The contact was a witness to the failure in a 2005 Ford Mustang. While lifting the front driver and passenger seat side latches, which operate the movement of the seat to the back seat, the latch shattered into several pieces. The owner was unable to access the back seat due to this failure. There was no warning prior to this failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact is the owner of a vehicle of the same year, make, and model; therefore, he was concerned of the safety risk involved. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown.
: the contact stated water had leaked onto the vehicle's carpet causing a moldy smell. This happened more frequently on a rainy day and when the vehicle was parked. The contact expressed that water had leaked through the front right passenger door, and the door latches could be the cause. The vehicle was taken to the dealership to diagnosis the problem. But they did not find anything that could generate a water leak.
