. . I noticed the dash was full of red lights saying check break system and abs lights were on as well ass 2 traction control llights. Had weather conditions been different and my son been in the car this could have posed a threat to our lives. It's extremely dangerous and quite unpleasant to imagine what feels like loosing your breaks. But I don't believe this is the case!! up until now I have not had any issues with my breaks, never shown any signs to be concerned with abs the car has 32k miles on it shouldn't need breaks or master c it's a faulty abs module. . I don't believe anything is actually wrong with the car. After I pulled over I turned car off and back on after checking in out a few times I started the car and noticed it looked normal for a second unlike other trys so I started to drive breaks felt fine came back up like normal and car worked but after 20 seconds of driving it cut back out flashing red warning signs and beeping. Breaks sink down and become hard to control. I see this is common problem I need this fixed I'm extremely up set how after 32k this goes out and is not a small fix.

When driving up an iced hill, tcs light flashed, indicating loss of tire traction. However, after fully losing grip, the braking system disabled itself and the vehicle ended up sliding down with only the basic braking system available to try and stop. Emergency brake was applied to no avail. Tcs, tcs off, brake, and abs indication lights were on. The tcs was not off prior to trying to drive up the hill. Vehicle health report run on car indicated a system failure in the car and requests that I bring it into a dealership immediately. This happened at 2 am in the morning when no dealerships are open.
Approaching stop sign at 25 mph, applied brakes, and the brakes completely failed, had to stop car with emergency brake. The abs and tcs lights came on. Everything else worked fine. Turned car off and restarted and all appears fine.
I was driving at about 45mph on a city street and a bicyclist pulled in front of my car. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting him. I was able to avoid an accident, but the abs light came on and the brakes were not responding as usual. I had to push down all the way on the brake pedal for the car to slow at all. I was told that because I slammed on the brakes it caused an internal fault with the abs module. The service department did not seem concerned that the brakes had failed and I was told that slamming on the brakes could typically cause this type of failure with the computer system.
