When turning steering wheel, at times an object can be heard rolling around in steering wheel. Also, milage light is not lighted. It can only be seen at night when dark out. This has been a problem for the last 2 to 3 years. I took vehicle to a st. Cloud, mn Ford dealer on may 22, 2015, to see if the problem may be part of the recent airbag recall. Dealer advised that there is no recall on vehicle and the problem may be unrelated to recall.

The contact owns a 2003 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that after turning off the vehicle the brake and the exterior light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 83,118.

My wife had a kohl's bag in the trunk. Some how the center stop light which is a high intensity bulb came lose which let it drop down about 8" caught the bag on fire. It smoldered all night and was not noticeable until the next morning. We opened the detached garage door but did not suspect anything for at least an hour after I opened the door. My wife was in traffic on the way home the day before when the stop light must have been going off and on. She said she never noticed the bulb hanging down. The car was not damaged expect for the real think smoke damage to the whole car. I bought this car used so I am not sure if the bulb was ever replaced. The light works fine after fire but the bulb puts off so much heat that you can not touch it when you step on the break. I could not find anything on the internet where this has happened before.

I am having issues exactly as described in NHTSA campaign id number: 04v106000. I have a 2000 Ford Taurus where the the stomp lamp malfunctions when using the brakes. When I called future Ford of roseville, CA in the automall they looked up my VIN # and informed me that this recall is not in their list for my vehicle. But that the owner of the vehicle had the stop lamp replaced already in year 2000 for the same symptoms. I told them that this is a safety recall of the same year, make and model as my car with the same exact symptoms as found in the NHTSA recall article. There was not much interest in my problem and was told there is no recall for my vehicle. To me this appears that this should apply to my car also. Too much of a coincidence to have the same year, make, and model with the same issues as described in the recall and having the part already replace when the vehicle was less than a year old.

The interior gauge lights have gone out. Some remain on but it is very hard to see the speed, gasoline level, etc. Due to the blown lights. This presents a hazard when driving as you cannot see the instrument cluster.

Power windows will not roll up or down, mirrors do not work, inside lights are out. Ford replaced gem module a couple of years before for the same problem costing me money at that time. When the windows would not roll up or down, Ford would replace fuse and in a few minutes the fuse would blow, again and again they did this and now they are not interested in fixing the problems since the vehicle is older and not under warranty and they claim fixing it would cost more than the vehicle is worth. I have a very good vehicle and would like to use the windows and mirrors and especially the lights inside and I feel this is definitely a safety hazard to me since I travel alone a lot each year. I have contacted Ford and they repeatly state that they do not have any recalls and are not aware of such problems. I even sent them websites from people who are having these problems with the windows. All you have to do is goggle: Taurus window problems and there are numerous owners with this problem. Hope you can help with this matter as Ford is not listening to us. . . . .

I having so much trouble issues on this car I want refund money for this was $1,900 refund back to me.

There are no lights at all in or outside of vehicle. Lights in front went out first, and then third lights went out. Dealership is aware of problem.
