Four problems related to brake disc pads have been reported for the 1998 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rotors replaced twice / resurfaced 4x in 30000 mi. Pads also replaced 4 times in 30000 mi. Vehicle shakes side to side wildly when brakes applied at speed.
Brake pads failed.
Brake pads do not have a warning noise due to a change in design, causing owner to be unaware of faulty brakes. Dealer says it's normal.
Extreme wear on one front disc pad.
