- the contact stated that the headlight knob in her 2000 Ford Taurus (89000 failure mileage), came off and will no longer stay on. There is a recall (01v078000) out for the same failure, but this vehicle wasn't included.

2 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2005

2000 Ford Taurus headlights failed. The headlight seals failed which allowed moisture to form on the inside surface of the lens. This reduces the amount of light given off by 10-25%.

3 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2005

2000 Ford Taurus station wagon. The headlight assembly was cloudy and got moisture on the inside of the plastic itself. It sweats from the inside. Called manufacturer, and asked for any recalls or problems on the headlights. They said no. The only solution for this was to replace the headlights for a cost of $155. 00 and with only a year warranty or 12,000 mile. Consumer spoke to a junk yard, and they said that this had been a problem since 1985. Consumer owned this car since it was new, I, and just noticed this last week. Consumer inspected vehicle and could not find any I seal fractures or broken lenses on the light or assembly.

4 Headlights problem

Headlights just shut off when on automatic. Sometimes they come right back on and other times they stay off. Very dangerous when on dark highway.

5 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2002

There is a recall on this component however my car isn't covered. I would like reimbursement since I was required to replace the entire switch assembly and not just the knob. Dt.

6 Headlights problem

While driving at night headlights became extremely dim. Dealer is unable to locate source of problem. Please provide further details.

While driving at night headlights became extremely dim, causing poor driver visibility. Dealer has been contacted, but cannot locate source of problem. Please provide further details.

Headlights go out intermittently while driving anywhere from 5 seconds to 1 minute. Dealer cannot findcause of problem.
