Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Ford Ranger, the contact inquired about the airbag recall notice from Ford motors in March of 2018, the contact called Ford in April twice and inquired about NHTSA recall number 18v023000 passenger and drivers side airbags exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The contact received the first recall notice in March of 2018. The contact was advised by Ford at that time to call another Ford dealership after the second phone call to see if parts were available. The contact then called the same Ford dealership a third time in may of 2018 and was advised that parts were still not available. The vehicle was not taken to a dealership or independent mechanic as the parts were not available to complete the recall. The manufacturer was not contacted and made aware of the issue. No failure had been experienced with the vehicle. Cb.
2006 Ford Ranger. Consumer writes in regards to driver and passenger side air bag safety recall. The consumer stated the dealer advised the first set of replaced airbags were temporary airbags and would need to return to have the another repair completed. The consumer requested information about the temporary airbag.
Takata recall: I was notified of the recall early in 2016. The passenger side airbag was replaced on 4/22/2016. I was informed that the parts for the driver side airbag were not available and I would be notified when they came available. I have followed up with the dealership on a regular basis, always being told no parts were available. It is now January of 2018 and the local news media is reporting that people are being advised to not drive there vehicles due to the danger of the air bag. The local dealership states they still do not have the parts and they don't have any other information regarding the recall. I need my vehicle for work and feel this whole matter has taken entirely too much time.
"takata recall" �your dealer is autrhorized to provide a rental vehicle for your personal transportation . . . � my problem is the dealer tells me that they have a back log on the driver's side air bag. This has been going on for more than a year. My vehicle is my only mode of transportation and I have missed 2 doctor appointments that requires me a one and one half hour to drive. The problem is the dealer tells me that Ford will only pay for 2 days rental. I also live in a rural area of north arkansas. At this date, the dealer is still waiting for the back order, has no cars to rent, and being in a rural area there are no car rental agencies with in a short distance.
Takata recall. Driver side airbag. Dealers claim no availability of parts, one says it is not even designed. Ford says they are making parts as fast as they can, will give no estimate of when they will be available. I have called them numerous times. They gave me a case number, which I gave to the dealership. Dealership says that makes no difference. Now I must drive a vehicle which could be hazardous to life.
Takata recall I do not feel safe driving my vehicle because there is no replacement part for the driver side airbag and if my air bag goes off I could die or my passenger could die.

Takata recall, I have been waiting for almost a year for a replacement for my driver's side airbag. I received my recall notice on February 2016. My passenger side bag was replaced in 2015. I do not feel safe driving this truck.
