Front Seat Belt Anchorage Problems of Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger lost traction and slid on the ice. The seat belt did not lock on impact and the air bags did not deploy. My child hit the steering wheel with her head. This is the second accident in our 1998 Ford Ranger that the seat belt did not lock.

: the contact stated while driving 55mph without warning the driver side seat belt anchorage came loose from the vehicle floor. Upon inspection the dealership determined the anchorage wire cable frayed. The seat belt anchorage needed to be replaced.

To follow up from a previous post on or about Aug 8, pertaining to the drivers seat belt. I went to the Ford service represenative yesterday, 13 Aug, and was told that the belt would be in tomorrow (today 14 Aug). And I did not receive a seat belt. Female end of seatbelt slipped off cable which ancors it to the floor.

Consumer was involved in a front end collison in which drivers side seatbelt was inoperative. Damage to vehicle was estimated at twenty-five thousand dollars. Dealer has been contacted.
