I scheduled my appointment to get the recalls taken care of and the car went into "protective mode" as soon as the call was made. I took it into the shop and now I have to pay for the diagnostic to turn my adaptive cruise control back on. The cruise control is a subset of the recall issue and I am being charge. It is at metro Ford in tupelo, mississippi. I called the Ford recall center for help, but they put me off and said I should get a call from someone next week. I am paying for the diagnostic and repair because I have to and I need my car, but Ford is running a recall scam.

Hi, I was driving on the freeway and suddenly my car stopped accelerating. I would push the acceleration pedal but it wouldnt speed up. And for a few times it would speed up very much. This was very rapid fluctuation. I also noticed that the cruise control was not working. This was very scary being on the highway with this kind of speed fluctuation. After I came back home, I noticed that the brake light wouldnt turn off at all. After doing some research I found that the brake light switch broke and the car was sensing that the brake was being applied and hence was doing acceleration fluctuations. I also found out that there are many other same vehicles which has the same issue.

On December 9, 2023, I was driving my 2022 Ford Mustang on interstate 70 (westbound) and received the following notifications: "pre-collision assist not available" and "powertrain malfunction/reduced power. " this resulted in an inability for the car to rev above 4000 rpm which was problematic for driving on an interstate in the mountain. Additionally, driver assists were disabled. The message cleared after the car was turned off for ~ 2 hours, but the pre-collision assist intermittently incorrectly identified objects prompting braking when acc was activated. However, about a week later, the car suffered a cracked windshield prompting replacement on 12/29/23. Following replacement, the car gave a message saying, "front camera malfunction. Service required. " despite recalibration attempts at both safelite autoglass and my local Ford dealership, the camera has remained dysfunctional. Similarly, apart from the initial "front camera malfunction" message upon starting the car, there is no indication that pre-collision, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking are disabled for the duration of the drive. On 2/23/24, I received a call from safelite stating that the "manufacturer of the windshield had issued a precautionary recall where it looks like the camera bracket can possibly detach and cause some issues with the advanced safety systems. " upon returning their call, it was confirmed that my vehicle, 2022 Ford Mustang, was affected by the precautionary recall. Therefore, I was scheduled to take my car in for a new part and told that I could seek reimbursement from Ford. However, upon further discussion with my Ford dealership and Ford motor company customer service team, I was told that they were unaware of a recall. Similarly, when further information was requested from safelite, I was told that "we are not allowed to give out that information. " as of this submission, the advanced safety systems remain inoperable.
Pre-collision assist not available, hill start assist warning messages multiple times since 12/24/22. Both errors happened after having the 10r80 transmission worked on and recalls associated with VIN corrected from 10/06-12/22. Warning messages popped up on message center on dash at time of error. This greatly increases the risk of being in an accident and causing harm to myself or someone else. Vehicle has not been inspected. Ford was contacted 01/30/23. I was told to check for obstructions in front of camera behind rear-view mirror. No obstructions found, car is kept in pristine condition. Awaiting response from Ford for an appointment day and time to have issue corrected.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 22v011000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, while driving with the cruise control activated, the brake pedal was depressed but instead the vehicle accelerated and failed to stop as needed. The contact stated that an excessive amount of pressure was needed to depress the brake pedal while stopping the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure only occurred while the cruise control was activated. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and the mechanic was also able to duplicate the failure. The dealer diagnosed that the cruise control had malfunctioned and caused the brakes to not operate as needed to deactivate the cruise control. The dealer replaced the cruise control switch; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
My car has started to have problems with some of its features. Cruise control, pre collision assist, traction control, back up camera and some other features have all become unavailable.

Rubber stopper on brake sensor dry rotted and broke off. This caused the car to think I was applying the brakes when I wasn’t. It would cut the throttle while trying to maintain speed and my brake lights were always on even though I wasn’t touching the brakes or in the car for that matter.
This issue is when a haze develops on the inside of the windshield in the line of sight of the forward facing camera that detects vehicles, objects, traffic lanes and rain sensing. Since this area of the windshield is enclosed, there is no way to clean it. This is not condensation but dust particles that adhere to the glass, possibly from ac or heat that flows along the windshield and also it possibly enhanced in humid climates. When the issue occurs, the dash warning will appear stating, "front camera low visibility clean screen" and the outside windshield is definitely not dirty. I've taken this to my local Ford dealership and they claim they have no way to address the problem and suggested I take it to a windshield replacement shop, such as safelite, they also said it is not covered under any Ford warranty. I find this odd, since it is a potential design defect with the vehicle. This is a random occurrence and because of the warning, I fear it diminishes the accuracy of everything the front sensor detects and could be potentially dangerous. I've found several postings in vehicle forums online with the same issue but nothing about Ford or anyone resolving it, so this is not an isolated issue. Here is one posting in a forum showing the warning as well as images of the camera/windshield area that is the issue. . Read more...

Traveling on highway using cruise control at posted speed limit. Approached slowdown due to accident and applied brakes. Accelerated to limit (manually) after passing accident. I was in middle lane. Vehicle abruptly began to decelerate. Continuous pressure on gas pedal did not increase speed, so I put on hazards and moved to slow lane. No failures on dashboard and quick scan through gages did not identify an issue. Re-applied pressure to gas pedal wanting to get to next exit. Car sped up, but when approaching 50 mph, it decreased again. Found that pumping gas would allow me to maintain highway speed. Pulled into truck stop at exit and turned car off. Message on console "hill start assist not available". Let vehicle rest 15 minutes, added gas. Quick web search seemed to point to problem with abs sensor. Seemed to drive ok in parking lot and road leading to highway ramp. Decided to try to get closer to home. Problem occurs immediately after climbing to 50 mph. Cruise control won't work. By carefully monitoring speed and pumping gas into overdrive when needed, I was able to get home. Could not get appointment with dealership until late afternoon next day. Hill start assist message comes on again when stopping. After arriving home and parking in garage I went inside for about 30 minutes. Needed to unload items from car and went back to garage noticing that the strip of lights above trunk are still on. Got back in car, started it (got hill assist message), turned lights on/off and turned off car. Now my rear brake lights are also on. I had seen a post about this, so unhooked battery to prevent drain. Next morning, reattached battery and had same problem. After more internet investigation, awesome humans who have also had this dangerous issue and provided a $5 fix instead of a $500+ dealership fix. . Read more...
My my trunk has a set of cords that have been caught in my trunk door and severed in half. They are then too short to fix. Basically im stuck I do believe it wasn’t thought through very well. Current problems(these are all on my Ford app) -restraints indicator lamp warning - pre collision assist not available vehicle health report: problems 1. Power train malfunction / reduce power 2. Forward collision avoidance, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, driver notification and auto high beam control stopped working on 2018 Ford Mustang. Car currently in shop having image processing module recalibrated for $1232. 22. This is a known issue for other Mustangs as indicated by recall 20s26. Ford claims my car is not included in this recall even though it appears to be for the same, known issue. The system alerts me this is not working as soon as the car is started via message on dash and several beeps.
