2001 Ford Taurus, I was turning into my home driveway, when the front left strut spring broke (drive is typical suburban drive,no remarkable bumps or turns). The action caused the broken piece to sheer the tire from the wheel in one revolution of the wheel. The tire peeled out from under the wheel (as I was in a slow speed right-hand turn >10mph)and I lost control and ability to safely stop. The car fell to the ground (on it's frame) as the suspension had given way and the tire had lost all shape. The car is currently in the shop for repair and it is unknow the total damage to the vehicle, nor the intention of the manufacturer. I can only imagine what would have happened to this vehicle part failed at speed! that is my reason for contacting you, others need to know!.
