While on the freeway the hood detached and the contact was not able to see the road. There was no accident prior to the defect. The windshield was cracked due to the hood and the hood also became dented.

While driving 60 mph, the consumer's vehicle was being by passed by an 18 wheeler. The air blast popped the hood open and the safety catch kept the hood from opening completely.
