Low tire warning came on. Went to tire shop. They removed the tire & said it could not be repaired. While the tire was off the rim, he said we need to take pictures. The sidewall was cracking from the inside out. He said there was no damage on the outside of the tire. Pirelli tires p235/55r17 I have the pictures, but you website will not allow me to upload them.

There was a pencil mark on the inside tire wall where there was a leak. On the test drive there was a light on the dash indicating low pressure. Prior to pick up I was told it was repaired. On -27-23 I was driving the car and was lusting towards the center of the road after I regained control I had the tire checked at a tire shop and found that a patch had been put on the inside of the tire on the sidewall. The problem was reported to bbb and the dealer has not responded. I am in possession of the tire. No one has inspected the tire.

The contact owns a 2002 Ford Mustang with federal super steele tires, line size 245/45 r17. The contact stated that the front driver side and rear passenger side tires split along the sidewall. Within 4,000 miles the same failure occurred on the front passenger and rear driver side tires. The manufacturer replaced the tires every time the failure occurred yet the contact stated that the tires were replaced with defective tires. The contact was concerned because the tires failed at less then 20,000 miles. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 64,000.

2 tires with sidewall stress issues in a period of 10 months 12,000 miles I spoke to the tire company who advised me that I "probably hit a curb or pot hole which caused a knot on the side of the tire", which did not happen. I had rapid deflation while traveling down the road on the first incident. Good luck had the tire on the rear of the vehicle and lose of control was minimal. The second, I was able to detect early. I had to dispose of the first tire when I had it replaced. I felt this may have been "a just by chance" incident, however when this occurred to the second tire, I now feel otherwise. Just wanted to know if this had been reported in this tire line yet.

The contact owns a 2003 Ford Mustang. The vehicle has sumitomo htrzii tires, size 315/35/r17. The tires were purchased in March of 2009. While driving 5 mph and attempting to make a left turn, the contact struck a rounded curb. This caused a large slit in the sidewall of the tires. The damage was inexplicable based on the nature of the impact. Several tire dealers stated that they have seen this type of failure numerous times with that particular tire brand and model. The failure mileage was less than 200 miles for the tires. The failure and current mileages were less than 48,000. Updated 05/13/09. The consumer also stated he has an issue with the tire size of the sidewall. The consumer stated a sidewall o a 2 rated tire, should be just as strong as the tread. Updated 05/13/09.

My wife and granddaughter where driving home when the front right side tire side wall failed at 50mph and the tire departed the cars rim. Luckily my wife was able to maintain control of the car and was traveling at a safe speed and was able to stop the car on the rim only safely. I check tire pressure and maintain it to car and tire manufactures specifications on our Ford Mustang since it is a high performance tire and car. I 'am extremely upset at bridgestone as this tire should not have failed and compromised the safety of my wife and grandchild.

I was doing some routine maintenance on my 2003 jack roush edition svt cobra coupe when I noticed something really scary. The inside sidewall seam of a front and rear tire was splitting around its circumference. I'm certain that had I been driving at speed or on a hot road surface that pressures would have built to the point of causing a blow-out. I had a similar tire defect, coincidentally, with another set of bfg-kd's that were on my roush convertible. Unfortunately for me that tire blew out while I was on the road from the port in florida to my new duty station in texas. Anyway, I got in touch with bf goodrich corporate and initially only offered 50% reimbursement of all four tires. Later that change to 75% then they agreed to replace them with 4 new bfg-kds in my roush-oem sizes. They claim that due to tread wear their warranty allows for that compensation. My position was that I should receive 100% reimbursement because whether or not the tires had x% of tread remaining or were new, the fact remains that they were still defective. The first time I was unlucky because the tire blew-out right I was going to put more air in it. This time I caught the defect before the tires could blow-out. One can only imagine what would have been the result if a blow-out occurred especially if it happened while I was traveling at my "normal" speeds. Since this claim I have done some research and discovered that other owners of bfg tires have experienced the same defect which has resulted in tire failure. Additionally the bfg tire distributor in my area (t. O. Haus, omaha ne) confirmed that they too have seen these failures before in my exact type of tire. Bfg corporate knows that there is a problem and has chosen to ignore it and only offers partial reimbursement for loss. I'm certain that it will take more tragedies and fatalities before they are held accountable for their defective product.

I bought a 2003 gt Mustang conv on Friday April 15, 2005. The car had 14432 miles on it and as far as I know it was the original tires. On Friday April 22, 2005 I left from work. I was driving down I-575 toward canton when I heard a loud noise. Then I heard a thumping noise and I realized that I had a flat tire. I tapped on my brakes to slow down and get over. I was going the speed limit of 65. Then I heard a loud pop. At that time my car fishtailed and I lost control of the car. I ran into the guardrail causing me to spin around landing with the rear passenger side against the guardrail. That was the tire that blew. I blacked out during the accident. I came too and slammed the door open not really realizing what had happened. A day later my neck started killing me. I went to the emergency room on Sunday April 24. They told me that I had lost some of the natural curvature in my neck and that I was having muscle spasms. They put me on pain medicine and muscle relaxers. The tire completely split apart at the sidewall. The size of the tires was p245-45r17. They were goodyear eagle zr tires.

Road hugger rage tires, mfg. By kelly springfield, size 245/45/17, have developed substantial circumferential sidewall cracks on low mileage, high tread tires. Same cracks present in 3 of the 4 tires on the vehicle. This is the same as described in recall 98t002 on similar tires by same mfg. Contacted kelly springfield customer service and they refused to replace tires. Later failure of one tire resulted in low-speed accident.

I have had to replace all 4 of these tires at a cost of 685 dollars to myself. The tires are coming apart at where the tread meets the sidewall much the same as the firestone tires that are being recalled. I took the vehicle into pauls tires in marion indiana and they would not replace them because fincannon Ford did not buy the warranty. I then took them to another kelly dealer here in muncie. They called kelly and kelly denied any other complaints of this and I was charged for the replacemnet of the tires. The first ones to go bad were the front tires. Now the passenger rear is doing the same thing. I would think that people should be aware that firestone is not the only manufacturer having this separation problem. Had I not have been putting brakes on this car I would not have even noticed that the tires were separating. Most people do not look at the tires on their car. (tiresize: p255/40r17)( dot number: tire size: p255/40r17 ).
