5 Power Train problem

Driving at 65mph with the cruise on. The rpm's goes to 6000 with no warning and no lights on the dash. I turn the cruise off and the rpm's drop. I now start to accelerate and the rpm's just go up and the car doesn't move forward. I just get the car off the roadway before I am rearended thank god. Once on the shoulder of the roadway I try all gears with nothing but high rpm's. I sit on the side of the roadway for 1 hour with 18 wheelers going by just inches from me until a tow truck arrives. I did a search on google about this vehicle and there are many let me repeat many folks that have had the same problem. This vehicle only has 47,000 miles and is very well maintained.

6 Power Train problem

Main problem is the transmission. . . . In reverse it starts to buck and grind; motor mount also failed.

7 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2003

The transmission was replaced 3 times. The last time the transmission light illuminated, the dealer stated there was an internal problem with the over drive.

When the vehicle was in park, the gear shifted into reverse and caused and accident.
