Two problems related to brake pedal and linkage have been reported for the 1998 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Distance between the gas and brake pedals are designed poorly. When transfering feet from one pedal to another, consumer's foot will get stuck between the pedals.
The brake pedal and the gas pedal are too close, and gas pedal is 1/2 inch lower. When stepping on the brake pedal can hit the gas pedal at the same time. Dealer states no modification because of design specifications. Consumer states he has a big foot in this case.
