Mt82 transmission is hard to shift into 1st and 2nd, also grinds going into second. Started to happen while driving.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. While driving, the vehicle failed to shift into first gear. There were no warning indicators illuminated. When the vehicle was restarted, it drove normally. In addition, when the vehicle was in reverse, the transmission became difficult to shift. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
While driving at 40 mph the car lost power and was only able to move at about 2-3 mph. A wrench warning light came on. Driving the car at this speed was unsafe and in hind sight I should have parked it and towed to a dealer.
Throttle control transmission light/ illuminates when a powertrain fault is detected. If the light remains on or continues to come on contact your authorized dealer for service as soon as possible.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 moh, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000. Ak.
2011 Ford Mustang, while driving home from work at 45-50 mph car shuttered. Then no power, no throttle response with engine holding steady 1100 rpm. Wrench light on dash lit up, rpm at 1100rpm press throttle- no response at all. Steering, brakes all functioning. Turned key off and restarted, car ran fine and has not happened again yet. Car has less than 46000 miles. .
Driving in city @ 35mph, went to accelerate and nothing happened. Thought engine stalled but still had ps & pb,s. Called local shop, said to turn off & restart. Did and throttle returned. Two days later, happened again, on county highway @ about 60 mph. Pulled over, turned off, restarted, went to local shop. No check engine light or wrench ?? light came on. Computer test all negative, but probably a bad electronic throttle body needed @ $ 500. + . Took car and got on line, not going to spend $ until sure of exact issue. Found NHTSA csp 13n03 , addressing my identical issue for 2011 fusions & escapes with v6 engines, but haven't found for 2011 Mustang. This extends warranty to 150,000, and 10 years. I have 109,879 miles now, and issue happened twice today on interstate @ 75 mph. Popped to nuetral, killed key, restarted on roll both times. After parking car for short while and restarting, check eng ine lite on. Went back to shop & re-tested, this time, throttle body and associated issues dignosed. Since this is obviously a safety issue that is well documented on other models, I need to have my issue treated equally. What can you do to help?? humbly, melody & kenneth pitts.
I arrived home from work and noticed some coolant leaking out of my car. I popped the hood and saw coolant seeping from the weep hole. When I cranked the car back up, coolant started pouring out underneath the car, bad water pump. I had it towed to dealership today and was told there is a technical bulletin on the hose leading to water pump because it allows air in and causes the water pump to fail. The entire area has to be replaced with a new hose that includes a check valve, so it doesn't continue to happen. This is an obvious manufacturing defect. I was told any car that came in without a check valve has to be replaced with the new hose including a check valve and that I have to incur the entire expense $486 plus tax because hoses are not covered by powertrain warranty. I called Ford and was told due to no recall, I would not be reimbursed for this service. Even though, he also admitted that there is a technical bulletin issued by Ford regarding this problem. I have googled this and the same problem is all over the Mustang forums. Ford is refusing to stand by their product. Luckily, I was at home when this occurred and not out traveling the highway. This would cause the car to overheat and an accident can occur. Ford is refusing to cover any cost of the repair. This is a safety issue and concerns numerous consumers, not just me.
My vehicle loses acceleration of any kind intermittently. This always happens when my foot is off the gas pedal. When I pull over and put the car in park it hesitates loudly. If I turn the car off and let it sit it starts fine after a minute or two. The tech said it is the throttle body and needs to be replaced.
Vehicle speedometer seems to be 8-15 mph too fast . Definitely off .
I've never had similar issue before this. I was accelerating slowly at a speed of approximately 20-30 mph when the car lurched, the "traction control" light and wrench light came on, and I was unable to accelerate the car at all. I was forced to pull to the side of the road. After about 30 seconds I attempted to restart the car and the engine turned a few extra times but did start. I was able to drive home (within 0. 5 mile) at very slow speeds. Over the next day I tested the car on back roads: it frequently required the engine to turn extra in order to start, and it seemed that whenever I tried to accelerate too rapidly the problem returned and I was forced to coast/brake to a stop and restart the engine. If I accelerated very slowly I was able to drive the car but at no point could I pass 20-30 mph. I had the car towed to my Ford dealership where they diagnosed an electronic throttle body failure based on eec test and code p2112. They noted a stuck etb actuator and etb actuator binding causing system to go into failsafe mode. The etb assembly and full throttle body was replaced and the car drives well now. This is a big safety issue because if I had been on a major freeway or a hill (as are frequent in my area) I could have been involved in a serious injury. The dealership was not aware of or did not offer any extended warranties for defective throttle bodies or sensors and if this exists I am interested to pursue reimbursement of the cost of my repairs and labor.
At high rpm's in 2nd gear would not shift into 3rd twice this happened. On normal road conditions noticed 3rd was like neutral so I would have to go from second to fourth then in doing that 4th gear was having issues whether I'm up shifting or downshifting 3rd and 4th no longer work under any condition they feel like neutral so now I only can us 1,2,5,6 I no longer have a 3 and 4 . So while at track car never went passed second and the drive home was missing 2 gears just like that.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the wrench warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle decelerated until it came to a complete stop. The vehicle would idle roughly and became very difficult to restart. The problem recurred approximate four times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.
While driving under normal conditions the engine service light came on. I checked the comnputer codes and received a p2111 code which indicates a stuck open throttle actuator control sytem.
Car stalls while driving. Every time I drive it stalls when applying the gas mildly. Error code p2112 throttle body actuator stuck closed. No carbo no hit, clean throttle body.
Vehicle is difficult ( feels notchy ) to shift gears between first and second gears. Ambient temperature is not a factor. The problem is constant regardless to outside temperatures. Occasionally gears grind when shifting at higher rpms. Vehicle does not seem to grab into gear completely one gears are shifted from first through third gears. In addition too: vehicle is difficult to steer/ vehicle seems to drift to the left side of roadway.
The car lost power and a wrench icon showed up on dashboard. I was driving and manage to get to the side of the road. I turned off the car and when I tried to restart it the start switch got stuck and it wouldn't start. I had to try twice before I was able to start the car to make it home. This is the third time it happens. I had brought in the car for service, back at the beginning of this year, more than four times to the dealer where I got it from rountreemoore in lake city, FL. They said there is nothing wrong with it. It is still under warranty.
Getting on turnpike I went through the gear when I went into it grind real bad. Also down shifting it would grind. It was okay in all the other gears. Also when first driven it was hard to shift until trans warms up.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the front passenger side and rear window tint were deteriorating. The tint was impacting visibility and was removed on the front passenger side. The rear window tint was not removed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer multiple times, but no remedy was provided. Upon making a turn or while traveling at any speed, the gears downshifted too fast. The dealer replaced the transmission, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.
When slowing down I notice the car has a delayed down shit almost like a hit from the back, ive never experience this type of ride unless the car had transmission issues, I really hope thats not the problem the car is only 2 yrs old and the warranty is gone on it, I have read in the forums online where others are experiencing this same unexplained down shift. This appears to be some type of factory goof up and it really makes Ford look bad (this is my first Ford). Now I understand why people have such low faith in american made cars you get a warranty thats over in 3 years and you have mechanical problems such as this that should be recalled and serviced immediately.
Car has a long crank time, before the engine starts. Causing ware on starter and flywheel making a noisy start. The hood has paint bubbles on the front right side and now at 70k miles needs a repaint. Car would stall at the stop light, or would not go when the light turned green or making a u-turn. Intermitinly check engine light would come on for a cam position sensor. Car at 70k miles, wont pass an emission inspection. Car value, with known paint problem is decreased. Dealer wants $400 to fix hood spot another $200 to look at transmission, $110 to look at the cam sensor issue. My last new Ford!.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. The contact was traveling 25 mph when the vehicle failed to shift into second and third gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired and the VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 27,000.
When slowing to turn left into a parking lot waiting for traffic in the other direction to pass so that I could safely turn. . . Once it is safe to turn, when I step on the accelerator pedal, there is a very slow response time for the vehicle to start accelerating. This is extremely dangerous in that the car won't get out of the way quickly. It hesitates for about 2 seconds after I press the accelerator pedal before any acceleration. This only happens in the condition that I don't come to a complete stop before turning. If I slow to approximately 5 mph or less and then press the pedal to accelerate into the turn, that is when there is a delayed response.
Mt-82 transmission has begun to whine .
I read several details about people having difficulty shifting in high revs or when driving fast but I do neither. I travel at highway speeds and have had difficulty shifting from one gear to another and end up reducing my speed in order to have the transmission engage or even speed up just to "hunt" for the next gear. On three occasions this has caused me concern while driving on surface streets becasue traffic is heavy and some people drive very fast and close. I am getting ready (next week) to take my car to the dealer and have them examine the problem becasue it is causing me concern about my saferty and that of family members. My wife does not want to drive it anymore becasue she was also experiencing shifting difficulties. Additionally, there is a vibration occurring while shifting or getting ready to shift that has never occurred in any other manual transmission vehicle I have owned.
I was sitting at a red light waiting for the light to change to green. When the light turned green I was unable to shift in to 1st or 2nd gear. Fortunately I was able to shift in to 3rd gear and get the car moving before coming a road hazard.
Inability to shift into gears while merging into traffic or while turning left across oncoming traffic both driver and passenger power seats will not move forward or back.
2011 Mustang gt with 6477 miles, with 6 speed manual transmission. Taking off from a stop sign and attempting to shift from from 1st gear to 2nd gear, resulted in only being able to shift from 1st gear to neutral. Once the shifter moved into the neutral position, the vehicle is no longer able to shift into any gear. Had to coast the vehicle to a safe stopping point with no engine power and towed to the nearest dealer for repair. This is the 2nd incident with the transmission on this vehicle in less than 1 year, with the prior incident being a faulty slave clutch cylinder. (this vehicle is not equipped with the 'skip shift' feature that is meant to increase gas mileage by locking out certain gears. ).
Purchased new 2011 Mustang gt. Been having problems with gears being very notchy and difficult to shift. I have had 2 accounts where I was nearly rearended while coming off a yield due to the fact that 4th gear would not shift in place. 4th gear consistently locks at high rpm, 5th gear grinds, and all gears are hard to manage in below 60 degree temperatures. It has been at the dealership for a month and a half, got it back and within 2 weeks the same problems arose. Currently back at the dealership. Ford has done nothing to resolve this recurring issue.
Bad shift quality, radical shifting, take off jerk or trying to stall at take off on 6r80 automatic transmission. Forward motion with brake applied at stop sometimes. Rear end pops and jerks loudly when these things happen. Been happening for about 2 years now. Has been in shop for these reasons 8 times in 2 years at 2 different dealerships with no fix! everything mostly happen at low speed between 1st and 2nd gears or even at stop. Very unsafe to drive as is but Ford dealership says everything is normal and blaming driving habits on wife and I, even after many parts have been replaced! it is not fixed and Ford will help!.
Very notchy transmission and can't shift gear at certain rpm's. Also, transmission would pop out of gear on the highway. All problems started appearing after the first 1000 miles. When complained to Ford, I was told that all of those problems are normal.
If I take my foot off of the gas the car seems to lower it's rpms by itself almost to the point of it feeling like it is braking without any help from me. This happens pretty much at any speed. Also there seems to be an issue when slowing/stopping and accelerating. When I start slowing down and then have to press the gas the car jolts like it goes from 1st gear to 4th gear instantly. This is not a good feeling at all and kind of scary. It almost feels like the car is going to take off without me. Had this issue before and after the transmission was replaced at 1500 miles.
