Nine problems related to brake foundation components have been reported for the 1998 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving approximately 30mph on exit ramp brakes failed completely, resulting in an accident. Vehicle was checked by dealer ,who stated that brakes were fine. Consumer was scared to drive vehicle.
While driving vehicle speeds up and cannot slow down when pressing down on brakes. This may cause a crash. Took vehicle to dealer, but dealer could not determine cause. The left front drive wheel makes roaring noise. The vehicle also trys to pull off when braking to stop. The dealer neither can fix it nor take the vehicle back.
Brake failure caused the vehicle to roll through the intersection resulting in accident.
The day before the accdeints, the gas padal were sticking, and started to slide. On the day of the accdeint I wer on my way to the dealer and a car cross over very close to I and I turn to involed hit it and sidle againsted a little crub , my right side tire barely touch the crub . Ans less that a second the air bags went out than 30 secondlater the secind bag came out. This shouldn't had happen.
Rear brakes worn out and rotors needed turning causing noise ,also all tires needed replacement. Yh.
When the brake pedal is pushed there are no brakes. Extended stopping distance occurs. Dealer 4 times contacted, and stated to wait until the next failure to check. Problem still exists. No remedy to repair. . Et.
While driving had to make a sudden stop by depressing the brake pedal to the floorboard, the vehicle continued to travel, resulting in an accident.
While traveling notice brakes were spongy when depressing brakes to slow vehicle down, but vehicle countined to s travel. Consumer put vehicle in park mode, and turned engine off, and vehicle still traveled. Consumer stated that acclerator was stuck. Please provide further information.
When applying brakes pedal went to the floor, causing extended stopping distance. Please give any further details.
