One problem related to steering linkages has been reported for the 1997 Ford Ranger. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was driving at approx 65 mph when heard loud noise underneath vehicle, steering wentout, could not control vehicle. Due to the defect, vehicle went off road into a open field. Took vehicle to dealership,claims nut in washer felloff which caused the pitman arm to do the same. Dealer had to restall a new one.
