Had to replace front wheel bearings 1000+ after only 80,000 miles. Additionally, had to replace a speaker for the back up system. What kind of idiots are they. Safety issue: I also to have throttle body work done 2 years ago and the last 10 days, 31 July to 9 Aug, have had 6 episodes of the wrench light coming on with two of them resulting in sudden deceleration on the freeway.

Car told me to pull over safely. Everything locked up. The steering wheel got real tight and would not turn. I took it to a Ford dealership to have fixed and they said the power steering box went out. The car was in motion. I was on my way to work.
Rear passenger door latch on vehicle broke, causing door to fly open while driving. Within 24 hours, driver door latch suffered the same failure. Doors are open at all times, and cannot be latched. Customer believed the problem to be covered by the recall of other 2013 fusion vehicles for the same issue, but was informed that the energi was not part of that recall.

I was just driving along on a city street going about 40 mph, and all of a sudden all the dashboard lights lit up, and I couldn't break very easily. I was in the middle of traffic, and I was worried someone was going to hit me, or I wasn't going to be able to break if someone cut me off. My car had been so reliable until that moment. My car didn't break the way it always did. It took a lot more pressure to break than normal, and the breaking was very delayed. I had a few very close calls, before I could pull over. It was scary! the dealership had to replace my abs module and my hydraulic control unit, which was very expensive. I know the NHTSA is looking into many complaints of the same issue for 2010 Ford fusions. If other vehicles are having the same issue, this should be a recall!.
I have had my car for 1. 5 yrs and the mpg is getting worse and worse. I used to get 43 when I got the car and it has steadily declined to 34 mpg. I paid a premium for a hybrid that gets the millage of a regular fusion. I have asked 2 different dealerships to look at it when my car is in there for other issues. Both responses have been there is nothing we can do unless a system light on. So I also contacted Ford from my owner. Com and they gave me the same response. The longer I have it the worse millage I get. I actually love the car but, I bought this car strictly because of the gas millage it was supposed to get 42-47. Now I am stuck with a over priced car that if I sold it I would lose thousands on. I work full-time and go to school part-time. I don't have money just throw away. Please, please help me because it is obvious that Ford will do nothing to help their customers.

The power steering went out on my fusion while in motion . This should be a recall. Now the stop safely now light came on while in motion and this is apparently the mec.
Driver's door latch failed -- unable to lock drivers door, unable to open door using inside door handle.
When attempting to open the driver's side door to get out of the vehicle the handle will pull as if to open however the door will not open. The spring inside the driver's side door handle broke preventing occupants from opening the door from the interior of the car. In order to open the door the occupant must roll the window down and open the door using the exterior handle. Speaking to a Ford representative they notified me this is a common issue with the fusion models.
Issue with blower motor shorting out and smell of melting plastic from blower motor cabling. Blower motor replaced once and has since gone out again due to same issue in less than 1 year.

When ever I stop for gas the car has trouble starting. It also stopped running at a red light. After a few minutes it turned over. Car makes a strange noise when doing 40 mph or more. I don't feel anything different. But it makes a loud noise every couple seconds.
Twice I have turned right into my driveway and my car has surged forwarded as if hit from behind or the brakes failed. I am obviously at a low speed and the road slopes down slightly. My drive is gravel. It probably surged a good car length before the brakes engaged, yet my foot was on the brakes the entire time. It was scary as hell. The first time I thought I had been hit from behind by another car. The dealer looked at it today and found no issues. I'm not happy with this waiting to happen again as I have no idea what sequence of events caused it before. The first time was about a month and a half ago and the other time was one week ago.
When trying to start the car from park all warning lights illuminated, car would not turn over. Let car reset, and able to turn it over. Ford self system check via dash cluster will show brake and hybrid electric charging system problems but will reset itself after next key cycle. Not able to find codes for problem. Owned car approx 8 months, experienced problem 4 times all within 1 month.
Driver side rear bliss sensor will either indicate a vehicle is present when nothing is there or fail to indicate a vehicle is in the blind spot when present. Due to this failure, it creates a safety hazard due to driver not seeing the car and the bliss light is not on even though a car is there. Problem started around November of 2015 and I showed dealer videos of problem and dealer said no error codes so cannot fix.
While exiting the vehicle, the left-front interior door handle broke on it's lower-left corner . Because of the breakage, the door will only lock with the interior door lock. Pressing the lock button on the key fob locks all doors except the left-front.
I have an 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid. After reading all of the complaints from other drivers, I want to be pro active and find out what part, exactly is on back order for so many years. As an ase certified (re-certified) technicion, a. A. . S degree auto mechanics and a. A. S. Degree in diagnostics (1989). Now, how do I protect my wife while in the passenger seat? 2013 Ford fusion. The NHTSA campaign number: 14v597000 (air bags, seat belts); Jun 16, 2015 please advise me, and since all I need is the part. . . Go get one off the assembly line. I just love my Fusion Hybrid and I refuse to give it up. I purchased it at the dealership for an on line custom built to my specifications and the thing is loaded. I don't want to say, I don't care who dies in my fusion, as long its not me. So, you don't need to ensure I won't die just make sure I can purchase this part from the dealer or part store. Many thanks, barrie, gysgt, u. S. M. C. , dale city, virginia.
Purchased a used 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid from carmax around may 2015 with approx 25000 miles. On 8/6/15 at approx 4:15pm the car was traveling approx 65 mph on the interstate when the command on the dash was given to stop safely now. I pulled over to the shoulder and restarted the car. A week later on 8/12/15 while traveling at approximately 45mph the same message stop safely now appeared after the car shook gently. All power was disabled and was able to pull once again to the shoulder and restart without further issue. Car is currently being checked out at the Ford dealer.
Driving at highway speeds, normal operation, in sunny conditions when I lost acceleration ability and was only able to coast. The yellow wrench indicator came on (no check engine light). I was fortunate enough to move to the should safely since there was limited traffic on the highway and I was driving in the right lane. I cycled the car off and on and was able to resume normal operation. This same situation happened twice more in city driving before I could get into the dealer for an appointment. Eventually the dealer evaluated the vehicle and replaced the electronic throttle body.
Driving into work in the morning on a 3 lane busy road, the "stop safely now" alert came on and the car stalled. It came to a complete stop while I was in the middle lane of the road with cars rushing around me to be on their way. I had to get out of the car and, with the help of some good samaritans, push it to safety across 4 lanes of traffic into a commercial parking lot. The car would not restart. I had it towed to the dealership where it was held for 7 days and they told me it "just started working over the weekend and we don't know why it failed because there weren't any error codes to read". Here is the report from the dealership: "towed in wrench light came on and stop safely light came on also caused by no crank, no start. Self test, 20 dtc s. Cleared dtc s. Started ok after dtc s cleared. Road tested & retested, dtc s did not return. Needs to be driven more. " I have played phone tag with the Ford customer rep for weeks now and I have grown irritated. I do not have any trust in this car to reliably keep myself, my wife and newborn child safe. We feel helpless at this point because there doesn't seem to be any concern or reassurance shown on Ford's behalf and we're stuck in a car that we owe more than its worth. The money would feel more well spent had there have been some effort shown by Ford to make it right and rebuild our trust in their product. However, this has not been the case and it looks like we're on our own to just deal with this major safety issue as it comes up or drown ourselves in negative equity by trading it in for a car that we can trust. This car is a safety risk to myself, my family and the general public.
Opened passenger side door to remove belongings from vehicle and when closing door it bounced back open. On investigation the latch will not stay locked in place so door can not be properly closed.
Acceleration went out. Just quit working while on interstate. Fortunately was able to coast over three lanes to shoulder. Ford dealer mechanic told me "have to reset computer. That it happens". It was second time it happened. First time was three years ago while pulling out of parking lot.

Above date and mileage is an estimate. The second incident occurred on 11-29-14. Stop safety hazard warning light comes on. (indicates hybrid component fault/failure that will cause the vehicle to shut down, fail to start or enter into a limited operating mode). Vehicle looses power. Pulled to side of road. Turned ignition off. Waited a few minutes. Restarted car. This has happened twice in the two years that I have owned the vehicle. The initial time was less than a year prior to the second incident driving at the same speed. Vehicle mileage at the time of the second incident was approximately 14,234. Vehicle was taken to a local Ford dealership after the second incident for check. Description of work done: -several scans were done -code hybrid power train control module was disabled. -no reason why. Could not replicate. This has happened multiple times so it is not a coincidence. It is a dangerous safety hazard in traffic.
I was traveling approximately 55 mph under normal driving conditions when the car lost power and I was able to drift to side of road. Wrench light came on. I waited a few minutes and restarted the car. It idled rough at first but I was able to continue the drive home without incident. I researched this problem on the internet and discovered that Ford fusions of my year and mileage were experiencing this issue. The first recommended coarse of action was to use a throttle body cleaner. I did this and the car seemed to operate fine under conditions 25 mph. I set off to work on the 6th and the car shut off on me six times before I could make it twenty miles and get back to the house. This is an obvious manufacturers defect and needs to be handled appropriately.
Why has nothing been done yet? I'm a fairly poor upstanding member of society, and I was trying to be green. Now I'm stuck with a $16,000 go cart that I cant drive on a highway because it can't go over 35mph. I had 2 yellow wrenches on my dash. I was stuck in a one lane rode with no place to pull over and about 100 people honking at me. I have been a faithful Ford owner for over 13 years; I've been telling my friends and CO-workers how great they are. Now I have to beg for them to fix my car, or I can go get ripped off by my local dealer. Please help. I thought you people were better than this.
Airbag switches under driver seat and front passenger seat are always getting thrown and cause airbag light to go off in dash. There needs to be a better item that is not so sensitive to people riding in the back seat. When they put their feet under the front seats it throws the switch and causes the airbag light to come on in the dash.
I have 15,500 miles on my fusion and was informed by Ford (window sticker) that I would have 41 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. A saving for the increased prices of the hybrid of $1,421 each and every years. I was lied to by the staff at the skillman Ford dealership, I am lucky to get 32 miles per gallon, the same as a regular fusion. I lost money and will not be able to sell the vehicle for the price of a hybrid. Ford motor company cheated me out of money and lied on the window sticker.
