general problems of the 2000 Ford Taurus

It presented a series of missed fired and over heating on the road , after driving around 150 miles , the engine leaking oil and it loss power make it on safe to drive . The air conditioning system is iced up like a fridge and less cooling in an over whole look the car need safety control and all of this can clearly seen on the city road way .

Front end unacceptable! then defroster didn't work in winter and I had to use my shirt sleeve to keep rubbing the windshield. I told ac collins Ford dealership that something was wrong with the coil springs and brakes when I bought it. I also told them that the ac was leaking in car. When driving down street about 25mph, I went to stop a stop sign and the brake pedal went to floor. I checked fluid level and was full. Then took to shop where they had no answers for why it happened. Since then I drove home and now there's no brakes at all. We checked for broke lines and replaced calibers and still no pedal. I've had brakes bleed too.

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph downhill with the brake pedal depressed all the way to the floorboard, the vehicle failed to stop. Consumer had the rear brakes/shoes replaced, and the rotors turned. Consumer never heard of rear brakes rusting, and did not think warranty would pay for it.

Consumer complained about a brake problem. Consumer was parking the vehicle and when the brakes were applied vehicle would not stop. Vehicle was towed to the dealer, and consumer was told there was no problem with the brakes. Consumer received a second opinion at an independent brake shop, and was told there was no brake problem. When the brakes were applied the pedal went to the floor and the vehicle would not stop.

While driving consumer applied brakes and pedal went to the floor. Driver was able to maintain control of vehicle. Then, drove vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic was not able to resolve the problem.

Due to the brakes on a 2000 Ford Taurus that I just purchased I was the cause of an accident because the brakes wouln't allow me to stop. As an owner I was not instructed to the proper way to set the position of the pedals. Ak.

Everytime I drive the brakes get really hot and they fail and the abs keeps pulsing and then it gets hard to stop.

Consumer states that when weather is 32 degrees or lower the brakes do not function properly and require excessive effort. The brake pedal will not depress and will stick at top. If vehicle is being driven and brakes are applied, the car will not stop. The dealer has attempted to repair 2 times unsuccessfully. Ts.

I have had my brakes worked on my 2000 Taurus about every 6 months. I have been told by 2 mechanics that the car model is severely under braked. The problem causes the rotors to warp. I have had one accident with the car were I should have been able to stop if the brakes operated properly.

While the brakes were applied and rattling sound could be heard in the rear of the vehicle.

When the brake was applied, the vehicle vibrated.
