The contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the vehicle was hard shifting with a delay while shifting gears. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic stated that there was no failure found and that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 90,000.
Transmission has shifted rough almost from the start but has gotten progressively worse. Currently have 15,000 miles on it. Transmission is often slow to upshift and frequently slams into lower gears. Most dangerous situation when accellerating back up from a stop or slowing down transmission delays several seconds before engaging which has caused me to have several near misses when the car did not respond to me giving it gas. Ford dealer said they could not replicate problem or find any codes.
While traveling between 70 and 75 mph when I let off the throttle my car will down shift (automatic transmission) to lower gear causing a dangerous condition. It is like hitting the brakes without the brake light going on. Also when coming to stop sign it abruptly down shifts, I have not been hit in the rear yet but I am concerned. Brought to dealer three times dealer denies condition because he cannot duplicate it. This is an intermittent condition. I am starting to see it documented on forums.
