My wife (donna) on her way home from work became involved in an accident where the air bags did not deploy when they should have. She was clipped on the left rear quarter panel which spun her around causing a second SUV to impact the drivers door pushing her and flipping her until she impacted a cement barrier between opposite traveled lanes. The impact at the barrier was stong enough that it pushed the radiator aginst the motor and the motor toward the firewall. Fortunately she was not seriously injured and the air bags were not needed, but what if that cement barrier had not been there and she would have skidded into oncoming traffic where the air bags would have been a contributing factor in saving her life?.
