The contact owns a 2010 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that his vehicle had a hid lighting system with a single set of headlights; as result he was unable to see when approaching a hill and the lights also made it difficult for other drivers to see. The manufacturer was contacted and advised him to call the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who adjusted the lights which did not fix the problem. The failure mileage was 770 and the current mileage was 14,000.

The contact owns a 1999 Ford Taurus. The contact took the vehicle in for inspection and was told that she had to have the headlights replaced. The headlights had oxidized and prevented the proper amount of light from shining through. The purchase date of the vehicle was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 120,000. Automatic headlights malfunction. Turn off unexpectedly while driving the vehicle. Nearly caused accident a few times brought vehicle back to dealer charged 50 dollars to repair within 2 weeks same thing happened again. Now turn headlights on manually. Could have been seriously injured on turnpike when they malfunctioned drive totally blind till light switch was turned on manually.

I want to complain about the very intense new car headlights that cause too much glare and blind oncoming drivers as a result. Are they called hid lights? whatever they are I find them very offensive and potentially hazardous to oncoming drivers facing their blasting light. Please do something to get these off the road.

2000 Ford Taurus headlights failed. The headlight seals failed which allowed moisture to form on the inside surface of the lens. This reduces the amount of light given off by 10-25%.

2000 Ford Taurus station wagon. The headlight assembly was cloudy and got moisture on the inside of the plastic itself. It sweats from the inside. Called manufacturer, and asked for any recalls or problems on the headlights. They said no. The only solution for this was to replace the headlights for a cost of $155. 00 and with only a year warranty or 12,000 mile. Consumer spoke to a junk yard, and they said that this had been a problem since 1985. Consumer owned this car since it was new, I, and just noticed this last week. Consumer inspected vehicle and could not find any I seal fractures or broken lenses on the light or assembly.

The headlights are not providing adequate lighting while driving at night. This causes poor visibility, and obstruct the consumer's vision while driving. The vehicle was taken to two separate dealers, and on one separate occasion they replaced the headlight bulb, and realigned the headlights on two other occasions, but the problem was not resolved.

Headlights just shut off when on automatic. Sometimes they come right back on and other times they stay off. Very dangerous when on dark highway.

Both headlight lenses are clouded, discolored and have moisture on the inside. The headlight system is supposed to be a sealed unit. The consumer indicated that this problem causes poor visibility while driving at night.

The contact owns a 1999 Ford Taurus sport. The contact stated that the vehicle's headlights blink intermittently, day and night. She could drive 20 miles and the headlights would blink for approximately three to four minutes before dimming. The Ford dealer kept the vehicle for five days and was unable to determine the cause of failure. She stated that the failure is embarrassing because it gives mixed signals to oncoming traffic. There is a recall on this component however my car isn't covered. I would like reimbursement since I was required to replace the entire switch assembly and not just the knob. Dt.

A progressive deterioration of the front headlight lens. Headlight lens is so foggy that visibility is poor enough that it must be replaced. Ford says the deterioration is due to automatic car wash soap. However, car was hand washed. The approximate cost for parts alone is $500 as the lens is not sold separately. Cars in the junk yard also have same condition.

Consumer stated headlight lenses produced a thick film. As a result, the of the visibility of the driver becomes impaired. Dealer stated that it was normal procedure. Head light lens are no longer clear.

Headlights continually dim when braking, when the air conditioning cuts on, and during turns. Lighting is minimal at these times and makes it difficult to see. The car has done this since initial purchase and continues today. This is the second Taurus we have owned with this problem. One dealer told us that it was our imagination and they could not find the problem.

While driving with headlights on they will only focus to the front. But, when try to make a turn headlights will not iluminate. Consumer is unable to see where he is driving.

Car came equiped with daytime running lights from factory. At this time the headlights will not go off unless I disconnect the battery. This problem has not effected the back lights in any way. They are controlled with the light switch, but not the head lights. Please advise.

While driving on i95 during a rainstorm, I experienced a total failure of the windshield wipers when I activated my left directional signal. Visibility suddenly became zero and I narrowly avoided a serious crash. I finally was able to restore partial use of the windshield wipers by switching on my high-beam headlights. I tried this procedure because the headlights as well as the directional signals are all controlled by the same handle. I believe there is a defect inside the stalk that houses the wiring for these controls. I have rarely used this car in the rain ( there has been a virtual drought in my area) and this is the first real workout of the wipers.
