Consumer contacted dealer for recall 01v78000/ manufacturer's recall 01s08. Parts haven't been available since March. Dealer kept telling consumer to call back, and that parts were being shipped.

The brake lights stay on constantly. Lights remain on when the car is off. The brake lights are providing no protection but, no accident has occurred, yet. The repair shop is very familiar with the failure. The shop reported that a few 2000 Taurus and sable's have had failures with this part. A car was in the shop waiting for the part for 5 days when my wife brought our car in for repairs. The part is still on backorder from Ford, again suggesting a high use item.
While in motion consumer tried to stop the vehicle by braking, the engine started to race. The harder consumer pressed the faster the engine raced. A recall notice was sent to consumer. (02v266) also, recall number 01v078 was sent to consumer about a stop lamp switch failure. Consumer had a previous encounter with this failure before the recall was sent.
When driving betwwen 45 mph-65 mph steering will vibrate/ it will shake. Also, vibration can be felt inside the vehicle. Dealer claimed defect was due to tire problem. But, dealer has balanced tires 4 times, and replaced all 4 tires, and vibration still occurs. In addition, brake light has become stuck and will not turn off.
The brake lights were on constantly. The consumer felt it had something to do with the brake pedal assembly.
Brake lights malfunctioned.
Vehicle has no brake warning light. Yh.
