An electrical or computer component failed, frequently causing my rear back up camera to go out. I couldn't tell that both of my headlights to stop functioning at the same time (because all of my interior lighting adjustments were still functioning, and because I was in a well light area initially) until I was on the highway, after dark, with my child in the vehicle.

This vehicle was sold to me with a not for sale in states requiring California emissions, no governor on the vehicle as well faulty lighting mechanisms. The fuel pump is fluctuating and the car is a danger to myself and those around me. I consulted with a independent licensed mechanic who confirmed these defaults. No warning lights no messages and the dealer did not point out these flaws. I discovered this issue after getting some routine maintenance done on the vehicle.

The manufacturer was notified of the failures, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 86,000.
Without any warning or warning lights the electronic power steering system failed, and the turn signal will not remain on unless held manually (new problem that started when the power steering failed). It is very hard to turn without it, and I am a strong man, it's nearly impossible to turn with one hand so the turn signal can also be operated. Only 39000 miles on the vehicle.

Takata recall: I bought a car from a man less than 5 months ago and I slowly started to notice some things. I started out with 3 windows working instead of four which I was not told. My driver side window doesn't even work and it stopped about a moth ago. A week before that my airbag light comes on, my brother was actuallly the one driving when that happened. Also, I found out that I had the wrong battery in the car so I don't know what other damage that has done. Please contact me for more information.

My air bag light often comes on and off. But the Ford place said it's no recall on my car. Also my dash board light flickers off from bright to dim when vehicle is in motion or still.
My interior light stays on while I'm driving, and will stay on 2-3 hours after the engine has stopped.
Takata recall. The started modular has an issue. It will crank and not start, 7/8 of fuel. Push start engine. New batteries in remote. Car was parked and I attempted to start with both the fob and direct. Had to get it towed. Now costing almost $250. Mysync report had no indication. Neither did any lights on the dash as a warning.
The visibility provided by the head light assembly (high and low beam), is less than the standard for night driving conditions and almost non-existent when making turns on dark roads. High beams are the equivalent of dimmed low beams when driving at night. I tried replacing oem light bulbs with sylvania hid ($112 each) despite the fact that hid light bulbs are already standard on the Ford Taurus, with no results. There are plenty of forum discussions regarding this issue with most everyone agreeing on a head assembly flawed design. I noticed this issue after purchasing this vehicle (new) from a Ford dealership.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the vehicle was driven during night time and that the low beams failed to illuminate bright enough to view the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician, adjusted the brightness according to manufacturer specifications. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on five separate occasions. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
My car had caught on fire and the police officer and the firemen said it was a electric fire. My car was sitting in front of my apartment building at 8:30 p. M. And that between 3 and 4 a. M. A car that caught on fire and I was not even driving it was just sitting there park.
The wiring harness for the rear license plate is corroded and needing to be replaced. Dealer states that this VIN is not part of the recall that Ford previously had as it relates to the rear license plate wiring. Was noticed on a regular service call at 83,000 miles that the lights were inoperable. After changing the bulbs and still inoperable took it to Ford dealer to have checked. Dealer stated that if you wiggle the wiring harness it would connect and work but when let go it became inoperable again.
Previous recall 14v285000, license plate lighting corrosion. My vehicle had the recall done back in 2013 and this week noticed the license plate lights were not working. When took into dealership they found the wiring harness had corroded and needed to be replaced, again! the concern is the wire harness is still corroding and Ford is not acknowledging a continued issue with the wire harness corrosion.
Tl- the contact owns a 1999 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the vehicle's day time running head lights would stay illuminated after the vehicle was turned off. Recall 14r01 clearly states that if lens is cracked, or if I operate in corrosive environment , or if the customer is concerned they will replace lens. Well, I'm concerned and Ford is refusing to replace part because I don't live in corrosive environment. Again, there is an or if the customer is concerned clearly stated in the recall. Who would not be concerned if these things are cracking anywhere. I want the lens replaced and they won't do it because it is not cracked. I just want them to live up to the clearly stated or that I am concerned and replace the lens. They are refusing. I contacted Ford and my case number is cas-7167349. I am requesting assistance from the administration to convince Ford that they need to live up to the language of the recall in its entirety.
I was on the expressway the car reduced speed, until it stopped which almost made someone run into the back of me. The windshield blades do not function, the interior lights will not come on all the time. Ive taken my car to several shops they were not able to tell me what's wrong with the vehicle stating the problem does not show up on the diagnostic machine. I am to the point of being afraid of driving my car, I never know when or if it will function properly.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Taurus. While driving at 60 mph, the driver and passenger side head lamps and the instrument panel became inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000. . . . Updated 06-11-15.
The car was driving down the street and stopped. When I pressed to accel the transmission did'nt pull over 15 feet and stopped pulling. It was the torque converter that had gon out. And then I get a letter in the mail about other recalls but not on the transmissions. I worked for Ford for 27 years as an engineer and built transmissions under recalls. I have no idea about these paople! but the 2004 has that recall.
I am being told this third party as I was unable to see the accident scene and have not seen a police report. My 19-yr old daughter was exiting a main road slowing to a stop. She was doing approximately 2-3 mph when she was struck from behind by another vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The impact knocked her vehicle into the vehicle in front of her knocking that vehicle into the vehicle in front of it. My daughter's airbags did not deploy. She received whiplash from the incident as she was forced backward and frontward. She also hit her head on the steering wheel. Her significant other hit his knee on the passenger side dash. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time. Her vehicle (titled in my name and purchased by me) sustained major disabling damage resulting in a total loss.
Night driving is unsafe due to the nonexistence of peripheral lighting. When stopped at a stop sign attempting a turn it is completely dark, and only lit when the car has completed the turn. We cannot drive the car after dark due to this extremely dangerous condition.
It would seem someone would look into the plastic head lights on all models of cars. After a few years the head light covers get covered with something that seems to dim the head lights by 50%. This is an ongoing problem that may be causing night time accidents.
Had issues with lights not working. Took it to get it fixed. They "fixed" it. Happened again a few days later. Went back in to get fixed. Later we were notified that the back trunk caught on fire. Bumper was melted and there was damage to the trunk lid. Items inside were fine. If it was being driven, I'm sure the driver would be dead. The fire was so close to the gas tank.
We bought the car used August 2013. We took it back for driving lights to be checked. We hadn't driven at night until recently and the bright lights seem like dim lights. The dim lights appear to have a shadow inside or over them. The lights do not show very much of the road ahead. We changed the bulbs thinking they were old and we bought the brightest we could and still no difference. The road appears in shadows and you can't see very far. We will be returning to dealer to see if they can figure out a way to fix this dangerous problem.
