After repairing, the same issue developed again five days later. Ford dealer said it was another malfunctioning manufacture part.

38 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 04/27/2022

The front passenger door mechanism failed. The actuator that grips onto the metal latch on the truck's frame is locked in the up position, preventing the door from closing. That creates a safety problem because the door will not close or latch.

39 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 04/03/2022

When using the steering wheel button to go from am/fm/usb/bluetooth/sirius, the display stops at the first sirius station asking to either subscribe or close. This causes the driver to have to take his/her eyes off the road to close the screen. It happens three times in a row, once for each sirius band, and has caused me to hard brake twice so far. Sirius says it's a Ford issue and Ford does not deny it but does not have a solution. Customer perception is that Ford cares more about the kickback they get from sirius that they do about customer safety. It has not caused an accident yet, but if others have the same issue then it's hard to believe that no one else is complaining. Shame on Ford.

41 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 03/17/2022

Unknown, my vehicle seems to stall in low gear. I already informed the dealership several times, and they stated that everything was fine. The stalling appears to be getting more frequent as time goes on, and worried that this could cause further damage to the vehicle. This is a safety concern as well.

42 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 01/24/2022

I was slowly pulling forward, parking my vehicle. I pressed the brakes and they did not engage. I pumped my brakes and my foot was down to the floor with no brake activity and an involuntary acceleration occurred causing me to crash into a brick wall. Fortunately, I was the only person injured in the crash. The police were called and my vehicle was towed to be repaired. It was inspected by my insurance company. I called Ford several times to ask that the vehicle be inspected by a Ford investigator to determine why the brakes failed and the involuntary acceleration occurred. They misdirected me at least 10 times. I informed that there were 12 reports of the identical problem happening to other 2019 Ford Ranger owners. They ignored my requests. Upon recommendation by Ford customer service, my car was towed from a body shop to a Ford dealer where they informed by that there was at least one instance that the diagnostics showed a sensor failure. At no time did any warning light appear on my dash signaling me there was an issue of a sensor failure. In spite of this problem, Ford continues to ignore my request for an inspection of the vehicle. I went to a doctor as I had a very bad headache and pain throughout my body. I had a concussion and soft tissue damage along my right side, both hands and elbows.

43 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 01/04/2022

On Jan 04,2022 while flat towing my truck behind my motorhome it caught fire and burned to the ground. It was too badly burned for the insurance to make a determination of the cause. However, it started in the engine compartment. I know it was not a bad tire because all tires were inflated until the fire popped them. I was able to get the truck disconnected from the RV and know that it remain in neutral with nothing seized up like the transmission or brakes because the truck rolled on its own once it was disconnected and had to be chocked. I had followed all the proper procedures and my key was in acc position. I had towed this truck many hundred miles prior. That day I had towed it 5-6 hours prior to the fire. This incident took place in alachua county florida. Alachua county fire rescur case # acfr22-0000462 alachua police department case #22apd00014 state farm insurance claim #36-29co-58s.

44 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 11/09/2021

I checked oil level on Nov 9 2021. Oil level was clearly past the "full" mark on dip stick and smelled of un burnt fuel. Took to dealer same day. Got truck back on Nov 12 2021. Dealer says no fuel in oil bit couldn't explain why the oil level had risen past "full" mark. Clearly they lied. I had dealer do an oil change. Will send sample out next time. Checked today, Nov 15 2021. Smells like fuel still. Cause: unknown.

45 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 09/17/2021

I was in the driveway of my home. My family had entered and closed the front passenger door and opened the rear driver door. I opened and then closed the driver front door which caused the rear window with the glass sider to completely shatter. The vehicle had at the time 9,686 miles on it. It had no damage visible prior to this and there were no signs of any vandalism or other activity that would have caused this situation to occur. No vehicle alarm was activated either that would have indicated forced entry. In addition to our personal security system on our property providing no indication of such. This window should not have shattered. The cost to replace this window is $985 plus installation by a glass repair company. I contacted Ford customer care and was referred to a dealership service center to get the vehicle inspected, file a claim and then be referred to a glass shop. After contacting a couple of dealerships, was able to clear away glass to safely drive this vehicle to a third dealership to complete this process. Shattered, tempered glass from a rear window is difficult to clear and sharp. I then learned I was denied the claim of coverage under warranty because there are no other complaints regarding glass breakage. I am lodging this complaint with a relevant third party to ensure this is not true and if others have this issue of a defective window, they are not denied a true and substantial claim as I was. I will be attempting to use the coverage the dealership I bought the vehicle from to cover the cost of this repair. I don't believe this is an insurance claim. It is defective equipment from Ford on a new vehicle. It's a statement on how Ford backs the quality of their vehicles. I will be considering my vehicle purchases going forward.

The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

47 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 07/30/2021

On several occasions in the last three weeks, I've felt severe shaking--almost as if the truck was heaving at virtually any speed. This has occurred on surface streets and freeways. Over the weekend, it occurred so frequently that my wife and I abandoned an out of town trip for fear the transmission was about to fail completely.

51 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 06/04/2021

I am certain my vehicle does not shift correctly. It often seems to be in the wrong gear for the terrain and according to the dashboard seems to skip gears. Also it seems to not get the power to the road as if the transmission slips. It is intermittent. The start stop feature which I usually turn off, sometimes does not work correctly. I have only had this vehicle for about 5 months. When the start stop feature is off the vehicle still acts as if its on. I have read blogs of many people having similar transmission issues. A local Ford dealer told me it drove fine, nature of the beast and it shifts that way to save fuel. Also on off the gas there is a hard clunk which seem to harsh. I feel like at some point something is going to fail.

53 Equipment problem of the 2006 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 12/08/2020

The frame of my Ranger has rusted badly , causing the rear spring shackles to no longer be attached to the frame. Also the bed of the truck has rusted away badly. I I spoke to a guy who specializes in frame / axle repair . After inspecting it , he told me that the only option to repair my truck was to replace the frame , because the frame is rusted too badly to be able to be welded , he said the only other option was to junk it . The truck has 102,000 miles on it and is otherwise in good condition . I had planned to own it for years to come . Now I am afraid to trust it . And I would not feel right about selling it to someone else . I use this truck to haul hay to feed my livestock , but now I am afraid to load it up and drive down the road with it . I had the tires replaced and the service center noted on the paperwork that the frame was bad and needed to have the spring mountings fixed . . ,.

55 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 08/11/2020

After the auto start stop feature engages at a stop, the engine begins to re-start but then shuts down completely along with all electric functions in the vehicle. Cannot engage hazard lights or re-start the engine until the the battery is jump-started. Once the vehicle is jumped, it functions normally and does not display any battery or check engine indicator. This happened once at a stop sign in a residential area, and again at a red light on a multi-lane boulevard with speed limit 45 mph.

The passenger side front window is developing several snowflake like defects in between the glass. These are three to four inches in diameter and impede the side vision of the vehicle. 63 Equipment problem of the 2005 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 10/29/2019

I bought a used 2005 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 in July of 2018 being a one owner vehicle and low milage at the time which was about 65000 miles I saw it online in one of the local dealerships in town. He had a great reputation and I went to see him got a great deal so I bought it. . The truck passed MA state inspection with no issues. I kept getting notices from Ford for an air bag recall so I went to a local Ford dealer to have my airbags replaced for recall and wanted them to check the undercarride as well as I have seen horror stories online as how bad these undercarridges were on the Ford Rangers. The local Ford dealership did a safety inspection and found that my entire undercarridge has been rusted out. There is a missing crossmember bar which I guess supports the vehicle that is completely gone and all hoist points are bad vehicle is comprimised due to all the rust and is not safe for driving. A certified Ford dealer gave me this written estimate and I asked if Ford would help me here about maybe recalling the frames as I have seen a lot of online stuff that these frames were as bad as the Toyota tundras and Toyota at least re-called the frames can Ford do the same they said no. I would think a reputable Ford dealer who gave me this estimate would at least try to help me but no. I have written to Ford but no answer as of yet. I am fighting now with the local dealership who sold me the vehicle in the first place as it should have never been sold and also looking into any recourse I have within MA law. This doesnt seem right you have an entire undercarridge that has been rotted out fod knows about this issue and will not do anything about it what are they waiting for someone to get seriously hurt or even die in an accident here. Thes trucks should be recalled.

70 Equipment problem of the 2006 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 06/25/2019

As I was driving headed to my doctors appointment down the freeway and as I exited the off ramp my vehicle shut off with traffic be hide me and I coasted off to the side. I learned that it was my inertia switch that cause my vehicle to shut off. The vibration of the road reflector and small potholes which cause inertia switch to shut the vehicle off. My truck has stalled out after exiting the freeway and on small streets. I kept taking my vehicle to the Ford dealer to see why my truck never starts and would always shut off while driving down the freeway. Finally one machinic at the Ford dealer told me that the inertia had been engaged and that was the reason why my vehicle lost power and wouldn't start.
