1 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 09/01/2026

Vehicle has a reoccurring no throttle response issue on turns only, not in a traction/stability loss scenario. Not during any abnormal body roll scenario's . Has happened many times with no related codes present. The vehicle now has 13k miles but first started around 2k miles. The issues typically happens when driving at normal speeds, if the throttle is let off then throttle is depressed again there is no throttle response and the vehicle will not accelerate ranging from 2 seconds up to 10 seconds on one instance, before it figures out what gear it should be in and then acceleration is back to normal. Sometimes when power is returned, the transmission will slam into gear. During these occurrence's , the engine does not shut off and there are no loss to other functions besides a dead pedal. I am considering this a major safety issue being that once of these occurrences was making a left turn on a green arrow, when I was slowing down for the light, light turned to a green arrow and had a lot of time to safely make the turn before the on coming car in heading the opposite direction, except the throttle did not respond at all and was left coasting through the turn with the oncoming car getting dangerously close. A large risk for a accident is present in a lot of scenarios. The vehicle has been inspected with no issues found and cannot duplicate at the time being that the issue is very inconsistent and may happen twice in 2 weeks, or once in 5 months, each time no codes present in vehicle modules.

2 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 08/18/2026

I am not a mechanic or a 'car person', so I may not know technical terms. This has occurred 4-6 times since purchasing the truck in March '26. After initial start up, it has a tendency to accelerate when applying the break. This is only within the first several minutes after startup. The most recent incident caused the truck to "roll" into the main street rather than coming to a complete stop. I was applying the break, but the truck was 'resisting' to come to a complete stop. The local Ford mechanic found this to be "undesirable, but normal characteristic". The situation that is occurring is anything but normal. The Ford dealer was able to replicate the situation, but deemed it to be "no further instructions on fixes or issues related to this concern and no further action can be perfomed" the truck is available for inspection. This is a major safety issue as I was unable to stop the truck before entering the main road. Yes, the truck was inspected by the dealer. There were no warning messages.

3 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 07/29/2026

No incident occurred. This is to report a safety issue related to the activation of the rear view camera while driving forward. There are times when a vehicle (automobile/motorcycle) may be following closely, and the rear view mirrors are inadequate to see the following vehicle clearly. If the rear view camera is activated, the image projected by the camera is obscurred by a message stating "full view not available". There appears to be no way to remove this message so that the image in not obsurred. See attached photo.

4 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 07/29/2026

The cooling fan clutch control wire is supported by a "wire support hose" between the engine block and the fan clutch. The cooling fan clutch control freely rotates on a raceway on the drive shaft. The purpose of the support hose is to prevent the fan clutch control from freely rotating, but allows the control a limited range of movement as the drive shaft changes speed with engine rpm. The idea is that this hose prevents undue stress on the control wire. Hose is normally a consumable part that may need replaced with age, heat, etc. The hose is not sold as a replacement part and can only be obtained by purchasing a new fan clutch. When the hose fails, the control wraps around the drive shaft causing damage to the fan clutch control and wiring requiring replacement. The circuit on which the fan clutch control sits is integrated with no less than 6 other critical vehicle systems including oil pressure. When the incident occurs, all these systems generate errors that put the vehicle into limp mode until repair can be made. The fan clutch control wiring support hose should be a bracket with a different mechanical linkage solution to support wire while allowing the necessary limited movement. This low-tech hose solution causes outsized damage when it fails, effectively disabling the vehicle which creates a safety concern and undue hardship from an unnecessarily cascading damage effect. Ford acknowledges this defect by redesigning this feature for 6g Rangers but will not proactively correct through manufacturer recall 5g Rangers. If Ford will not correct, I believe the NHTSA should get involved and force Ford's hand at addressing this repair.

5 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 06/07/2026

The vehicle occasionally will change drive modes while in motion. In the past three months, it has switched from normal to baja mode three times and from normal to rock crawl mode one time. The issues occured while driving on the freeway in construction traffic, driving slowly down rural county roads, and driving slowly in my subdivision.

6 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 05/23/2026

Vehicle experienced unintended transmission gear change without driver input from the gear selector. While driving, the transmission shifted unexpectedly into 4h even though the selector was not touched. This created a safety hazard due to sudden change in vehicle behavior, including: loss of acceleration, lurching and unexpected movement. Issue occurred at approximately 30 mph. Concern is potential electronic transmission control or shift-by-wire malfunction causing unintended gear engagement.

7 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 05/18/2026

Vehicle: 2021 Ford Ranger. Mileage: 44,000 my 2021 Ford Ranger begin experiencing dangerous transmission shifting issues with absolutely no warning signs or indicator lights prior to the incidents. On multiple occasions the truck suddenly and randomly stalled in the middle of the freeway and in the middle of the road, feeling as if the transmission went into neutral with no power to move the vehicle. These incidents occurred multiple times putting myself and my small child at serious risk of injury or death. At no point did any warning lights illuminate or any indication appeared on the dashboard to alert me of a problem before these dangerous events occurred. The truck was taken to a Ford dealership where it was diagnosed with an electrical fault in the transmission solenoids. The final diagnosis is a full transmission r&I and overhaul at only 44,000 miles. This issue is covered under Ford TSB 21-2315 which acknowledges that the 10-speed automatic transmission may exhibit harsh engagement, delayed shifts, and shifting problems due to known defects. My 5yr/60,000-mile powertrain warranty expired 3 months ago by time only. I am well under the mileage limit at 44,000 miles. Ford has agreed to cover only $2,097. 06 of the $5,242. 65 repair, leaving me responsible for $3,145. 59 for a known manufacturing defect. When I contacted Ford requesting full goodwill warranty coverage, I received poor customer service a manger (luis) promised to call back multiple times with additional coverage options and never did. A full transmission overhaul at 44,000 miles is not consistent normal wear and tear and is clearly the result of a manufacturing defect that Ford has already acknowledged through TSB 21-2315. The sudden and unexpected nature of these failures with no warning, combined with the serious safety risk posed to myself and my child, makes this matter extremely urgent. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this matter and Ford's handling of this known defect.

8 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 05/14/2026

When using the rear camera while towing a trailer, the image is partially blocked by a persistent message stating “full view not available”. This creates a safety issue as it obscures the driver’s view of the trailer and/or the trailer load. It is critical to be able to monitor the trailer and the load during towing to ensure a hazardous condition is not developing. I believe the rear view camera is working as designed, that is I do not believe there is a defect or failure in the hardware. However the design of the message is the problem. If the driver needs to know that “full view not available” then the message should be moved to a different part of the screen to not obscure the view of the trailer.

9 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 04/17/2026

Bought 2020 Ford Ranger lariat in March 2024 with 13k miles. I have had no issues and have kept up maintenance needed. Vehicle currently has 19,128 miles and on 4/17/26 while driving the vehicle lost power. I was able to pull over and immediately called the dealership where vehicle was purchased and had towed to their facility for diagnosis. There we no warning lights prior to losing power. The dealership informed me a new transmission is needed pulling codes p0751 and p2700. The cost they informed me for replacement was $10k +/= indicating the power train warranty had expired in 2025. (5 yr/60,000) I find this appalling that at 19k I am responsible to replace something that has clearly had issues in past. Their only option was to replace transmission or they could take apart and overhaul to fix the codes which could be cheaper but also may result in transmission replacement anyways which will cost more in long run.

10 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 03/25/2026

Back up camera intermittently fails to operate giving a squiggly picture or a blank black screen. I have seen many articles involving the same issues with Ford broncos and where recalls have been issued for those vehicles. When will the ntsb be calling for Ford to recall other vehicles models having the same issues?.

11 Equipment problem of the 2026 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 03/18/2026

There is a foot and brake pedal clearance that is a safety issue. The driver side lower heat vent impinges on the driver right foot when when hitting the brake. Looking on the internet this is a known issue that Ford refuses to fix. Customers are modifying or removing the heat vent for their safety. Here is a link of several complaints and customers solutions. [xxx] this is not limited to large footed individuals nor 2026 vehicles. Older models have the problems as well. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

12 Equipment problem of the 2008 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 03/10/2026

I was driving my brother in laws truck and went to Dodge a deer my airbag deployed and caused me to crash into a sign on the driveway leading to my house causing extensive damage to the vehicle and the property sign I was knocked out unconscious and when I came to I got out and walked home and the next morning I had the truck towed to my house.

13 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 02/20/2026

He 2019 Ford Ranger the VIN [xxx] , the driver’s side ac only blows hot due to the climate control issue addressed in Fords service bulletin ssm 51313. This is a known issue with the early production model of the Ranger, hence the service bulletin ssm 51313. It is my belief that faulty parts were used on the early model Rangers and instead of a recall or extending the warranty on this issue only issued a service bulletin was put out. I am writing to have the Ford moco issue the proper recall or cover repairs under and extended warranty. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

14 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 12/28/2025

The contact owns a 2025 Ford Ranger equipped with an aftermarket truck bed cover, product line: bak industries, product type: tonneau cover, product: bak 80342, serial number: rvo193745. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the bed cover suddenly detached from the vehicle, becoming airborne and crossing over three lanes of traffic before landing in a ditch. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the clamps used to secure the cover to the bed of the vehicle had remained attached to the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.

15 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 12/06/2025

2019 Ford Ranger, 74,000 miles on way to pick up girlfriends engagement ring…. The truck started jerking, loosing power, no engine light came on. Turned around to go home and drive about 8 miles under 45 mph. Then truck started jerking again , like transmission issue. Engine light and tool wrench came on. As I was pulling in driveway, truck went into “limp” mode. Had it towed to gullo Ford conroe. Now they are saying need new transmission due to internal transmission failure! shouldn’t Ford. Over this! only 60,000 mile warranty.

16 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 11/30/2025

Rear view camera has significant delay, lag, or stutter at times, in reverse, more noticeably at faster that idle reverse speeds.

17 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 11/19/2025

The 10r80 10-speed automatic transmission and the gear-shift linkage module are defective, and the truck remains available for inspection. Our safety is constantly put at risk because the transmission exhibits an extremely violent, highly intermittent powertrain lunging jolt during deceleration and stopping. The impact is so severe that it sounds and feels like a loud gunshot firing right next to the cabin occupants. Furthermore, the transmission simultaneously exhibits severe throttle hesitation and gear-skipping. This causes the vehicle to drop gears and completely fail to move when attempting to accelerate at busy stoplights, trapping us as a sitting duck in active traffic. Earlier in our timeline, the technician improperly reassembled the shift linkage, which caused the multi-ton vehicle to refuse to engage in park and violently roll backward down a steep residential incline; an emergency parking brake deployment was required to prevent a catastrophic accident. The transmission defect was physically confirmed by baxter Ford of papillion, who verified scored, sticking fluid control valves inside the main control unit. Additionally, the hazard was officially confirmed by bbb auto line national arbitrator sharon katt (case frd2605350). The arbitrator officially signed a ruling certifying that our safety, use, and value concerns are completely valid, explicitly noting that the intermittent nature of this transmission failure does not minimize the extreme safety hazard. There were no warning lamps prior to the failure. The symptoms first appeared at ~49,000 miles. The dealer has since refused advanced diagnostics, executed an irrelevant radio reset instead, and willfully fabricated a fake service record on carfax on April 21, 2026, to force-close system safety alerts in their database.

18 Equipment problem of the 2004 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 11/18/2025

Since 2020 I have owned this Ford Ranger edge and have replaced drivers side exterior door handle 4 times, interior drivers side door handle 2 times and exterior passenger door handle 2 times. They keep breaking at the clip on the left side. It has been so bad that I actually had drivers side interior and exterior door handles break and could not get in on drivers side. It has caused me to be late for work, terminated from one service job, and a lot of stress. I have ordered handles a total of 5 times. Not any have been of quality to be called "built Ford tough".

19 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 11/06/2025

The boot material surrounding the parking brake bunches up and does not allow the handle to properly seat. When using the cruise control, the parking brake handle will raise up on its own, due to the boot material, causing the cruise control to abruptly disengage. This causes the vehicle to mildly to moderately deaccelerate without warning. This could cause rear end collision.

20 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 11/05/2025

The factory driver's side floor mat does not stay snapped in. This causes the floor mat to slide forward towards the pedals. This causes the floor mat to lodge underneath the accelerator pedal, which can cause an inability to accelerate. The fllor mat could also lodge undermeath the brake pedal, not allowing the full use of the brakes.

21 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 10/22/2025

Rear view camera screen freezes, has distortion and is sometimes blank. This has been an issue for several months and I keep seeing articles regarding this problem and that Ford is recalling various vehicles for the same issue but have not been notified of a recall for my vehicle model and year.

22 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

The head rest leans out so far at the top that my chin hits my chest. It doesn't matter if I try to lean the seat back of forth. Please evaluate the head rest as I believe it will cause serious injury as there is no back and forth adjustment. This can cause severe damage to the neck. You insisted on head rests for safety and I am very concerned about this. Also they are leaning the window so far back that with the sun out its impossible to see out with the reflections from the dash board showing in the window. The glare though the side drivers window is blocking me from seeing the odometer and gages. I really don't understand the use of so much computer that distracts drivers. If this is not your department send it to might be of assistance. I am talking about the 2025 Ford Ranger truck.

23 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 09/12/2025

I bought the 4x4 Ford Ranger specifically to be towed behind my motor home and followed the directions on how to set up the flat-tow feature that allows the Ranger to be towed behind my motorhome. I had traveled to a number of good same rallys without any trouble with the Ranger. I use it also as my main vehicle at home to go to store, church etc. On my last trip to branson, mo while coming home there was a noise that sounded like my brakes on the Ranger were locked up. I took my foot off the gas pedal and it stopped, I proceeded on home when it did this several times. Each time it would stop. I got home disconnected the Ranger and it started fine, I drove it almost 200 miles when I began to notice a jerking from the transmission and took it to my dealer. They proceeded to check it out and told me that the transmission and universal were bad and needed to be replaced at a 17k price. According to the computer readout my battery had failed 2 times. How can a battery fail two time??? apparently this caused my flat tow in nuetral tow to go into normal range and at that time made my truck act like it was in normal range, towing a dead truck. This could have caused me to have a bad accident, end up in a ditch. The shop checked and the batter was low but ok. The computer on board did this to my truck and lied on the readout. Three (3) other Rangers had this happen to them and one blew up. I am sure other Ranger owners have had this happen to them too. This can cause a serious accident. I have filed a complaint to our attorney general in my state.

24 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 09/10/2025

Became aware of open recalls circa 09. 2025, and requested the parts be ordered at Ford auto nation (fan) panama city, FL. Was told by john, dealership would call when parts became available. Parts have not either been available and/or there have been no calls. Calling the dealer is ludicrous as all calls are answered by an incompetent call center. Dropped by the dealership today 04/25/2026, and taylor could not book a service appointment, did not know if parts to fix recalls were available for my vehicle, and said I would need to speak with john whom was off today. It appears that Ford/fan-pc is not interested in safety or repairing my vehicle.

25 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 06/10/2025

The transmission in my truck has worked excellently with no sign of wear or degredation in performance, that was until the transmission suddenly began hesitating and slamming into gear. This is a common problem with this vehicle and is reported online incredibly frequently, while this may seem like a simple mechanical issue it did cause a completely lost of power when making a left hand turn which nearly caused me to be t-bone'd by oncoming traffic, and the hard shifting makes throttle response incredibly unpredictable. Please help us with this, there are recalls on the transmission in these trucks in multiple other countries with the chance of death as a consequence being openly stated. Me and my loved ones were almost killed because of this transmission which has widespread problems and needs to be recalled before someone does lose their life. Ford has claimed this to be due to the adaptive learning software in the truck, but coincidentally has also redesigned a critical component in the transmission that causes these types issues three times now, but with zero effort to notify the customer of the risk or to openly address the problem.

26 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 06/02/2025

Rearview camera malfunction. Screen on rearview mirror goes from blue color to blank. The vehicle's air conditioning does not blow cold air. Stays at warm temperature. Cannot hear pump kick on for a/c.

27 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

My interior door handles have chrome-plated stickers. They have started to bubble and peel to the point where my wife sliced her finger requiring an er visit and stiches. I've seen on reddit that other vehicle owners have had the same issues. I noticed on June 9th, 2026 Ford issued a recall for its for expedition, for a similar issue but with its center console, not the door handles. I believe this is a serious issue that could easily cause bodily harm. This should be investigated. Thank you.

28 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 04/29/2025

I started hearing a ticking sound under the dash on the driver's side. Then it would blow hot air on drivers side and cold air on passenger side whether it was on heat or air conditioning. We also smelt plastic once in awhile. I took it in and was told it was it was the actuator. They replaced that and that took care of the noise but not the 2 different air temps. Took it back and now was told the distribution housing needs to be replaced. I have read on a recall for the hvac system it could catch on fire so the melting plastic smell concerns me.

29 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 04/21/2025

When I use my back up camera it either goes all black or is distorted to the point where I cannot see what is behind my truck. This occurs randomly when I put the truck in reverse.

30 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 04/21/2025

Rear camera sometimes freezes or blacks out. Have seen recall notices for this issue on 2024 year models of the same vehicle model but not for the 2020 model.

31 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 03/24/2025

Approximately 32,000 miles. During that. I've had approximately 10 occasions where I've lost throttle power. It's happened while in turns and inclines. You lose all throttle response for 3 to 5 seconds. Been close to very dangerous a few times because of people behind me when I lost throttle and power. Other issue in both 2024 Rangers we own. On curvy roads. The steering wheel starts sticking it will not reset back to center. This is one going into turns to the left and trying to go back to center. You have to use a lot of pressure to get it back to center like it's binding. Again this is happening in both our 2024 Rangers starting around 7,000 mi on both. Only one has experienced the loss of power so far. I'm seeing a lot of complaints from other owners of the exact same lost power on forums.

32 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 03/06/2025

While driving on the highway the tensioner pulley snapped off from the timing cover. Losing the pulley caused my serpentine belt to become tangled in the radiator fan. My engine over heated and I lost power steering. This left me stranded on the side of the highway for hours. I took the truck to Ford, the origional quote was 3900, but they worked with me and got it down to 1765.

33 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 02/20/2025

Not sure if this is the correct channel, but here goes my concern. The safety incident has not yet occurred, but the manufacturer has stated it could/may occur if a certain fix is not performed, but are unwilling to issue a recall for said fix, or even produce the parts they say are necessary to implement the fix. I own a 2024 Ford Ranger raptor that Ford has demonstrated has a design flaw in their bed (for vehicles produced before mid sept, 2024) in that it cannot carry more than 88 lbs on the bed rails without the potential for failure. I need to install a topper to protect and secure cargo in the bed which will exceed the 88 lb failure number they state. The fix they say must be implemented is to install 2 Ford supplied load box reinforcement brackets (called j-braces), yet I've been trying to order/obtain said braces for almost 5 months now without success. Ford seems to have given up on producing them as they've been "out of stock" since I purchased my vehicle, and Ford has cancelled my order for them twice now, when I try to submit an order. If the bed fails due to weight above 88 lbs put on the rails while driving, depending on what a failure looks like, it could cause collisions with the affected vehicle, or with other traffic in the vicinity. Ford has been completely unresponsive in issuing a recall so far regarding this known design flaw, yet they redesigned the suspect area mid year to fix the issue on vehicles produced after mid-sept and going forward. Yet they are leaving purchasers of vehicles prior to this time, in a precarious position as they have potential safety concerns that Ford is unwilling to address, or even provide a solution for.

34 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 01/07/2025

Repeated failure of hvac system, even after repairs, leads to not only a very cold truck in January in maine, but inability to defrost the windshield and keep it defrosted. Repairs have been made in January 2025, April 2025, and now has to be repaired again in December 2025. My independent service provider who subscribes to oem Ford subscriptions, was not made aware of an "internal" service memo until now. Neither from the subscription services or from contacts at a Ford dealer where he resourced parts and repair info. Ssm 51313 indicates a different repair than was made on the previous two attempts. These repairs require the disassembly and reassembly of the instrument panel and are very expensive - especially when not apprised of correct. Now the ssm indicates a complete housing replacement to correct the defective part. See attached forms.

35 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 01/06/2025

The wrap material on the front driver side and passenger inside door handles is separating and is very sharp. I noticed it a couple of days ago when I went to get out of the vehicle and I reached to open the door, and it sliced open my finger. I told my passenger what had happened, and he checked the passenger side inside door handle, and he said that his was the same way.
