Rotors on front wheels are defective; have been replaced one time and am having trouble again; vibrate when brakes are applied.
My 2000 rord Taurus ses has only 33000 miles and has extreme vibrations when the brakes are used when they are hot from a long trip or in commuting traffic. They operate normally when the brakes are cool . I have taken no action to correct this problem to date. Howver, I intend to check with the drealer because the vibrations are getting excessive and loss of control is occurring.
While driving at any speed and when the brakes were depressed vehicle vibrated violently. A goodyear tire dealer examined the vehicle and found that the rotors were warped. This problem occurred three times.
Original front brake rotors warped twice causing severe wheel shaking and hard braking. Once under warranty rotors were turned by Ford then they warped again after warranty was up. Rotors were to thin to turn again causing expensive rotor and pad replacement. Now less than one year of replacement the rotors are starting to warp again.
Both rear disc rotors (4 wheel disc brakes) wore out and needed to be replaced at 24000 thousand miles. The repairing dealer found that the cable from the parking brake pedal to rear brakes was to tight causing the parking brakes to be slightly on all the time which caused both the brake pads and rotors to wear prematurely.
This is the thrid and last Ford car I well buy, on-less it was made before 1970! while driving, the car pulls to the left and there's a sqeaking sonud coming from the driver's side. The pulling to the left caused the inside of tire's to wear. When applying the brakes the steering wheel and front end vibrated badly. The brake rotors had to be resurfaced no less than three time do to warping. One time, the ball-joint was replaced under warrant, but I was billed for the realignment by fairlane Ford in dearborn mi. . It was said that the tire's was at fault. There seems to be a defect in the braking system or bad metal in the rotors. (90% of my driving is open road) there's no good explanation or justification for these repetitve malfunction starting on a vehicle that has less than 11,000 miles. . P. S I had to leave out some of the little things. U.
Brake rotors are warped, and brakes vibrate when stopping.
While traveling at 60 mph and hitting the brakes front end shakes very badly. Took vehicle to dealer, and resurfaced the rotors. After a couple of days problem reoccurred.
Machining rotors did not fix problem. Had to replace rotors. My understanding is that the dealer has had identical complaints from other buyers. After replacing the front rotrs twice and replacing the rear brakes due to high spots the problem was finally fixed. Nlm.
Consumer was having problems with front rotors rusting. Delaer was contacted, and stated that they needed to be replaced, and did not explain why this was happening.
When the brake pedal is depressed front end shimmies. This is caused by the rotors warping.
