Takata recall, I have a bad noiz in the motor and my suspension is bad.
Car had not been driven for a month or two. After starting it one day in early March, owner heard spring on the front, left strut pop and break. The car was not in motion nor had it been for quite some time. In an attempt to take it to a local Ford dealership, the spring punctured tire. The set of four tires had been recently purchased by owner. Owner had to pay for tow, brand new tire, and both front quick struts for vehicle plus labor costs. There was a recall issued on 7-15-2004 regarding installing panels to protect the tires from the exact type of damages incurred. Dahl Ford dealership stated the recall did not apply to vehicle's specific VIN, so, they would not put the panels in nor replace damaged components at no charge. Owner advised dahl Ford that this recall was sent from advance auto parts online garage services, so, it cannot be too invalid. Owner also was told by employees of a local meineke car care center that the issues for the car should be covered under the recall. Ford motor company refuses to acknowledge that the vehicle has been registered in one of the states where the damage to struts and springs can occur--from road salt--and owner spent close to $800 remedying a problem that should have been covered under the recall. The VIN does not indicate that the panels were ever installed at an earlier date, and the lack of doing so caused the exact type of issue outlined in recall number 04s17.
My coil spring broke, could have went into my tire. Only have 95000, miles say there's no warranty because its over the years, it should be miles not years.
All coil springs could crack and cause mishap.
The contact owns a 2000 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 04v332000 (suspension), but the contact was not notified. After an oil change, the dealer diagnosed that the struts were bent with extensive corrosion on the spring coils and struts. The dealer failed to indicate if they would provide the recall repair for the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.
The vehicle alignment will eat off tire, causing tread wear and tear. The front tire(s) had wore out. The dealer sent the consumer to the tire company and they sent the consumer back to the dealer stating it was an alignment problem. The tires were rotated and soon after the wires were seen extending out of the left front tire. The consumer requested reimbursement.
There is a rattling noise when going up hill. Sounds like car is going to fall apart. Dealer is aware of problem, but does not have a solution. Please provide any further information.
The front end of the vehicle makes noise, dips, and appears to lock up at stop signs at the end of a down hill incline, the dealer has replaced the catalytic converter, shift cable, stabilizer end links, brake pedal deactivator switch, and dealer has cleaned valve body, but the problem still persists, dealer has also checked brakes several times, however states they are good. Nlm.
Bad shimmy and wobble in front drivers side also makes steering wheel wobble bad.
When vehicle is loaded with about 600 pounds and when turning/ driving vehicle makes noise at the bottom where the exhaust pipe is located. But, when driving on the highway it won't make noise. Apparently the exhaust pipe makes contact whenever traveling over bumps in the road. Owner concerned that damage could be done to the pipe.
Steering wheel will shimmy and vibrate when driving at highway speeds and on flat surface. It is normal characteristic , defect cannot be fixed. Dealer tried to fix the problem three times without success. The dealer replaced half shaft several times too.
