Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Ford Taurus

Radio would not play in 12/2018 but then it was ok until this year when it started causing the following issues in 11/2019. The my Ford touch sync is causing an extremely loud squealing noise when the car is started, or when the radio is on while driving which is so loud it could cause you to wreck. Radio will not play at all when the radio is on. Most of the time the noise will go away if the radio or car is turned off. Ford had a recall but I never was notified by Ford. I disconnected wire to fuse box and the radio reset and all was fine, the radio played all the stations including sirius xm but when my wife started the car the next day the loud noise started again and she had to get out of the car because it was so loud. She reached back into the car and shut the car off and the noise stopped. He got back in the car and started it again and hurried up and shut the radio off and the noise was gone. I got in the car and turned the radio on and the noise was gone but the radio would not play and the radio would not allow me to select am and fm but could select sirius xm, usb, and cd but would not play. The loud noise also has started when the bluetooth is on. This loud noise can cause an accident be because it is so loud. Went to the Ford dealer and they told me that the recall ran out in 2017 but I was never notified of the recall by Ford. This noise is very dangerous and can cause accidents because you never know when it will occur. I called Ford and they gave me a case # ces24887147 and they will look into it but the Ford dealer told me that the case # is about as far as it will go. There are many cases on line and the cost for this repair is about $1500. 00 but it should be Ford's cost not mine because I was never notified of this very dangerous condition while driving down the highway. I installed latest update it worked that day but issue was back next day.

Car engine shut off while vehicle was in drive on the freeway, twice this hads happened. Causing me to coast with little to absolute no control over the acceleration/speed of the vehicle, again bother times car was in motion on the highway going approximately 65mph. Car sits and cools down after a time passes approximately 15 -30 min and car will start back up. All electronic components work as far as dash, lights, radio, etc. Please note there is a similar recall of the same make and year but different trim. . . Also the complaints are very similar.

Passenger side floor full of water after it rains, air only blow on high until it recently went completely out. Worse this time radio and wiper blades were affected. A recall is needed to fix this problem.

Consumer had the wrong cd player radio installed in the 2004 Ford Taurus. When the incorrect radio was installed there was no place to plug in the vehicle's air bags.

While driving anti- lock brake system failed when applied, almost causing an accident. Contacted dealer. The left front door wobbles when opening, consumer states the trunk lid would open while driving, consumer states rear of vehicle bottoms out when there are at least five people in the vehicle, the speakers were giving a bad reception.

All's well in park and neutral, but when in reverse or drive, the radio quits, intermittent wipers fail, windows won't work, loss of about 75% of power steering. Put it in nuetral and all is well. It turned out to be the transmission range sensor. I found 10 other people who have had the same failure in a 96 or 97 Ford Taurus.

When the gear shift is in reverse & drive, radio goes off, power assist goes off at anytime. Very dangerous. Sounds like a reaccuring problem based on reports I have seen. Electrical of some sort.

While driving and applying brakes power steering willgo from off to on intermittently. Took vehicle to dealer, and dealer indicated sensor was going bad in steering column. Please add VIN.

Power steering intermittent failure; first began when placing shift lever into reverse gear, then later occurred also in forward drive gears. Suspect electrical/electronic problem since radio speakers also go silent and power windows do not operate when this occurs. Discovered that removal of 15amp fuse controlling backup lights/heater return power steering and radio control. All other fuses working properly. Dealer is not yet contacted.

Vehicle was difficult to turn due to a loss of power steering. Dealer repaired for 5th time by replacing stabilizer bar and sway bar. Problem is getting worse. . Consumer stated the right front speaker was distorted when playing tapes, the hood would not open.

The radio shorted out, and caused a fire while driving.
